The Alabama state Senate voted Tuesday to criminalize performing gender transition surgeries or hormone therapy on minors who identify as transgender.
Under the Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act, doctors would be prohibited from treating Alabama minors with hormone therapy, surgery or puberty blockers “intended to alter the minor child’s gender or delay puberty.” . . .
The Alabama state Senate passed the legislation Tuesday in a 23-4 vote, CBS News reported, sending the bill to the Alabama state House of Representatives.
The Alabama House has already approved a companion bill and the two combined bills would make it a felony for doctors to perform trans surgeries or hormone treatment on minors. . . .
Medical professionals who violate the legislation, if passed and signed into law, could face up to 10 years in prison or pay a $15,000 fine, CBS reported. . . .
Progressive groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union, protested against the bill.
“This legislation will endanger young trans lives in Alabama,” Sam Brinton, the vice president of advocacy and government affairs at the LGBT organization The Trevor Project, said in a statement on Tuesday.
“It contradicts the consensus of major medical associations and the overwhelming evidence that demonstrates how affirming transgender and nonbinary youth in their identities reduces suicide risk and improves health.”
Alabama would become the first state to pass such legislation, according to CBS. The state also is considering H.B. 391, which would prevent biological males from participating in female sports.
Republican Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation. . . .

Oh Lord I pray that this piece of legislation passes with favor. Let this become a template for other states to enact. Let God’s will be done. He made these children’s gender before they were placed in their mother’s womb. It is not satan’s perogative to change it. God is the creator. Let not any unrighteous spirit or unbeliever take it upon themselves to change this. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray.

Father, I thank you that you said to ask and we are asking in your Son’s Name, Jesus, for your intervention regarding these issues. I thank you that you are making the states aware that they have jurisdiction over their own states and can stop the federal overreaching and violation of the Constitution in order to promote an agenda. Protect the children of our land. Father, America is One Nation under your authority, in Jesus’ Name and we claim this Revival. that has begun will spread throughout the land and stop abortion, stop discrimination that is being placed on those who follow your heart. Stop being confused about who is a male or a female, for you clearly wanted a family and knew what you were doing when you created us in your image and likeness. pro-active in their resolve to this Evil Agenda of Government at Federal, State and Local levels. This Transgender effort is in direct opposition to our Creator’ Plan for every human life expressed in Psalm 139:13-16.
Alabama continue your zeal and fortitude with State Legislative action. We pray Godly wisdom, discernment and protection for the Elected Representatives and their families. Sound “THE ALARM” to surrounding State Governments to embrace “THIS STAND” HB391 tp protect our young impressionable children.

People have been throwing around the word hero very lightly in the last year, These legislators are my heroes. Standing up to this evil Goliath government/ news media to push back on these tyrannical executive orders that 90% of Americans are probably against but they make it seem like we are the minority. Praise be to the Lord!!! We thank you Lord for protecting the youth of Alabama against a monetary feeling that may change with age, truth and knowledge of who God has made them to be. Thank you for righteous leaders who acted quickly in this seeing the signs of the times and evil on the door step. We pray against any backlash they may receive from onlookers. We pray protection against any harm that may be intended for them. Lord enable them to stand confident & bold in the decision they have made.
