I Prayed have prayed
Father, raise up people for election who will restore this nation's trust in the government.

When you read this “America’s Greatest Threat Lies Within Our Borders” headline, what comes to mind? Illegal immigrants? Fentanyl? Terrorist operatives? Rampant homelessness? Fentanyl and opioids? Gun violence? The economy?

All these are indeed significant threats to our way of life. And they are happening all at the same time, giving us the sense that we are essentially fighting a nonmilitary war on multiple fronts. But those are not our greatest threats.

Get involved in state level prayer with IFA.

According to a Fox News opinion piece by Jonathan Turley, America’s greatest threat is “hiding in plain sight.” He is referring to our rapidly eroding trust in established and respected institutions such as government, religion, and banking. That was brought to light by several polls conducted in recent months. The Associated Press NORC Center for Public Research found that about half of adults say they have “hardly any confidence at all” in the people who serve in Congress. The Federal Times reports: “The lack of faith extends beyond Congress, with recent polling conducted both before and after the leadership meltdown finding a mistrust in everything from the courts to organized religion.”

The Federal Times article further says that:

  • 53% of adults have little confidence in the leadership of Congress;
  • 49% have hardly any confidence in the Executive Branch;
  • 36% have little confidence in the Judicial Branch;
  • 45% have little or no confidence that the news media report the news fully and accurately.

Why is this a threat? The eroding trust in government is causing a groundswell of voices in academia and the media to “dump” the Constitution and bypass institutions like Congress and the Supreme Court. For instance, in a recent open letter, Harvard law professor Mark Tushnet and San Francisco State University political scientist Aaron Belkin called upon President Joe Biden to defy rulings of the Supreme Court that he considers “mistaken” in the name of what they call “popular constitutionalism.” That trend is a dangerous move away from absolute legal standards and toward subjective situations and agenda-driven interpretations.

Politicians, too, are contributing to this erosion of public faith in government. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has openly questioned the legitimacy of the Supreme Court.

These increasingly aggressive attacks on our government institutions and the U.S. Constitution are troubling. After all, the Constitution is a contract between the government and the people, put into place to guarantee the people’s rights and freedoms and to protect against government overreach and corruption. And the three branches of government were put in place to provide a system of checks and balances in governmental authority.

We should not be surprised that the U.S. government and the Constitution are under attack. After all, they are institutions put in place by God: Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves (Romans 13:1–2).

Because government authority is an institution from God, it is a target for demonic activity, which causes power plays, deception, and corruption that erode public trust.

The U.S. government in particular has godliness embedded at its foundation. Its three branches reflect the roles that God laid out in Isaiah 33:22: judge, lawgiver, and king. The Constitution was written as a biblically based document. As John Adams wrote in a letter to the officers of the First Brigade, Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Godly government, guided by a Bible-based constitution, is important for the global Church. Such government continuously points to the Bible as God’s revelation to man, beckoning people to live in a right relationship with God. Of course, this is no substitute for the kingdom of God, which we can enter only through personal repentance leading to soul salvation. But good government is conducive to the spread of the gospel message and helps create an environment for the Church to grow, contributing significantly to worldwide fulfillment of the Great Commission.

The erosion of trust in a civil authority that is to maintain law and order and preserve rights and justice leads to social division and lawlessness. It brings division because we no longer accept any authority above us to unify us, and it brings lawlessness because we stop obeying the laws given and enforced by an authority we have ceased to trust.

All of this plays directly into Satan’s hand. His plan is to divide, conquer, and destroy us. If he can successfully create chaos in our government leading to a mistrust of authority, that mistrust will then overflow into other institutions, including the Church. According to the polls, this is precisely what is happening. And it is causing a mass exodus from what the emerging generation calls “organized religion” into loose forms of personal spirituality they call “none” — meaning, no affiliation with any established religion or system of belief. That is enough for Satan, who wants no one to identify with the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved.

If the erosion of trust in government and the Church continues to worsen, that can lead to our nation’s collapse, as people begin doing what is right in their own eyes, losing their moral compass, and opposing each other instead of uniting for the common good. A nation divided will fall. A nation bereft of moral conscience will destroy itself. A nation that turns its back on biblical moorings will embrace demonically inspired forms of religion and turn its back on the God of the Bible, on the salvation He has wrought for us, and on the blessing of being one nation under Him who was so involved in its foundation.

Losing the favor of God and turning away from His precepts are bigger threats to our future, our security, and the well-being of our nation than any terrorist group or opposing superpower.

