A California city recently decided to give its transgender residents a universal basic income. Although this was does for the sake of inclusivity, some who identify with the LGBT community have criticized it.
From Fox News. A California city is planning to give universal basic income (UBI) to transgender and nonbinary residents.
Transgender residents in Palm Springs, California are eligible to receive a UBI of up to $900 per month solely for identifying as transgender or nonbinary — no strings attached.
The new pilot program will have $200,000 set aside for allocation after a unanimous vote by the Palm Springs City Council last week.
The city stated that the program is only for individuals who meet a poverty threshold….
Palm Springs Mayor Lisa Middleton, who is transgender, pointed to the transcript from the city council’s March 24 meeting where she “expressed strong reservations in general to guaranteed income programs.”
“I specifically stated that I did not believe such programs could scale up to adequately respond to the over 37 million Americans living below the poverty line, the over 6 million Californians or the over 400,000 in the County of Riverside living below the poverty [line],” Middleton said in an email, praising Brinkman for his work and expressing her “concern for the financial vulnerability of the transgender community.”
“Transgender Americans suffer extremely high rates of under and unemployment. Transgender Americans face enormous challenges living full and authentic lives,” the mayor said. “Those challenges have increased substantially in the past few years as transgender children and their families have been targeted by extremist legislators and governors.”
Middleton added she believes a UBI program is a “county, state and federal responsibility,” not a “municipal” one.
“My vote to affirm that evening was procedural to provide $200,000 to DAP in order to help them in the application for state funding. In advance of the vote I specifically stated my belief that guaranteed income programs were not the long-term way to proceed. I did not commit to any future funding of guaranteed income programs….”

The ignorant and discriminatory nature of this is blatantly obvious and I don’t believe it can withstand any honest court challenge.
There was a time..I remember it -,I’m 68 years old n when evil- wrong thinking- foolishness.. would be called out for what they were- and the root issue would be addressed.
This issue is just another root issue.. manifesting evil fruit-distorted flowers of deception.. and twisted perception of reality.
We can continue.. to go on and on, praying about all of these various issues- that we are being swamped with- and as has been stated elsewhere- make no mistake.. that is the purpose of this deluge of insanity- from all walks of life.. and from all different points of view- and perspective, – and that is.. you flood our society and our life.. with so much Insanity.. that we forget who we are.. and what we’re supposed to do.. and what we’re supposed to do, is, go to the root of the issue.. Which is human race has separated itself from God.. and Satan is running the show- and this fruit that is being born is the evil manifestation of it.. so the only prayer I can pray is-,..
Lord that your Holy Spirit would move in the hearts and minds of people as they are eventually and very soon forced to their knees- out of frustration- and return to you and that you can heal our land. and I guess that’s…2nd chronicles 7:14 -,pretty much sums it up.

The enemy is so afraid of people KNOWING who they REALLY are and who they were meant to be in Christ that it will try to get them to not even know if they are male or female, some think they are even animals. We KNOW where this comes from and it’s not a mental issue but a spiritual one! This is bribery form the enemy to gain a spiritual hold on people who would not otherwise agree with it, but for money will agree to anything. The enemy is desperate to get agreement from anywhere it can, and this is yet another ploy from the serpent to go after souls. God, we reject all of this in Jesus name and send it up to You to destroy it! Set all “confused” people free from what’s REALLY attacking them and show them who You CREATED them to be! Show them Your POWER! Holy Spirit come! Lord Jesus come!

Why are we given this money to people that has choose to live certain live style? Why the mayor of Palm Spring thinks that tax payers need to pick up the tab? I worked for the school district in Northern California, we need supplies a teacher only get $200.00 a year to buy supplies, our students need help the elderly, single parents need affordable housing and what about the epidemic of illegal drugs affecting children, households, homelessness, and right now we have a horrible inflation that affects the working class not the rich people. Major Lisa Middleton need to reconsider the repercussion of her decisions affection the people she represents.
Father, I lift up the community of Palm Springs as they venture into this pilot program of handing out money to transgenders, this is such a poor and evil use of money! There are so many other needs, there are so many other people who need assistance. Why does the voice and push from a few seem to profit? You O Lord are just and fair, You O Lord have asked us to care for the orphans and the widows; open the eyes of the blind to have a heart of compassion that is aligned with Your heart and with Your desires of mankind. Quicken Your Justice to prevail, may Your Judgement be upon those who mock Your decrees; Your will be done for the glory of Your Almighty Name!

Universal Basic Income is a way to make more people dependent on government, therefore less free, – this grows government and shrinks the private sector – removes incentive to work and be self-sufficient, with fewer people working at real jobs, who is going to support all the people living off of a government handout? Once these programs start, they grow. Interesting – this transgender group is picked to be the recipients of UBI, which group is next? With equity, one group can’t receive a benefit denied to others. It is all about the equal outcome. So UBI will have to be made available to everyone basically – everyone is a part of some disenfranchised group, transgender is just the latest cause or supposedly persecuted group – also this will incentivize people to identify as transgender for the monetary benefit where before they would not have considered changing their sex. This is yet another way government is promoting evil right before our eyes by rewarding this changing of what God has made and calling it normal. Caring for those in need is the ministry of the church. This funding does not solve a problem. Shelter, food, education and employment allow families help needed to care for themselves. Handouts never helped anyone long term. Very interested in knowing who the “extreemist legislators and governors” are, and what actions they took which negatively impact transgender individuals and their families. We need revival, a transformation in believers and a shift in the heart of the Bride of Christ, where we truly love, embrace and serve individuals, and allow Father to work in their hearts and lives. We also remember the word: if we do not work, we do not eat.

Subsidiary charity—in love—requires person(al) response. If Palm Springs—a very wealthy enclave—is concerned about under employed individuals experiencing confusion about their God endowed identity, by all means provide shelter, clothing, and food — and employment opportunities—directly to those persons. However it is foolish and unjust to spend hard earned tax dollars to “pass the buck” to others, thereby annihilating the spirit of charity and disproportionately burdening others (who may be lower income but adversely impacted in today’s economy.)
