During Thanksgiving 2017, retired three-star general Michael Flynn was somberly making plans to head to court and plead guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI during a late January 2017 interview, his reputation in tatters and his bank account drained.

A day before Thanksgiving this year, a jubilant Flynn took a phone call from President Trump to learn his conviction had been erased by a full pardon.

In between, a legal drama of epic proportions unfolded, one that exposed deep flaws with the FBI, the Justice Department and a news media industry that had been sold a story with many conflicting secrets.

The dramatic reversal of the Flynn case began with the determination of a new lawyer, Sidney Powell, who took over the former Trump national security advisor’s defense and relentlessly fought to unseal evidence of innocence the government had long tried to conceal.

Here are the 10 biggest (and belated) disclosures that Powell forced to light that turned the tide in a case that became a symbol of prosecutorial excesses during the Russia collusion case.

  1. Case Closure Memo. Weeks before the FBI sought to interview Flynn, the lead FBI agent who had investigated the retired general for five months wrote a memo to close the investigation on Jan. 4, 2017, concluding he had found “no derogatory” evidence that Flynn committed a crime or posed a national security threat. FBI management then ordered the closure to be rescinded and pivoted toward trying lure Flynn into an interview.
  2. Agent’s ‘Get Trump’ Confession. In an extraordinary interview with prosecutors this fall, the FBI agent who led the Flynn case, William Barnett, admitted there was never evidence of wrongdoing by the retired general or Russian collusion by Trump, but the probe was kept open by Special Counsel Robert Mueller because his team was obsessed with punishing the president.  “With respect to Flynn’s [phone call] with the Russian ambassador in December 2016 BARNETT did not believe Flynn was being directed by TRUMP. BARNETT did not believe FLYNN had any additional information to provide SCO. Barnett believed the prosecution of Flynn by SCO was used as a means to ‘get TRUMP,’” the interview stated.
  3.  Not a Russian agentA Justice Department memo exonerated Flynn of Russia collusion on Jan. 30, 2017, nearly a year before he pled guilty. “The FBI did not believe Flynn was acting as an agent of Russia,” the DOJ memo states.
  4. Playing Games.’ The rush to interview Flynn in the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing created significant concerns for Assistant FBI Director for Counterintelligence William Priestap, who poignantly questioned whether the bureau was “playing games” with the interview strategy. “What is our goal?,” Priestap wrote in his handwritten notes that suddenly turned up as evidence in spring 2020. “Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?”
  5. Infamous Obama White House meeting. Ordinarily, the White House steers clear of any involvement in FBI criminal investigations. But notes and records that turned up earlier this year show the FBI briefed President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden on Jan. 5, 2017 on the state of the Flynn case. The president gave an instruction for the FBI to put its best people on continuing the probe while Biden suggested considering using the Logan Act to prosecute Flynn, the memos suggest.
  6. No deception. The FBI agents who interviewed Flynn, including the now-fired Peter Strzok, did not believe Flynn intended to lie or be deceptive in his interview. “Strzok provided his view that Flynn appeared truthful during the interview,” a memo from Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s team stated
  7. Logan Act threat wasn’t real. DOJ officials immediately did not believe Flynn could realistically be prosecuted under the Logan Act for his conversations with the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe testified he was told such a prosecution was a “long shot,” and former Assistant Attorney General Mary McCord “said that upon learning of Flynn’s phone calls with Ambassador Kislyak, a Logan Act prosecution seemed like a stretch to her,” DOJ memos say.
  8. DOJ heartburn. Senior Justice officials expressed concern and alarm at the way the FBI was treating Flynn, including trying to interview him without the normally required notification to the Trump White House. Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates expressed significant concern that White House officials weren’t being advised. “The interview was problematic from Yates’ perspective because, as a matter of protocol and courtesy, the White House Counsel’s Office should have been notified beforehand,” a DOJ memo stated
  9. Disguising a required warning. FBI officials debated whether they could avoid, disguise or slip in the required FBI admonition against lying to agents at the start of Flynn’s interview to keep him off guard. “It would be an easy way to just casually slip that in,” FBI lawyer Lisa Page texted during the discussions
  10. FBI Deception. James Comey bragged in a videotaped interview that he authorized the FBI to try to conduct a Flynn interview without the proper notifications and protocol, hoping to catch Flynn and the new Trump White House off guard. In other words, they didn’t follow procedure or treat Flynn like others when it came to due process. Comey said the tactic was “something I probably wouldn’t have done or maybe gotten away with in a more organized administration

The day is coming when all of us are going to have to appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ and give an account of the deeds done in the body, whether good or bad. God deals with truth and justice. He is not a respecter of persons.

I am very thankful that Gen. Flynn has been given a pardon. However, I wonder if this man will be given financial compensation for the horrific trauma he and his family have been put through. This should never happen to any innocent person in these United States. I trust in time President Trump will bring about a measure of justice against those who lied about Gen. Flynn and forced him and his family to experience tremendous loss and trauma.

I thank God for Pres. Trump and heroes like General Flynn.

