I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray that You would protect us from these blackouts. Bolster America's energy production to better meet demand, God.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

As renewable energy struggles to meet demand, America is expected to see rolling blackouts throughout the summer. We must pray that the damage is as minimal as possible.

From The Wall Street Journal. Summer is around the corner, and we suggest you prepare by buying an emergency generator, if you can find one in stock. Last week the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) warned that two-thirds of the U.S. could experience blackouts this summer. Welcome to the “green energy transition.”

Post a prayer for your state!

We’ve been warning for years that climate policies would make the grid more vulnerable to vacillations in supply and demand. And here we are. Some of the mainstream press are belatedly catching on that blackouts are coming, but they still don’t grasp the real problem: The forced transition to green energy is distorting energy markets and destabilizing the grid.

Progressives blame the grid problems on climate change. There’s no doubt that drought in the western U.S. is a contributing factor. NERC’s report notes that hydropower generators in the western U.S. are running at lower levels, and output from thermal (i.e., nuclear and fossil fuel) generators that use the Missouri River for cooling may be affected this summer.

But the U.S. has experienced bad droughts in the past. The problem now is the loss of baseload generators that can provide reliable power 24/7. Solar and wind are rapidly increasing, but they’re as erratic as the weather and can’t be commanded to ramp up when electricity demand surges….

The risk is greater if there are wildfires, which could disrupt transmission lines. Progressives say building more transmission lines to bring renewable power from rural areas to cities and suburbs will make the grid more resilient. But this may create new vulnerabilities. A tornado this winter damaged a transmission line in the Midwest and raised the risk of power outages this summer as repairs continue.

Manufacturers in the Midwest have relied on cheap and reliable power, but that may be a thing of the past. NERC says the Midwest this summer is at very high risk of power outages, especially if there’s little wind. That’s because 3,200 MW in net generation capacity—mostly coal and nuclear—have shut down since last summer. That’s enough to power about 2.4 million homes.

The threat to the Midwest grid will increase in coming years as more coal and nuclear plants shut down. Electricity supplier Vistra has announced it will retire 6,800 MW of coal power by 2027, blaming an “irreparably dysfunctional” market and the state renewable subsidies. The former is partly a result of the latter.

How are you praying for America as it prepares to battle these power outages? Share your thoughts and prayers below.

There is a dichotomy here I’m having trouble relating to.
I understand when the temperature goes up people like to be “comfortable”. However, I have to take a jacket because stores and restaurants are cold. Common sense seems missing..

Dear Heavenly Father, as I prayed this morning, You impressed upon my heart, “The Court of the Kingdom of Heaven.” You are JEHOVAH EL MISHPAT, the LORD GOD OF JUSTICE AND JUDGMENT. Yours is the Supreme Court where, in every case, righteous judgement is delivered. Your court is always in session, never failing to render justice. Lord, I plead for Your righteous judgement to consume the men and women who are intent on destroying this country. Our Savior tells us that we will give an account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word we have spoken. By them we will be acquitted or condemned. Aren’t the destructive plans of our leaders not deserving of immediate attention? I confess we are a wicked nation. I confess we are a nation undeserving of mercy but You are lovingly devoted to us who love You. I thank You that our sins have been removed as far as the east is from the west. I thank You for the compassion You have for us. I thank You as we know the fear of the Lord is our strength. I continue to pray in thanks and honor to our Savior and Judge, Jesus. Amen

God of all, Jesus Savior who holds all things together, we ask Your mercy and lovingkindness to fall upon the people of this nation once again. Forgive this nation her sins. We want You present in our nation. Come, angels of God, ministering spirits. Lord, show us the way through all this. We want to be good stewards of all of nature and her resources. Father, we believe there are enough of all resources to supply the energy needed to give us our bodily comforts this summer. Help us to be frugal with our use of electricity, water, natural gas. Send plenteous rain for the farmers and ranchers. Take care of the infirm and the elderly this summer. Deliver us from evil. We look to You for the answers to these problems. All glory to You. Amen.

Father, may we praise you no matter what happens with our energy! We ask that you would change the scene so there will not be blackouts. We wait for you and we praise your name. Change our leaders view on “green” energy so they will see we are not ready for it. Change their hearts from wanting to bring our country down so elites can rule; give us hearts of praise and thanks no matter what happens.
