BILL REVOKING MEDICAL LICENSES OF ABORTION DOCTORS PASSES OKLAHOMA HOUSE
A bill revoking the medical license of any doctor who performs an abortion passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives last week and now moves to the Senate.
H.B. 1182, which passed 71-21, would add āperformance of an abortionā to the list of āunprofessionalā conducts that can get a doctorās license revoked. Any doctor who performs an abortion would lose his or her license for one year.
Rep. Jim Olsen, a Republican, is the billās sponsor.
āIn supporting this, we [are] thinking about the value of the life of the mother and equally the life of the baby,ā Olsen said, according to theĀ Baptist Messenger.
Then-Gov. Mary Fallin vetoed a similar bill in 2016, saying it was vague and could not withstand a court challenge. But she was term-limited and has been replaced by Gov. Kevin Stitt. He, like Fallin, is Republican.
āWe are told the [U.S.] Supreme Court is the supreme law of the land, that we cannot protest its decision,ā OlsenĀ said. āThere is a court even higher than the Supreme Court. There is the court of God. Abortion is a violation of the law of God.ā
Republicans control both chambers.
TheĀ billĀ says āperformance of an abortion ā¦ shall be grounds for denial or revocation of a medical license.ā It allows for an exception to save the motherās life or to āprevent substantial or irreversible physical impairment of the mother that substantially increases the risk of death.ā But it also says an abortion āon the basis of the mental or emotional health of the mother shall be grounds for denial or revocation of a medical license.ā
Minority Leader Emily Virgin, a Democrat, voted against the bill.
āFolks, this is not an easy issue,ā she said, according to the Tulsa World. āItās not black and white. There are situations with a lot of nuance. For us to wade into the nuance, the most personal details of a personās life, of a family … for us to say that we know better, that we know whatās best for you, to insert ourselves into this most personal situation, I think is just wrong.ā

Our Father in Heaven has heard the many prayers of His children on the days during the March for Life this year. Why this year especially? Because states like my state of New York went too far with the abortion law, and people are in shock! That’s what it took to wake us up, and we have a leader in the White House that is speaking loudly against this horrific practice. Praise God that He is beginning to answer our prayers!
This is a good start. We need this kind of legislation in 50 more states and at the supreme court. Let’s actively evangelize the whole nation. We need to be on our knees seeking God’s forgiveness for letting abortion become dominant in this nation. We need a revival. Let it start with me, LORD.
May God bless the state of Oklahoma and its legislators for their courage!
This is a great start in correcting the overreach of many doctors. Now, let’s work on getting sex changes for minors in the same category.
