I Prayed have prayed
Thank you God, that we are not left to fend for ourselves, but that you give us the power to pray and fight the spiritual battle!
Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s summer again–the time of year when kids are out of school, families take vacations, and mobs of violent protestors take to the streets.  Yes, Antifa is back in the news, this time inciting violence and causing mayhem in Portland. Journalist Andy Ngo had cement thrown on him and suffered a brain bleed. An elderly man was beaten with baseball bats, and when someone stepped in to help him, he too was beaten with a variety of items, including a sock with a padlock inside. Sadly, it won’t be the last of what we hear from Antifa this summer. Join us to pray that the spirit of violence would be thwarted.

In case you need a reminder who and what is Antifa, Daily Wire posted an excellent summary of Antifa.

From Daily Wire:

What is Antifa? Antifa is a left-wing political movement that has used criminal violence, threats, and vandalism to shut down events organized or hosted by conservative, libertarian, and right-wing personalities and groups.

What does Antifa mean? Antifa is an abbreviated term for “anti-fascist,” though the group itself uses violent, fascistic practices to silence dissenting voices. Antifa pits itself against those they declare “fascist,” using that label to justify disruption and violence.

What are Antifa’s politics? Antifa markets itself as “anti-fascist,” “anti-racist,” and “anti-homophobia.” Though the ideology of its members is not unified, it is generally grounded in Marxism and social justice. Antifa activists are regularly seen with communist, socialist, anarchist, and neo-Marxist paraphernalia, symbols, and signage, including the Soviet hammer and sickle, the raised/clenched fist, and “anti-capitalist” messaging.

Is Antifa violent? Antifa has been documented committing criminal violence and destroying property in shutting down conservative, libertarian or right-wing speakers and events, as has occurred in various cities and college campuses across the country. “In the name of fighting for those ideals [of the social justice left] — and putting a stop to ‘hate speech’—some antifa protestors will employ militant tactics or violent means such as vandalism,” explains Time.

Is Antifa anti-free speech? Antifa has used disruption and violent means to shut down events they deem “fascist,” which has included speakers and events espousing conservatism, libertarianism, and support for Donald Trump. Antifa borrows heavily from the social justice approach to speech, conflating speech with physical violence and promoting the idea that offensive rhetoric or “hate speech” must be silenced through extreme means, including physical assault and destruction of property.

They are terrorists and should be treated as such!

Authorities who give police stand down orders are complicit in the ensuing violence. News organizations
praising violence and assisting them with doctored videos to make the violence seem less threatening are
complicit also. Not to mention the anti trust violations of the dominant media.

We must remain steadfast in prayer. We must not allow ourselves to feel angry and vengeful. Our restraint will make our prayers more holy, more pleasing to God, even if we have to pray for God’s help in keeping our emotions in check. I have seen the videos of the antifas hitting, kicking and throwing milkshakes on those they dislike. Most wear bandanas over their faces, so they know what they are doing is a crime and do not want to be held accountable for it. Others wear no bandanas and smile as they take their inner rage out on another person. A few I see watching and their eyes show that they came to be part of a group but they are now wondering if they need to get out because they see that what is happening is wrong. Let us pray for each individual involved, each blinded to different degrees by Satan, each bound by an evil spirit we cannot see but directed by the principalities above. Let us focus our prayers to fight against the true origin but to fight for the lost souls being used for evil. Corrie Ten Boom saved her Nazi jailer. Stephen forgave those who stoned him. Let us pray for the victims, physically injured and emotionally traumatized. Make God heal their inner and outer wounds and keep them strong, overcoming the fear they must surely suffer after being attacked. Let us further pray that the police figure out how to protect the people attending these events.
May God give them the will and techniques to raise the standard of behavior which guarantees us safety as we exercise our constitutional right to free speech and public assembly. Let the media get a conscience so that they speak out against the violence with the God-given words that will touch the hearts of the antifas, the erupting evil that we see now but must have been festering for a long time. Let us ask God pardon for the state of our nation. Please, Lord, have mercy on us. Hear my prayer, O Lord, bless the intercessors with insight and resolve to do Your Will. I praise You for this forum, now serving You at such a time as this. There is none like You, never has been, never will be. Thank You for being with us one-on-one and as a group. We need You; may our need draw us ever closer to You. All this I pray in the Name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NLT)
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
