I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You that Christ is interceding for us! We are grateful that You are all we need.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

As we close out a busy, battle-intensive year of intercession in 2019, many of us look ahead, with the elections looming, impeachment still rolling in the Senate, some may be thinking that 2020 is just too exhausting to even think about.  We know. We as IFA staff have slid into the end of 2019 with little left in the tank, having seen IFA’s footprint grow immensely, and all the prayer, planning, activity, time, demands, and effort that it takes to be faithful in what he has given us to steward.  We get it.  We are weary too. We have experienced spiritual attacks even in our families.  But yes, we are thankful and blessed with God’s faithfulness to us.  From conversations we’ve had with intercessors, we are not alone.  But then,  we saw an uplifting comment from an IFA intercessor friend, Gloria, who gave some timely exhortations that we needed, and we think you will too.

From Gloria: I pray that you don’t lose heart at the headlines, don’t lose heart at what seems like a loss. Stay positioned in the place of prayer and trust that God knows what he’s doing. He is omnipotent and omnipresent and omniscient. He is already aware of the future because he is there. He is all-powerful and all-knowing and because he is I know that he is not in heaven speaking wringing his hands saying, “what next?” He is always ahead of the enemy, the word even says in Psalm 37:13 that “He laughs at his enemies, he sees their day is coming.” It has been said time and time again that we don’t pray for victory but from victory. As long as we are in Christ we are victorious. Father, I pray for a spirit of refreshing to comfort all the intercessors who are feeling weary. I pray Lord that we learn to enter into your rest even in the midst of warring. We can always find rest in your presence Father. I pray every intercessor facing personal battles would be covered by the peace of God that would surpass our understanding. I was encouraged by reading Hebrews 7 that talks about Jesus as our perfect High Priest seated at the right hand of God. It eased my anxiety and brought me peace. If you are an intercessor, you know all about people coming to you often with prayer requests, while fighting your own battles. Seldom will someone reach out to you and say, “how can I pray for you?” It can be a heavy load to bear. In Hebrews 7:25 it says that Christ is able to save those who come to him from the uttermost, for He lives to make intercession for them.

That blessed me. Christ who is seated at the right hand of God is interceding for mankind. The ones “uttermost” who seem very far from God and for us intercessors the children of God. CHRIST IS INTERCEDING FOR YOU TODAY. He understands weariness because he was weary. He understands sorrow, he was the man of sorrows. He understands grief, he felt it time and time again on Earth. The one thing he never faces was defeat because he defeated Satan at the cross. He is undefeated. He is uncontended. He is unstoppable. He is Almighty. He is the great I AM. He is Alpha and Omega and he always will be. He is for us not against us. He is victorious and the word says that we are overcomers and more than conquerors in Him.

Father, I pray for every Intercessor reading this to be blessed in Your presence. I pray that You would strengthen them as they wait upon You, Lord.

For He who has promised us is faithful to keep his word. He never abandons us. He never fails us and he won’t start now! Intercessors keep praying!
Keep warring! Keep travailing! Keep standing! Keep building! Keep plowing! For the Lord is with you mighty warriors! No word from God will ever fail.

If you have an exhortation for the body of intercessors, share it below in the comments.  If you were encouraged reading this one, let us know that too!  Isn’t God’s Body of Christ a wonderful thing?

It is a great comfort to remember that Christ is INTERCEDING for us!!!
It is true..it seems like most Intercessors are the “Abraham’s” not “Lots”( Abraham had to be the strong mature consistent one while his nephew Lot had to be rescued by him because of his immaturity).
I am so thankful to hear certain trusted prophetic voices saying that this nation is finally turning and its because of the Intercessors…people are waking up and fighting for this country, the nations ,
and their own neighborhoods, cities, states and families!
I am so encouraged!
The Lord keeps saying to “expect” good and keep in “praise” and the Word…
Thank you Jesus!!!
Glory!!!
We love love love you!!!

Big encouragement Gloria. Thank you. To all the intercessors out there. Expect the unexpected! God loves to give surprises. Will share this….. one time I was interceding for a ministry and scriptures were always on the screen. One time it was as if the scripture sucked me in, and I became one with the word. God’s word is so alive and so fresh….. Was going to a conference in Alberta this one time with two other older women and as we rounded every corner the smell of fresh bread welled up in the car. It was in the car the next morning and when we got to our destination and were in the hotel room, two ladies joined us and they said, we smell fresh bread. (Expect the unexpected) \o/ Really looking forward to fasting with you all tomorrow!

Thank you for reminding us that its “not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord God Almighty.
I have read several prophetic words that indicate 2020 is going o be a year of the supernatural moving throughout this nation and thus around the world like ripples in a pond. Some are calling it the Third Great Awakening when our prayers will usher on the greatest harvest of souls known to date. So we must not become weary on well doing but persist in the yaskset before us; praying for all men beginning with those on authority that All men might come to know the Love and compassion of a Savior who gave His life that we might have Life and that more abundantly
Amen and Amen.. so be it

Every word Gloria shared encouraged my spirit because it is scriptural and truth. Reading it you are aware it is the Holy Spirit speaking through her and you are, not only encouraged but inspired, to stay in the fight and continue interceding for others because this is your calling. Thank you LORD for her words and your promises which always build up our courage to stand firm in our faith.

Perfect! Lord, give us a spirit of refreshing. And, raise up more prayer warriors in the next generation. Father, take the mantle from long-ago prayer warriors and place it on some young people so they can continue the legacy of prayer for this nation. Jesus, thank You for interceding for us. Please pour Your Spirit into the Luke-warm men around us so they will rise up and be true men of faith. Help us to see more and more men and young people on this website. Father, take the spirit of apathy and worldliness off of the men and off of the younger generation. Help them to put down their phones and turn off their TVs and pick up their Bibles instead. Lord, we ask for revival in our churches, in our homes, on school campuses, in hospitals, in nursing homes, in the secular media, on social media, in businesses, among the Luke-warm Christians and in the next generation. Amen

Thanks for the encouragement. Many times intercessors are broken and weak and need refreshing. And it’s ok to just rest. There are seasons when it’s time to war and rest. We need to discern those seasons. Our assignments as Intercessors don’t change but our seasons do. Resting at the feet of Jesus is the best place to be to be restored.

God bless you Gloria! As I was beginning my prayers for this country and our leaders my first thought was “I am so discouraged – the list of intercessions seems to be getting longer and longer!” Then I opened the Headline Prayer site and immediately found your encouraging words. Thank you for the reminder! I believe our Heavenly Father has spoken to all of us through you.
