“The Chosen,” a multi-season look at the life of Jesus Christ, continues to grow in popularity and it shows no signs of slowing down.
Season one, which was released in 2019, is now available in 90 languages. Season two premiered this Easter and is able to be viewed in 30 languages, Christian Headlines reports.
Creators of the series are hoping to film Season three this year with a release date in 2022.
Executive Producer Derral Eves says his goal is for one billion people to view the show.
“We’re going to get it out to a billion people, and we won’t stop at anything until Jesus comes,” Eves told Christian Headlines. “That’s the only thing that will stop us – if Jesus comes.”
But Eves says to reach one billion viewers, translations are “vital.”
“From day one, when we realized that we wanted to get this out to a billion people, we had to figure out an international play,” Eves explained. “And the best way to go international is to make the app available for anyone in the world from any country to download. And it is available in almost every country.”…
He said there are people around the world who are beginning to understand that “there’s Someone out there listening” and He is “willing to redeem us.”
The show’s writer and director, Dallas Jenkins recently spoke with radio host Delilah Rene during her popular podcast Love Someone with Delilah about the project’s success.
“I feel fortunate just to be a part of it,” he told Delilah. “God clearly has something to say and I feel like He has something He wants communicated to the world right now and I’m just trying to do my best to steward it and it’s been really cool to see.”…
“We know that it’s in every country in the world,” he said. “We’ve heard from people in countries like Iran and China. We said because the app is free and accessible they could have an experience with the Scriptures that have driven them close to the Bible.
“My goal is to introduce the authentic Jesus to the world,” Jenkins explained. “The way we phrase it is that we want to introduce the authentic Jesus to a billion people, but the billion people goal is more like a representation of the fact that we want people to spread the Word.”

I have watched both seasons and highly recommend for everyone to see this show. I pray that God will bless this show and accomplish what he wants to through it and the people leading it. Amen
I have watched both seasons and am impressed with the ability of all the people involved in this production to portray the desire of God to establish a relationship rather than a formal religion with mankind. I believe God will use this series mightily to open the eyes of the masses to understand Gods love for us. I am particularly interested to see how they show the transformation of the rag tag followers into Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit and Power, healing the sick and performing miracles. This production could not come out at a more opportune time. The inability of mankind to save itself is becoming more and more apparent. I bless this production and all involved to be protected from the enemy and be given the resources and guidance to preach the Truth of Christ to the world.
Yes. Many people told my wife and I about it so we found season one free on Peacock a few weeks ago. I highly recommend watching it! I am not gifted to evaluate artistic merits, but we are spiritually enriched by the experience. Lord, bless and encourage Dallas Jenkins and everyone connected with this production. I am convicted to explore how to “buy forward” into this strong witness of faith in Jesus.
