Lifemark Movie Celebrating Adoption Jumps to 2nd at the Box Office

Kirk Cameron’s new adoption film “Lifemark” has been a huge success at the box office, coming in at No. 2 and prompting producers to expand showings in theaters across the country.
The Daily Wire reports Cameron, who stars in the film, celebrated audiences’ overwhelming reception over the weekend on social media.
“Have you heard the good news about Lifemark?” Cameron wrote on Facebook. “1,100 theaters asked to keep it for one more week. We said, ‘YES!’”
The Christian actor thanked audiences for supporting the film, noting how it came in No. 2 at the box office and has a 97-percent audience approval on the film website Rotten Tomatoes.
Cameron said audiences have described the film as “deeply moving,” “heart-warming” and “inspiring.”
“Lifemark” opened in theaters Sept. 9 on limited release, but the film has been doing so well that showings have been extended through Sept. 22, according to Crosswalk.
Starring Cameron and produced by the Kendrick Brothers (“War Room,” “Fireproof”), the movie celebrates the life-giving choice of adoption through the true story of Louisiana native David Scotton. Adopted as an infant, Scotton grows up in a loving home.