Father, I thank You for the wisdom You gave President Trump in pardoning Michael Flynn. Proverbs 16:10 “The king or leader makes a decision under divine inspiration, he must never render an unfair judgment.” :11 You, Eternal require that business be conducted honestly, You want fairness in all our dealings. A leader’s administration should be built on justice – President Trump proves he is a man who conducts his responsibilities as Commander and Chief of the United States to do so honestly. Kings tell the truth and they adore those who set the record straight. We don’t understand why someone is put through such horrendous things but we believe and ask that You would cause all things to work together for good for Michael Flynn’s future and that it would be a prosperous one favored by You. We know You are pleased with the good choice President Trump made in pardoning Michael Flynn. Thank You for giving President Trump a wise heart – I pray from his wise heart would continue to flow careful words making his lips more persuasive. I ask that You would favor President Trump in all he does for Your name sake, Your word says those who trust in the Eternal will experience Your favor. It is obvious You have chosen President Trump to be a man with a good heart for this nation’s benefit. I ask Father that You continue to uncover the deceptive tactics of the enemy, bring new light to corruption and bring Your just judgments where they are needed. I believe You are a good, good Father and have the interests of Your nation, the United States of America at heart and will confirm his next four years in office. I remind You of Your words in Proverbs 16 “We may try to control the roll of the dice, but actually, the Eternal decided what they will determine” – thank You for being in control – we trust Your outcome will be as righteous as You are, thank You for the blood of Your Son covering us all. Be glorified in these days of awe and wonder. We choose to draw from Your wisdom and grace continually.

I thank the LOrd that Gen Flynn received that Pardon. His accusations were purely political with no basis in laws of any of it.
The evil workers in our U. S. Government must be removed and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. To say there was a “deep state” is an understatement. It was political warfare based on fraud, lies, deception and false accusations.
Thank you, dear Lord for justice for that innocent man at last. And, Lord, I thank you for a President that has the courage to do what is rigth no matter the cost. Amen

How great is our God! It has been a long tortuous path for such a great patriot. And thank God for our President who rewards men of honor and valor such as General Flynn. Psalm 31:19, 20 “How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.”
I pray that General Flynn may be part of the government cleaning that needs to be done.

God’s people are praying constantly for this to be resolved. Intercessors For America is keeping us up to date with that horrendous
crime against our beloved President, people that care about him and the
many people who have fallen into such awful straits by the horrible crooks in our gov’t. May they all be defeated and our prayers are ever
with Sidney Powell and her people to resolve this quickly and may our
President win this horrible extended election that was planned for so
long to defeat him. God is in his Heavens and sees all and we pray to
Him to help this craziness to be ended. In Jesus’ name we humbly pray.

Thank you Father for allowing me the honor to join in prayer for this cause of justice. It was beautiful to watch the hand of God move for righteousness, for truly “five can chase a hundred and a hundred can chase ten thousand of the enemies of God.” We have only the Lord to give thanks to and I pray He will restore the Powell Family as He did to Job. May the Name of the Lord be exalted.

Hopefully Mike Flynn will also now be reimbursed for every dollar and cent he has been forced to pay in his lawful fight for his own honour and the safety of his family.
Add to that a ten million dollar “Apology Payment” from the combined budgets of all the agencies which connived and colluded in this appalling charade of “American (in)Justice”.

Thank you, Lord for beginning the vindication process for this innocent man. We pray that justice and truth will prevail and his innocence and victimization will be made as well known as the lies spoken against him and attempts to destroy his life. You love justice so we ask You to uphold Your word and cause unrepentant evildoers to reap what they have sown and that everything stolen from General Flynn will be restored and multiplied back to him so that You turn what the enemy intended for harm into good. We thank You for Your faithfulness and protection over us, Your children, and ask these petitions in the mighty name of Jesus.

This whole sick scenario is so vile it defies description. God promises, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). The corruption and duplicity of what was once a respected FBI and Justice Department has now been exposed…but too late to give General Flynn what he wanted most–exoneration. He deserved no less.

All along, Flynn held out for a public declaration of his innocence so the American people would know he had done nothing wrong. Now he will live the rest of his life with a cloud of guilt over his head in the minds of most people–who are miserably uninformed, and kept that way by a corrupt press. Flynn hoped it wouldn’t have to come to a Presidential pardon. He deserved full-throated exonaeration by the courts. Judge Emmet Sullivan, who defied a higher court to hold Flynn hostage, should at the very least be impeached and Comey should be ushered into the cell they had readied for Flynn.

Flynn is grateful for the pardon, of course! But how much more gratifying it would have been to have the courts rule publically and with great fanfare that he was innocent, having been set up by an evil nest of criminals.

One day this poisonous cabal WILL be held to account by Almighty God in the Final Judgment. But sometimes we believers long to see just a sliver–a glimmer–a smidgeon of justice on this earth. As the Psalmist said, “I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the LAND OF THE LVING.” Sincere congratulations to General Flynn–but not the outcome he most deserved.

And now with all the disclosures, it’s time to sue the FBI and Justice Department, holding Obama, Biden, Comey, McCabe, McCord, Yates, Strzok, Mueller, Sullivan, etc, so that he will receive tenfold back what was stolen from him. Father we pray for full exoneration and restitution for this good man, General Flynn.

Every truth will come to light! If not in earth courts then in the courts of Heaven!
In earths time frame they will have time to repent of evil doings and find forgiveness for their soul!
So hopefully the Truth will rise to the surface.
