I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You that You are a father to the fatherless.  We thank you that even this day, You are not leaving them fatherless, but You are making Yourself known to them.  (Ps 58:5, John 14:28)
Reading Time: 3 minutes

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.7 million children live in a fatherless home—1 in every 4 children, which is more than in any other country in the world. This is a crisis that is affecting all of us as we experience the fruit of absentee fathers.

Statistics reveal children who are raised without a father present are:

  • 4 times more likely to live in poverty
  • 7 times more likely to become a pregnant teen
  • 2 times more likely to drop out of school
  • More likely to commit a crime
  • More likely to become addicted to drugs and alcohol

Sadly, this is just a few of the ways absentee fathers are affecting our children and our world.

As we can see, this is a crisis in America.  The question is, how do we turn it around?

Scripture tells us God has a good plan and future for the fatherless. Our part is to pray His plan into the earth.

Malachi 4:5 says, “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”

Even in the days of Malachi, God saw the need of the hearts of fathers to be restored to their children and He promises to do just that.

It is evident we have not yet seen this promise fulfilled – but we will.  It is an amazing word from the Lord that we need to declare and call forth in prayer.

Prayer is the foundation needed to begin to change fatherlessness and see it become a thing of the past.  So, how do we pray?

  • Pray for God to reveal Himself as Father to the fatherless.
  • Pray that God would push back all oppression and darkness from their life.
  • Pray for God to unlock and release all anger from their heart.
  • Pray that God would heal and restore the hearts of the fatherless.

That’s just a few of the ways we can pray for the fatherless.

Still there are times it feels like words are not enough.  When words fail us, we must let Scripture speak.

Father, we thank You that You are a father to the fatherless.  We thank you that even this day, You are not leaving them fatherless, but You are making Yourself known to them.  (Ps 58:5, John 14:28)

We thank You, that in You, the fatherless find compassion.  (Hos 14:3)

We ask You to defend the cause of the fatherless and maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.  We ask You to execute justice for the fatherless, provide them daily with food and clothing.  (Ps 82:3, Dt. 10:18)

God has made us a promise that He will visit the fathers and the fatherless.  He will turn their hearts back to each another.  This promise will be fulfilled before the coming of the Lord.  God has done His part. Now it’s time for us to do our part and call it forth.

So what do you think is “our part”? Please share in the comments!

(Editor’s note: If you would like to understand the wound of fatherlessness from a personal level, I highly recommend Unashamed by Lecrae Moore. I listened to the audiobook, read by Lecrae, and I would recommend this version because you hear his heart in his voice—it is poignant. Lecrae is a famous Christian rapper and he tells his story well. I believe that this book is absolutely for NOW. Lecrae grew up in the inner city, without a father. He explains the rage we are seeing. If you want deeper, and more personal, understanding of the impact of the crisis of fatherlessness in our nation, read this book.)

As I was reading through Hosea in devotion after reading this, I believe the Lord showed me a key to help unlock the anger and hurt in their hearts. I’m asking my fellow intercessors to help me bring the sins of our fathers’ to the throne of God to obtain healing for the generational lines!!!

“I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.” – Hosea 5:15

“Hear the word of the LORD, You children of Israel, For the LORD brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, Killing and stealing and committing adultery, They all break restraint, With bloodshed upon bloodshed. Therefore the land will mourn; And everyone who dwells there will waste away With the beasts of the field And the birds of the air; Even the fish of the sea will be taken away.” – Hosea 4:1-3

Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fellow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you. You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies, Because you trusted in your own way, In the multitude of your mighty men. Therefore TUMULT shall arise among your people, And all your fortresses shall be plundered.” – Hosea 9:12-14

Daniel, Ezra, and Nehemiah were men of prayer who fasted and prayed: confessing the sins of land – they saw GOOD results.

I am asking the people who are called by God’s name to sit with our Father today and ask for the insight in prayer to obtain healing for the generations!!!

The Spirit can only go where the blood of Jesus is applied!!!

I am so touched to pray for the fatherless and I know as a single parent, the challenges can be overwhelming. The Father hears and moves on my behalf.

