At a time of intense partisan divisions in Washington, D.C. the launch last week of a Congressional Abraham Accords Caucus was a very welcome development, indicative of bipartisan support for continuation and expansion of one of the most significant foreign policy achievements in decades.
The Abraham Accords, signed at the White House on Sept. 15, 2020, were the result of years of negotiations by the Trump Administration, especially Senior Adviser to President Trump Jared Kushner and Special Representative for International Negotiations Avi Berkowitz. . . .
The new Abraham Accords Congressional Caucus is a group of eight lawmakers — four Democrats and four Republicans, half from each house. The members are: Sens. James Lankford, R-Okla., Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Cory Booker, D-N.J.
Members additionally include, Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., David Trone, D-Md., Ann Wagner, R-Mo., and Brad Schneider, D-Ill.

These members of Congress realize the Abraham Accords were a historic breakthrough for two reasons. First, the Trump administration convinced Arab states that Iran was a common threat to their security, not Israel, which could be a friend and ally.
Second, Arab states moved beyond the Palestinians, who turned down a very generous agreement negotiated by Trump administration officials, and refused to give them a veto over making peace with Israel. . . .
The Abraham Accords Congressional Caucus is an important development since it will be a high-profile, bipartisan, and bicameral body promoting peace in the Mideast.
It’s rare instance when liberals in Congress put aside their hatred of Donald Trump, recognizing one of his initiatives as a major achievement for our nation.
This suggests that good policies can bridge the deep partisan divide in Washington.
The caucus should encourage the Biden administration to stand with one of America’s most important allies — Israel — by supporting the Abraham Accords and recruiting new members, including Saudi Arabia.
The caucus vindicates the hard work and unconventional thinking of the Trump presidency, one which rejected previous failed approaches to Mideast peace by the foreign policy establishment. By endorsing this initiative, the Abraham Accords Caucus will encourage other new approaches to promote U.S. national security while keeping our nation out of unnecessary wars.

Dear Lord, I praise you for the work of Donald Trump and Jared Kushner regarding the Abraham Accords Congressional Caucus. Thank you for the bicameral body working toward promoting peace in the Middle East. May you lead them and guide them and give them unity. May you strengthen them in their resolutions. May you give them success and may they give YOU all the glory. Bless your chosen people. To you be glory, honor, power and victory. In your Holy Name I pray, Jesus, Amen!
Having lived in the Middleast for years, having studied Islm and read the Koran, (their HOLY, holy book), it seems that no amount of clever foreign policy will erase what is preached in mosques throughout the world. Add to that the Islamc application of “Taquiya”, the practice of bald-faced lying to promote the “peace” of their religion, and it becomes intractable. According to the Koran, Israel is in bed with Satan and can never be trusted. Although the Koran directs mslms to go to “the people of the book”, the Torah, to find answers to their questions, it also directs them to “kill Jews and Christians wherever you find them”. Politics definitely help direct current events, but this vein of hatred is inspired at a far deeper level: they are obeying God in hating Jews- their religion condones it. It goes beyond politics and policies and national boundaries to the core of their existence: how do you mediate that? It is anti-Christ and therefore anti-Jew.
You might consider finding some Messianic Jews, filled with the love and Spirit of Jehovah, in whose hearts is born compassion for lost Mslms, to be part of any reconciliation attempt. May we all, in full faith, pull down strongholds of deception in ongoing intercession for these children of Abraham, included in the promises of God.
Lord, lead each one of these members: James Lankford, Jacky Rosen, Joni Ernst, Cory Booker, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, David Trone, Ann Wagner, and Brad Schneider, to accomplish your will and your purposes, by your power. Give them each a tender heart to hear your voice and the strength and courage to be obedient to what you are calling them to do. Guide their thoughts and actions.

I pray for blessing upon each member for their recognition of Israel, a spirit of cooperation with God’s spirit, and impartation of sound wisdom for them.
I have been praying over the Abraham Accords for over a year. That God would protect the documents and the bond and that no weapon formed against it should prosper. We continue to pray over this and Israel and that our brotherhood with Israel would be strengthened and stand as their greatest ally.
Heavenly Father we lift Israel and the USA along with the Abraham Accords Caucus for peace and unity. We ask Father for hearts of unity among the Senators James Lankford, R-Okla., Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Cory Booker, D-N.J.

This is good news and a reason for optimism. Policies should prevail over people and personalities. Everything doesn’t need to be R or D, but what is right and good and fair and decent. The R or the D of the lawmaker’s affiliation matters not nearly as much as what they actually do or how they actually vote while in office – just as it is the content of one’s character not the color of one’s skin that makes all the difference. Artificial divisions serve no one well (partisan politics) – this is a positive example of a greater good prevailing over party affiliation.
