GOV. DESANTIS SAVES FLORIDA EDUCATION FROM CRT
The Florida Board of Education has officially said no to a form of critical race theory in public schools.
Gov. Ron DeSantis and state Republicans opposed the divisive curriculum which they consider a form of far-left indoctrination.
The newly adopted rule, which occurred after a four-hour meeting Thursday in Jacksonville where about 30 speakers on both sides participated, does not specifically mention critical race theory per se, but the messaging about how U.S. history, civics, and government should be taught is definitive.
The rule reads:Ā āInstruction on the required topics must be factual and objective and may not suppress or distort significant historical events, such as the Holocaust, and may not define American history as something other than the creation of a new nation based largely on universal principles stated in the Declaration of Independence.ā
It also clarifies the role of teachers in that they āserve as facilitators for student discussion and do not share their personal views or attempt to indoctrinate or persuade students to a particular point of views.ā
In addressing the state board this morning via a remote hookup,Ā DeSantis similarly said āWe have to do history that is factual I think itās important that when weāre doing things like history that itās grounded in actual fact over narrativeā¦We need to be educating people, not trying to indoctrinate them.ā . . .

National columnist,Ā and founder of BizPac Review,Ā Jack FurnariĀ has been on the front linesĀ of a recent battleĀ in Palm Beach County, Florida. Furnari quickly praised DeSantis for supporting the classroom ban.
āGovernor Ron DeSantis has saved the children of Florida and Palm Beach County from hate and division by standing up to neo-racists like Alexandria Ayala, Debra Robinson, Erica Whitfield of the Palm Beach County School Board,ā said Furnari. āGod Bless Governor DeSantis.ā
FurnariĀ previously took the Palm Beach County school board to task for including a plan to dismantle structures rooted in so-called white advantage in its mission statement, which is a similar concept embodied in critical race theory and social justice.
The statement drew fire from parents throughout the district, many of whom said it was, in and of itself, divisive and racist, leading board members toĀ drop the referenceĀ to white advantage last month in a close 4-3 vote.
The now-abandoned language was vigorously pushed by board members Ayala, Robinson, and Whitfield. The boardās reversal, however, came on the heels of aĀ possible lawsuitĀ over a BLM link on the school boardās website.
The embattled school board responded to Thursdayās vote, āThe School District of Palm Beach County has taught, and will continue to teach, the standards as adopted by the Florida Department of Education.
āNo child should be classified as a āvictimā or āoppressorā based on their race or ethnicity,ā said Christina Pushaw, the governorās press secretary asserted about todayās state school board development.
āThe bottom line and objective of education is not to introduce ideology and fight political battles ā itās to prepare our students to be great citizens. Itās not telling you what to think, but how to think, and to think critically ā with the ultimate goal of ensuring Florida students become well-rounded, civically minded, productive members of society,ā added DeSantis Communications Director Taryn Fenske.

Once again I applaud Governor DeSantis for seeing a threat to our children & ensuring that legislation was passed to keep CRT out of the school system. May all state legislators recognize & adopt this attitude & stand for & not against our children being taught truth rather than the lie in Jesus Name Amen.
