BEWARE! SNEAKING H.R. 1 INTO STATE LEGISLATION

Lord, we pray that the ideas we fought against in HR1 would not be legislated in our states. Give us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Colossians 1:9.

While the 117th Congress House Resolution 1 ‘For the People’ is awaiting a vote in the Senate, the Voter Integrity Project of Look Ahead America (LAA) has released a comprehensive state-by-state report of “attempts to pass dangerous elements of HR1 through state legislatures.”

UncoverDC wrote about H.R.1 in March, and now Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says he will bring the bill up for voting later this month, but West Virginia Senator, Joe Manchin, has expressed vocal opposition, making passage questionable. The bill has wide implications and would affect all three branches of the federal government, including election law.

It was called “clean elections reform” by Democrat sponsor John Sarbanes and summarized as a bill that would “expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and implement other anti-corruption measures for the purpose of fortifying our democracy.”

Republican Senator Ted Cruz wrote:

“They wrote it to expand voter fraud and try to ensure that they’ll never lose again. The bill mandates registering nearly everyone in the country to vote, regardless of their eligibility, prevents states from maintaining the integrity of their voting rolls or removing dead people, and requires that felons be allowed to vote.”

He went on to summarize other aims of the wide-ranging bill by saying:

“The bill requires states to allow universal, no-excuse mail-in voting… states can’t require IDs to vote, and the bill makes it nearly impossible to challenge signature matches without the agreement of a Democrat. Moreover, it allows Democratic operatives to collect and submit unlimited ballots—opening the door to widespread fraud—and requires counting these ballots even if they arrive 10 days after Election Day.”

Matt Braynard, Executive Director of LAA, wrote in an email to subscribers,

You may have thought HR1 was dead, but let us assure you, it is not. Progressives have broken the federal legislation up into components that they are trying to sneak through state legislatures. Our research group has documented this conspiracy.”

Calling the report and the effort to reintroduce parts of H.R. 1 through the state legislatures “The Hidden Agenda,” the May 28 report analyzed 1,144 pieces of legislation to find what “seemed like H.R. 1 introduced in almost every state,” with Texas and New York having the most. The report then lists every bit by state and bill number, with links to the state government website where they can be found. . . .

HB2864 in West Virginia would allow felons to vote, while 16-year-olds in Texas could vote if SB1899 is passed. H788 in Massachusetts mandates voting by all citizens, with a $15 fine for failure to comply (LAA’s page lists 765, which is actually a separate bill related to H.R. 1 – type initiatives.) Connecticut, which is not mentioned on LAA’s summary page, also has similar legislation that imposes a fine for not voting. . . .

LAA was formed in response to the 2020 elections and has focused on election integrity. UncoverDC has previously reported on LAA and we will continue to cover their ongoing efforts.

What are your thoughts about this reincarnation of HR1? Write down your prayers and thoughts in the comments below!

  1. Watchfulness is the key to constant victory. Our enemy does not sleep. Do not accept what Tolkien spoke about that we are really in what can be called “the long defeat.” As Elisha revealed to his servant in 2 Kings, “there are more for us than their are against us.”

Trump won. God IS winning. WE will win. Do not give up. Hold the line.

    Amen! 1
  2. One thing we know: the Devil is persistent; he knows we are weak and easily discouraged and distracted. He has no principles of decency and will keep trying to use our weaknesses to chip away at our convictions. Praying we will not be passive but active in fighting this battle and our resolve will be to WIN the fight, desiring God honoring honest and fair elections insured by sensible voter laws. Praying we will be AWAKE and ALERT, knowing the enemy will be turned away by the power of God’s armies of faithful patriots.

    Amen! 31
  3. One step taken forward, and the enemy is ready to attack 50 times more! We can and must pray against this enemy and ask the Lord God to foil his plans and cause the enemy to come to ruination through his overstepping. Our weapon to fight back is prayer. We ask that you Lord through your Holy Spirit cause each state’s legislators to come to you Lord for righteousness, righteous legislation. Work in their hearts Lord!
And please somehow remove those who do not want to govern our country with righteousness, like Chuck Schumer.
    Thank you Lord God!

    Amen! 51
  4. Lord Jesus, I cry out to you about this H.R. 1 fiasco of a bill. First, I pray, that by your great grace, that this will be defeated in the Senate , when the vote comes up. I also pray that these attempts to pass this unacceptable legislation by state legislatures will fail miserably. Nothing in this proposed law will be of any benefit to we, the people. It is evil in its purest form. We cry out to You, the only One who can intervene in the affairs of men, for Your intervention in this evil, depraved radical faction of our government. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Amen! 86
  5. I don’t like any of the new proposed laws you mentioned in the above article links. I hope the Republican leaders will be up on their game and vote not to pass these corrupt ideas. The Democrat leaders should do so as well. The H788 one for Massachusetts and Connecticut similar according to the article states, and it sounded like a scenario of the citizens in those states were on jury duty with the fine threats instead of jail time for not appearing at the voting place. I want honest voting practices and not deceptive contemplating, on getting the legal American citizen’s votes according to the original constitution.

    Amen! 30
  6. I’m blessed by Dave K’s report that we sent 1 mil+ notices to our govt officials through IFA this year. With IFA’s inspiration I’ve sent almost as many direct as via your website. The present article is an example. Let’s pray harder for our State Legislatures, Executives and Judiciary!

    Amen! 30
  7. Almighty Lord, you are the Master designer of our universe, our world and our nation. I am in awe of your greatness. I know you have control of all things past present and future. My faith is weak when my eyes are not on you. What is happening in our government is EVIL. I beg you , holy LORD, please intervene for your children. I lift our nation, our world, and place them at your feet. These evil laws that the enemy is trying to force on you citizens is wrong and is from Satan, himself. Please put every road block in the way so that nothing can pass through. Protect us from the evil one. In Jesus mighty and precious name, AMEN.

    Amen! 87
  8. If any of these portions of HR1 passes thru the state legislatures, it is socialism, especially with fines which I believe will amount eventually rounding up citizens with military involvement.
I pray that our prayers are answered by God and those committing these forced tactics are dealt with by God and Christians that the enemy will be stopped in his tracks and forced to retreat.

    Amen! 91
