The Supreme Court on Thursday halted the Biden administration’s eviction moratorium, holding that it was “virtually certain” that the landlords who claimed the centers for Disease Control exceeded its legal authority would win…
The CDC’s argument that it could unilaterally impose a nationwide moritorium in any place with high levels of covid infections was almost completely ungrounded in law…
In June, a narrow majority on the Supreme Court voted against suspending the original moratorium, upholding the D.C. Circuit that had reversed Friedrich’s ruling…
The Biden administration unilaterally renewed the moratorium, albeit in a somewhat narrower scope. Where the original moratorium applied to the entire country, the renewal is limited to renters who live in counties “experiencing substantial and high levels of community transmission” of the virus…The court said:
Careful review of that record makes clear that the applicants are virtually certain to succeed on the merits of their argument that the CDC has exceeded its authority. It would be one thing if Congress had specifically authorized the action that the CDC has taken. But that has not happened…
“The moratorium has put the applicants, along with millions of landlords across the country, at risk of irreparable harm by depriving them of rent payments with no guarantee of eventual recovery.”…
The case is Alabama Association of Realtors v. HHS, No. 21A23 in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Yes I agree with the Supreme Court’s ruling! Landlords still have to pay mortgages and keep up repairs on their rental property, so why should renters get a free ride? Who is the CDC to make rulings that only elected officials should make? We must pray day and night to get the bidenites out of office! FATHER GOD we THANK YOU for hearing our cry and removing the crooks from office in the CDC, the White House, congress, the pharmaceutical companies, the school boards, the teachers unions and anyone else I forgot in JESUS Name! FATHER GOD please hear and answer this prayer and move quickly on YOUR people’s behalf in the MIGHTY Name of JESUS! Amen!
I thank God for this ruling. The bible tells us to make hay while the sun shines and that a laborer is worthy of his reward. The Landlords are not the enemy they are just laborers worthy of there reward. They are providing a sevice of a place to live. No one would order food at a restaurant and think they should not have to pay for there meal. They are providing a service. You wouldn’t go get your hair cut and not have to pay for the service. I would not stay in a motel a few nights and not pay the bill. Landlords were singled out to provide a service and not receive pay. My mother gave brith to me at thrity seven as a single parent back in 1955. Her intentions was to give me up for adoption. Her Aunt was agaist me leaving the family. She invited my Mom to come live in her home and rent the house she owned to provide her income to help support me and than she would care for me while mom worked. My mom had a piece of property in a vacation area. With some money she had saved doing house cleaning before she got into her situation with me. Her aunt and uncle helped her build a small home. I remember the income from these rentals was nessesary for my clothes, school supplies and other things kids need. Good paying jobs for women at the time were hard to come by. it would have caused great hardship for us if she could not collect the rent.
Yes I agree with this proper decision. The vote should have been 9-0 but nonetheless, it is absolutely the right decision.
The people in the CDC and other government officials (along with influential under the radar people) were trying to bankrupt the vast majority of middle income landlords and people that owned rentals. I believe the plan was then, the government would “be the hero”, buy up properties and then utilize it as government owned and run rentals.
We must wake up to the reality that the present group of government officials (the word leaders does not fit for these people) and wealthy globalist thinking elites want to run our lives. They lust after power and control. They only like middle Americans for what they can extract from them. Their secret room motto is ” you build it, own it, maintain it but we want it after you’ve done the work”.
I don’t say that with any bitterness – it’s just a sad reality that we are fighting these giants in our nation and the world. People who think like they do simply don’t care about anything outside of their world.
Amen! I have read and heard that Blackwater is buying up every property they can! They’re in tight with this administration and global community.
I absolutely agree with the Supreme Court. Billions of dollars has been sent to people in the form of stimulus money and extra unemployment benefits so there is no reason people could not pay their rent. Landlords still have expenses to meet.