This lends a sense of urgency to the Bible’s call to pray for our government (see 1 Timothy 2:1–4), in particular for restoration of the integrity of our leadership. Just as the election of unwise or corrupt leaders will lead to disastrous policies that destroy public trust, the reverse is also true: The election of godly men and women will lead to prayer-driven, wise policies that will restore public trust.

That is our beginning point for strategic prayer over the erosion of trust in our nation’s institutions. Let us pray that God would raises up strong candidates at every level of government: local, county, state, and federal, and for every branch: executive, legislative, and judicial. Hand in hand with that, let us pray that God would raise up a new generation of Spirit-filled, prayerful pastors and evangelists who handle His Word with love and without compromise. The results of such prayer will be far-reaching. God’s answers will restore to America a climate conducive to the growth of the Church and to the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The benefits of such a moral climate will be law and order, peace, and security — in other words, to liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness for all.

Father, thank You for all You deposited in the foundation of our country. Forgive us for turning away from Your precepts and embracing instead godless principles of government. We pray for Your hand of restraint against those who seek to actively undermine the biblical design of our government and our Constitution, and against the forces of darkness now at work to destroy us. Raise up godly men and women to run for office in every branch and level of government so that our nation will once again be directed by godly principles and by people who direct the citizenry to live in right relationship with You. Raise up a new generation of church leadership that will proclaim Your Word with wisdom, truth, and love, so that Your name will be trusted and worshipped, and Your Church will be trusted. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank you for your report. Yes, our country will crumble if we do not press in to speaking from the heart IN GOD We Trust, not just casually repeating the motto. Forgive us, Father, for falling away from godly truths, our foundation built on the Constitution. Playfully…

Yes, our greatest threat began centuries ago with insecure rich men, which was the beginning of the cabal and/or Illuminati. The ones with the idea had such low self esteem, they paid others to do their dirty work and the tentacles from these decisions have proceeded to entangle themselves in every area of our government, to include the White House. Presently, the hoax in the White House has been exposed, but has not been confronted.
God said, “all lies will out.” And that’s what fears the crooks.
It’s all in God’s timing.
We pray and we wait for God’s answer.
In the meantime, pray without ceasing.

Wonderful thoughts, verses, and comments. Thank you Remco Brommet!! Everything you shared was exactly right and exactly what we need to do. Let’s begin with prayer and action to elect Godly men and women. Let’s get back to our God-given constitution! Let’s put time into doing all God has for us todo as we give as much time as it takes to deep and sincere prayer to the Lord for direction from Holy Spirit to each one of us. God has plans for each of us and as we pray and obey, more will continue to happen as God continues to lead us back to the America 🇺🇸 we love and long for. Uniting and speaking up with no fear is needed. We far outnumber the radicals being used by the enemy to destroy our country. May the one world government come only at the time ordained by God. Have you noticed that God is already moving in different ways to restore the country He created and loves ? Some of the things God is doing are really funny as the ones that choose evil are dealt with and are left frustrated. God bless America!!

We haven’t had government “by the people, for the people” in decades! A lot of posturing and loud voices about what is going to be done – until nothing is done – and nothing is accomplished. Our government, at this point, is completely divided and partisan and neither party will work with the other to do the job they were voted in to do. If you tell me you’re a politician and your lips are moving, you’re lying….

Wow! I had no idea that a lack of faith on our 3 branches of government was turning us away from God’s design for our government. I’ll be praying more for the integrity of our government leaders. Thank you for your insight!

Thank you Remco for this well articulated article. I stand in full agreement with your prayer. LORD, as we repent and seek Your forgiveness and also Your divine help, please move in this nation as only You can. Raise up men and women after Your heart for every office in government. Let the offices and hallways be filled with Your servants. Let the church be filled with leadership that proclaims Your Word, guided by Holy Spirit in wisdom, truth and love. We desire Your name to be exalted in every church, with true worship and praise to You alone. May Your name be the name loved and revered above all else. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.

In light of this, American Family News is sounding the alarm about a proposed change in OSHA inspections – this change allowing third party inspections could potentially shut down churches and other Christian ministries if this is not intervened with prayers and action in the next several days.

https://afa.net/activism/action-alerts/2023/tell-osha-leave-our-churches-and-businesses-alone/

“If you are a church, it means a representative from the Freedom from Religion Foundation could serve on your OSHA inspection team…OSHA is empowered to fine businesses thousands of dollars for safety violations. They may even petition a court to shut down an employer.”