In 1928 my grandfather died of pneumonia as there were no antibiotics invented yet. He left behind a wife and eleven of thirteen surviving children. She did not speak English. Could not get a job. They lived in a row home in Philadelphia. They split the house in half, rented the front half out and were only allowed to keep the house because he was on the local counsel. She had to go on welfare. Eight dollars a week and eventually had to pay some back because they gave her “too much”. The older children had to quit high school or not go to high school at all because they had to go to work to support her and their siblings. My point is none of them became drug addicts, murderers etc. Seems like “no father in the home” is more of an excuse. This next statement is going to upset some. I once heard a Black man, although I don’t like to mention color, say that the worst enemy or a black child is their mother and the words that come out of her mouth. A few days later I was in a store and there was a black mother there with her two children. The older one was about 6 years old. He was not doing anything but she unloaded on him with nasty vile words. Words kill. They kill your spirit. I remember the day my spirit died from my mother’s words. How can we change this. Somehow we the church need to put feet to our prayers. If only the church hadn’t sat silent when prayer and the Bible were being taken out of public schools. It created mayhem. I look at the rioters and think if only they had the word of God to guide them. Prayer works but is it enough.

I encourage everyone to read Courts of Heaven and the one on Devine Restraining Orders! We’re in a spiritual battle for our families and we must break Satan’s legal rights to attack our families with death, divorce, lust and sexual perversion!!! I’m a single mom and the struggles are real!

As orphans, fatherless because of World War II, and then motherless some few years later–I would like to tell you that GOD revealed Himself to us kids and we lived happily ever after.

But that was not the case–we three kids had next door neighbors who carried their big black Bibles to church every Sunday–Did they ever ask if there was anything they could do to help us? No.
Did they ever invite us to go to church with them? No.
Did they offer to bring us food–sometimes we were hungry. No.
Did they offer to help us in any way? No.

Years later when I, by the grace and mercy of GOD, was saved, but was going through a severe trial because of illness, a woman in my church asked me if I was doing okay. I nodded. Then she told me that GOD had told her three times that week to call me, but that she didn’t do it. To which she added, “Oh, I knew GOD would take care of you!” I didn’t have the heart to tell her just how difficult that week had been, and that nobody had come to help me when I was in such desperate need of help–I was so ill. store.

All this to say: GOD is indeed the Father of the fatherless, but if you don’t obey His promptings and become His hands and feet and go to their aid, likely they will never know the truth of Hosea 14:3.

“No Child Without A Dad”

America is at a tipping point! We are on the brink of losing all we once held dear…

Author, Coach, and International Consultant, Paul Benjamin Sr., unpacks powerful principles gleaned from his four decades of ministering to fatherless youth, men, women, and communities. This book will help readers understand the “Why” behind:

• The Trayvon Martin shooting in Sanford, Florida, and how it was used to fundamentally transform America…which gave birth to… Black Lives Matter
• 90% of crimes are committed by fatherless young men?
• 9 out 10 black youths in urban America are growing up without their dads in the home?
• Many women are angry with President Trump?
• You can know who will be our next President?
• The Parkland School Shooting in Florida could have been avoided if the leaders knew the information in this book.
• Teen girls and boys are cutting, and committing suicide?
• There is an Opioid Drug Epidemic, Gender Identity Conflict, and Increased Mental Health Disorders?
What do all of these problems have to do with the Fatherless Pandemic in America?
Curious yet? Then, this book is a must-read!

Father in Heaven, touch the hearts of all the men in our country. Give them hearts of compassion. Drive out the idols from among them, and open their eyes to see Your goodness. Loose all bitterness and resentment from their hearts, fill them with Your Holy Spirit love. May they love You with all of their heart, soul, and mind. Let them delight in the love of their wives and see their children as blessings. May they turn away from all evil and speak up for those who are oppressed. May they not love and worship money, but instead, be good stewards of it in order to bless the world. Bring those men into the kingdom who have yet to accept you as Savior. Send laborers who will share Your truth with them. Crush the oppressor under their feet. (Greater are You who is in me than he that is in the world.) Show the men how to fight the good fight of faith. Help us as women be suitable helpers. Let our trust in You guide our words and actions. Lord, turn the hearts of the men in this country to You and turn their hearts back to their families. Restore the broken relationships in Your name, Jesus, and for Your glory.
Amen.

