Three months after announcing his appointment, President Joe Biden referred today to the Senate the appointment of Puerto Rican Mari Carmen Aponte as United States Ambassador to Panama.

Biden announced on October 8 his decision to appoint Aponte as the diplomatic representative of the United States to the government of the Central American country.
