BANK OF AMERICA BOYCOTT OVER REPORT OF DATA GIVEN TO FBI
Customers are calling for a boycott of Bank of America, after a report that the bank handed over the account information of hundreds of innocent people in connection with the Jan. 6Ā deadly riots at the Capitol.
At the request of the FBI, the countryās second-largest bank allegedly snooped through information of anyone making certain purchases in and around Washington before and after the riots, and handed over the information of 211 people, according toĀ Fox Newsā Tucker Carlson. . . .
Federal investigators reportedly asked Bank of America for information on customers who made debit or credit card purchases in DC, reserved hotels and Airbnbs in and around the capital, patronized weapons store and made airline reservations within the timeframe surrounding the attacks. . . .
Now, customers and non-customers alike are calling those reported actions an overreach, and taking to Twitter to announce they are canceling their accounts and calling on others to do the same.

āThe customer should SUEĀ @BankofAmericaĀ unless there was a subpoena involved!,ā another userĀ commented. . . .
āIf clients reach out to us and raise concerns, weāll certainly speak to them about their concerns,ā Bank of America spokesman William Halldin told The Post.
Under the 1970Ā Bank Secrecy Act, financial institutions are required to cooperate with law enforcement to detect money laundering, terrorist financing and other criminal acts.
The FBI has arrested more thanĀ 170 peopleĀ in connection with the breach of the US Capitol, and have vowed to hunt down hundreds more rioters.
Five people ā including aĀ Capitol Police officerĀ ā died during the riots, and a second member of the Capitol Police and an officer with the DC Metro PoliceĀ took their own lives in the aftermath. . . .
Then-President Donald Trump was impeached for a second time over his alleged role in inciting the riot, and faces aĀ Senate trialĀ next week.

what credit card can we use that is conservative values
If you are a member of BOA in anyway including sub- companies — LEAVE THEM. You want to be effective – then take action. Back up what you say. Explain to BOA why you are leaving. If at all possible, give your business to local banks. They always need our support. We have gotten so used to convenience for our lifestyles that we have forgotten that that “convenience has a price tag”. In this case, monster corporate BOA sold your private information under pressure from the other great compromiser – our own government. Any company with an ounce of integrity would challenge that pressure but more so, would contact their customers “first” to secure permission.
Sadly, corporate giants often treat their people and customers like they don’t exist other than to keep them in $$. So it’s up to us to make decisions to force them into an ongoing reminder and policy changes that people come first – not their company.
I tend to agree. Why should this form of “hacking” go protested. We used to believe “hackin” was a malicious act, this bank has moved into an area of control called “for you good” or some such euphemism.
