Man Sentenced to Prison for Trying to Spike Girlfriend’s Drink With Abortion Pill After She Refused Abortion

A Wisconsin man will spend five years in prison after he tried to trick a pregnant woman into aborting their unborn baby by spiking her drink with abortion drugs.
Wausau Daily Herald reports Jeffrey S. Smith, 36, formerly of Grand Rapids and now of Deerwood, Minnesota, was convicted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child in the 2018 incident.
On Friday, a judge sentenced Smith to five years in prison followed by 15 years of extended supervision; he also prohibited Smith from contacting the victim or her children, according to the report.
The woman, who is not named in reports, was 20 weeks pregnant when Smith attempted to abort their unborn baby, according to authorities. She told police that Smith was the father and he was pressuring her to have an abortion.
In January 2018, the woman said she thought Smith spiked her water bottle with an abortion drug while she was in the bathroom. Later, she said she noticed “residue” in the bottom of the water bottle and did not drink it…. (Excerpt from LIFENEWS.COM)
