Pro-Life Missouri AG Eric Schmitt Wins Republican Senate Primary as Republicans Try to Retake Senate

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, who repeatedly has fought for protections for unborn babies, won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate on Tuesday in the state.
The Missouri Independent reports the pro-life attorney general easily defeated the other Republican candidates, securing 45 percent of the vote. Missouri has an open U.S. Senate seat because U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt is retiring.
In his victory speech, Schmitt promised to fight against “President Biden’s all out assault on our liberties” and protect freedom for his children and others’, according to the report.
A former state senator, he has a long record of fighting to protect children, born and unborn. One voter told the Independent that she voted for Schmitt because of his actions to combat human trafficking.
He also has fought for protections for babies in the womb. This includes defending a Missouri law that protects unborn babies with Down syndrome and other disabilities from discrimination.