This is precisely why I am a “political head” because the government, especially the way that it is now, is a powerful agent of negative sowing. Unbelievers are NOT what they were during the day of our fathers. They are much more hardened against Christ Who gave all for us. Therefore, yes, let us pray for our government, but more importantly let us pray for the Lord to open the hearts of many in our nation such that they would cry unto their fellows that their rebellion is useless and detrimental.

I did not read the whole thing because this issue of dividing our country is everywhere !!! I have an awful grassroots example. The licorice commercial on hallmark on direct tv starts with “this country has never been so divided “. I will stop there. You see my point. The language is subtle in other places, but just as effective. I personally enjoy licorice; but I refuse to buy it anymore, at all. I prefer not to shop at Walmart and support the Chinese government, or Target for not supporting our military, Starbucks doesn’t want people of Faith who believe GOD’S WORD, in JESUS NAME’. HIS WORD IS CLEAR.: Don’t commit adultery, don’t steal; don’t lie; don’t covet (envy another person for things that they have been Blessed with. In reality, the Blessings laid up for you to discover are yours are far more desirable to you and for you.)
If I asked any one of you to break any one of these with me; I would believe you would be horrified. So why should the LBGTQ+ is asking others to agree with their sins (probably by deception of the enemy) expect us to agree with their sin clearly stated in GOD’S WORD; just like ours. Our sins are no less acceptable by GOD MOST HIGH, than theirs.
My heart goes out to them for the battle they are in. However, like ours, that batttle is THE LORD’S and HE HAS ALREADY WON IT FOR US !!!

Our Father in Heaven,
Ignorance of Your word and doing things our own way is the cause of so much heartache and needless suffering in the world. Grant us, I pray, a return to the reading of Your Holy Word in our homes, in our schools, in our institutions, in our government, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey the clear teachings of Holy Scripture which You so graciously provided for us.

The Lord Jesus died for us, the very least we can do is to read and learn from His teachings and let those teachings, by the power of the Holy Spirit. change our lives and change our government..

We have wrong priorities: GOD’s Word says:
FIRST OF ALL: 1 Timothy 2:1-3:
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.” FIRST OF ALL! How many church services or prayer groups begin with prayer in line with the clear teaching of scripture? “First of all . . . .”

The elephant in the room that is not being discussed here is the fraudulent and tyrannical WHO treaty amendment changes that our SENATE must IMMEDIATELY act on to prevent them from becoming active in the USA. We MUST get OUT of the WHO immediately and stop paying for it. We MUST make laws making it illegal to get BACK INTO this satanic cabal organization. CONTACT your senators immediately and tell them to do this NOW.

God IS in charge of the world in its entirety. Nothing goes past HIM. However, we should also be alert and aware of our enemy, Satan. Sitting back and allowing the new world order to take over (via WHO) without giving resistance is not right as an American or as a Christian.

Lord, OPEN the eyes of your children to see reality as it is….not as propaganda pushes. We DO depend on YOU for strength and wisdom.

Remco, I agree that Romans 13 clearly defines our responsibility to pray for civil authorities, so that our government can be used by God to establish “righteous rule and justice”. And I agree that we as Americans have been privileged to live in a constitutional republic, and I want that to continue.
But how that relates to the “church” is where I question your ideas. It is partially an issue of how we define some of the words used. To be clear, I don’t think the founding fathers defined religion as we even see it today. Though they were not all “believers”, the religion they were referring to, I would argue, was Christianity, and they saw it as an organization or institution. The freedom of religion they were referring to, was the freedom to practice their faith free from the constraints of a “state church” like the church of England. That was the separation of church and state discussion.
Today, religion is, and should be defined differently, because “any belief system” can be defined as a religion – human secularism, islam, Christianity, atheism, marxism, buddhism, atheism, nationalism, capitalism, communism, etc. ad nauseum. You might note that I do not see one of these things as ‘like the others’. Christianity can be a religion, but in reality it is not and should not be a religion, because true Christianity cannot be compared to these other belief systems. I say that because I define religion as “man’s attempt to create a god in his own image”. It sets up a plethora of idols, instead of the worship of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. “True Christianity” is a relationship of the ekklesia to the only true God, through His Son. Note I did not say a “personal relationship’, but the relationship of the ekkesia with their Abba. I do not believe in “lone ranger” expressions of faith. But it is also not an institution or an organization – it is an organism. It is held together by faith, and a belief in the authority of God and His Holy Word. It is not built by man, but by the LORD Himself, as He builds His spiritual house with us, His living stones. Now that is a glorious house!! But it isn’t meant to be ‘housed’ in a building of four walls – it is meant to be His corporate House, made up of individual temples of Holy Spirit.
The other thought I would like to put forth, is the idea that the distrust of the institution of government necessarily leads to a distrust in the “institution of the church” (the way most people define church). I would argue that as a society, when we turn away from the One True God, YHVH – all of the institutions which are often called the “7 mountains” become unclean and idolatrous in nature. And that includes the institution of religion. At that point, they should not be trusted because they are filled with anti-Biblical and anti-Christ doctrine. Hence, the exodus you mentioned – but not necessarily because of rebellion against ‘church’ authority, but submission to the greater authority of God’ Word and God Himself.
I agree that Godly government can create a climate conducive to church growth and fulfilling the Great Commission. But what it can do and what it actually does, may not be the same. I would argue that in America it has at times produced lethargy and complacency. We have wasted our freedom on selfish pursuits. I would also argue that in nations where the civil governments are the least ‘trustworthy’, and as a result I would argue the “7 mountains” are the least trustworthy – is where the Gospel is flourishing and the organism of the ekklesia is growing the fastest. Consider Iran, China, . . . I don’t desire the severe persecution that they must endure, but I do desire their dedication and devotion to Yeshua.
Abba, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.

