Amidst new bills and fights, DeSantis is preparing for the gubernatorial elections in November. We must pray for him to receive wisdom.

Florida Senate Bill 524 created the Office of Election Crimes and Security under Florida’s State Department. The newly created office is allowed to review allegations of voter fraud and conduct preliminary investigations into the allegations.

Before this law, Florida’s governor could appoint officers to investigate alleged violations of state election law. According to the AP, it is now mandatory for the governor to select a group of special officers from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to handle election law violations.

The law also designated ballot harvesting as a third-degree felony, increased fines for certain election law violations, and mandated more frequent maintenance of the state’s voter list….

From Daily Mail. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is going into his November re-election bid having racked up more than $105 million in donations, the most recent campaign data show.

The popular GOP official has been floated as a potential 2024 presidential nominee, and his massive war chest at the end of March is more typical of a national candidate than one running for state office.

He’s the first gubernatorial candidate in Florida history to pull in nine figures through donations alone — 138,221 of them, according to campaign filings.

DeSantis’ name has dominated headlines in recent months amid a heated ideological battle with the Walt Disney Company over his ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, and signing legislation making sweeping conservative reforms to abortion access, election security and education.

That includes a bill banning Critical Race Theory from being taught in public schools and his Parental Rights In Education law — which Disney publicly opposes — that prohibits instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade and mandates it be ‘age-appropriate’ otherwise.

DeSantis’ campaign saw nearly 950 donations that brought in roughly $30,000 in just a single day when his campaign sent out its first anti-Disney fundraising email, according to a breakdown by the Tampa Bay Times.

More than 500 people donated a sum total of about $18,000 after a second email blasting the entertainment giant was sent out less than a week later….

Republican donors have poured in their cash in response. And unlike most gubernatorial races, DeSantis has been seeing a range of payments — small and large — from states like California, Virginia, Ohio and others….

Meanwhile recent reforms passed under DeSantis are guaranteed to have a significant impact on millions of Floridians….

Last week, the Sunshine State’s legislature passed the governor’s proposal for a new Congressional district map that is expected to give Republicans a whopping four new seats and likely erasing three Democratic ones….

For his own part, DeSantis has not said whether he’s interested in running for president in 2024, deflecting any questions by insisting his focus remains on getting re-elected in Florida in November.

But his resistance to ruling the idea out altogether has reportedly rankled former President Donald Trump, according to previous reports.

Trump’s support of DeSantis launched him from another member of Congress from Florida to a Republican superstar and into the governor’s mansion in Tallahassee.

Both politicians have dismissed rumors that they have anything other than a ‘good relationship.’

Trump also still comes out ahead of DeSantis in most polls of Republican voters. Though in polls where Trump is not involved, the Florida leader often dominates the list.