Lord please help fathers to be more like You. Heavenly Father I am thankful that You have been there for me. You Lord have blessed me with a good earthly father. Give fathers, strength, wisdom, courage and whatever else they need to be the best that they can be for their families. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Having a father & mother in the home is a start. Parenting is hard work, it costs everything and due diligence, especially when children are added. Both husband and wife must keep Jesus at the helm as Parenting is really Discipleship. And it works best when dad and mom are Disciples first.

Satan will attack EVERYTHING Father establishes. Marriage, family, churches, Godliness in all its expressions. Yet we must endure to keep His standard of Life lifted high. Love is the bond of all unity.

Father, send us a sweeping Lord’s Supper Revival to the Church. So much so, that we would look back and say ‘we were never saved, not like now! ‘

We are now also reaping the harvest of motherlessness. With fathers absent, many mothers have no choice but to work, and work some more. Even in two parent homes, mothers are too often more focused on their paying jobs than on rearing responsible children into responsible adults. Missing the formative years of their children’s daily lives while surrendering them to the brainwashing of the culture has resulted in a crop of snowflakes and radical rebels. Praise God for those who take parenting seriously, teaching them along the way as prescribed in Deuteronomy 6

Our Father in heaven,
Holy is Your Name. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We thank You that we can pray 24/7.
Please forgive our sins as we forgive others who sins against us.

Malachi 4:5 says, “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.”

Father God, let the Body of Christ always in Light and Wisdom. Let us bring back the foundation of a nation: YOU first and FAMILY second. Help us to bring back the covenant of marriage of man and woman. Let us (husband and wife) diligently remember and do EPHESIANS 5:
22 WIVES, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
25 HUSBAND, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might [g]sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
30 For we are members of His body, [h]of His flesh and of His bones.
31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

So that we, Christians Biblical Family Foundation, may once again be the example in America. Father God, with YOU everything is possible.

Thank You Father for You Are MERCIFUL, FAITHFUL, OMNIPRESENCE, OMNISCIENCE and OMNIPOTENCE.
You Are the ONE and ONLY LIVING GOD that can see human soul, heart and their intention. Your power is beyond our understanding. Your Holy Spirit is in us teaching us to walk according to the path that You created for us before the foundation of the world.
We love You, Father.
Thank You for loving us first. For Yours is the glory forever and ever.
May the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be upon us all from today onward.
In Jesus’ holy, mighty, majestic, and matchless name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise you that each believer may cry out to you, Abba, Father! We thank you for the spirit of adoption which enables us to cry out to you as our heavenly Daddy. We thank you as well for the spirit of reconciliation, which frees us to call out to others, be reconciled to God. We ask you to instill the fullness of the power of that knowledge, and embolden us to share the truth with others. We ask you to raise up men of God who will proclaim it to other men.

Father, without you it is impossible to handle the fatherless problem in our country. But as you become father to the fatherless this chaos can begin to change. Let the fathers realize their responsibility to their children. Draw them back to their families. Let them repent and ask forgiveness. I come against the spirit of selfishness and decree love to reign. Lord, I pray for dreams and visions to stir their hearts and draw them to you.

Agree and Amen! That is something the Lord put on my heart many years back; I felt it emotionally but didn’t totally understand it spiritually. It has taken time and the Holy Spirit opening my eyes. Now I see and it is so much more.
I pray for the wounds of those whose Fathers walked away from their children’s lives
For those whose Fathers were under the influence of alcohol or drugs and could not reach out to their children due to their own needs
For those who lived with Fathers in abusive situations, physically and or verbally
For those who have Fathers who are preoccupied with work or other activites
For those who know nothing of their inheritance through the Fathers of Faith
For those who know nothing, or little truth about our Founding Fathers in this country
And for those who know nothing about our Loving Heavenly Father, Who, knows We all long to be acknowledged, accepted and loved and desires to give it to All