    Remco, I am replying to my own comment to say, “I’m sorry if I sounded disrespectful of you, or what you believe, or if I led others to an attitude of disrespect.” I just watched the prayer call, and I want to stress that I do respect you as a Christian brother, and the humble spirit in which you express yourself. You are a Godly example of a righteous man, and I’m thankful you are making a clear call to men of faith to rise up and lead their families spiritually.

Yes, the government was established by God, and IS to be based on His values. However, there is NO place in His word that proclaims we are to be trusting on government to solve our problems. Until we get our eyes on God and God alone, we will continue to fail!

“Raise up a new generation…” when I read these words I felt a jolt of encouragement.

New International Version
Isaiah 58 11 The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,

John 6:43“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied. 44“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’e Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me— 46not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.

    Dear Lord and God, You can do all things so I pray You will raise up today, from this generation, children, men and women, who will seek You. Strengthen and guide them to repair and restore what we have ignored. May they honor You in action and not just idle words. In this day Lord, I pray You will satisfy our thirst for Godly leaders from Your well of living water. I ask this and so much more in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

YES: our Constitution is a Bible-based founding document for our U.S.A. Re: religion, banking, etc.: the quality prophets have been teaching us to pray God “Fix” the 7 mountains of influence: religion, family, government, arts & entertainment, economics, education, media . . . sometimes I forgot 1. Johnny Enlow said approx. 1 yr. ago God Gave him a vision. Shown were these 7 mountains. Then God’s Left Hand Came & Swiped off the tops of all these 7 mountains, with God Saying that He Is Going To Remove the mafia off the tops of these mountains. I believe that all the “leaders” of these mountain tops have acted, talked, written, & voted like mafia; also act, talk, etc. like their father the devil satan. JOHN 8:44; JOHN 10:10: he comes to steal, kill, & destroy. Like all of you have said, we MUST KEEP PRAYING according to God’s Word & Leadings. God Bless you all abundantly!

While still living in Texas we had the privilege of voting for Ted Cruz in the primary, the runoff, and the Senate race in 2012. We moved back to North Carolina in 2014. Dr Michael Brown was handing out pocket-sized copies of the Constitution at Ted’s Greenville S.C. rally in 2015 when Ted ran for President. I picked up a copy for each of my grandsons. Our Grandson Nick was given an assignment in his 5th Grade Civics class to create a power-point presentation of which candidate he would vote for in the 2016 Presidential Election, then present it to the class. Nick chose Ted Cruz. North Carolina is ground zero for progressive satanic activity (particularly here in Wake/Woke County), so I didn’t know how Nick’s teacher would receive his presentation. I was pleasantly surprised when she gave him 25 extra points (a grade of 125) …

I stand in agreement Father with your other followers who want your help in putting People in charge over us who KNOW and FOLLOW you. Who have a personal relationship with you themselves and will use that relationship and knowledge to lead us in a better way than we have been heading. Father, I know your word is real and that you mean what you say and say what you mean. Please give us Leaders in America (every state, every office) that will do likewise. We have so many saying one thing and then doing another. Since you alone are God and in charge, we ask that YOUR WILL be done. Promote leaders that know and love you and your commandments. In the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen

The US Consitution is antithetical to the Bible and makes a god out of “We the People”.

The First Amendment respects no religion and denies no religion…..
The First Commandment says have NO OTHER GOD before me……

these are polar opposites
