I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Pray for the coming together of our nation as a people united with the Lord as our guide and defender.

“Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.” (Matthew 12:25)

Every generation has its own axes to grind, attitudes to assume, enemies to attack. It’s the way the young move into maturity, sometimes with smarts and sometimes not. Every generation wants to make the world over in its own image.

Action and reaction can be creative as well as destructive, but the rhetoric of a generation often overstates what it’s for and what it’s against, galvanizing each side to take issue with the other. We called the generation that survived the Great Depression to fight and win World War II “the greatest generation” because good and evil were so clear cut and, as Churchill put it in his tribute to the RAF after the Battle of Britain, “never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

Leaders then were not perfect, but they had the intellect, information and passion for the good fight that they could galvanize the home front. The newspapers, newsreels (television was hardly a gleam in anybody’s eye) and Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s fireside chats on the radio soothed rational fears and stoked public confidence.

Now we’re embroiled in domestic wars of a different kind and the younger generations challenge democracy from within, even marching against free speech, making the protection of the fragile First Amendment ever more difficult….

Identity politics thrives on division and the president has become the icon of a divided nation. These divisions became clear in the 2016 election campaign as Mr. Trump mocked the “elites” and Hillary scorned the “deplorables.” Both jeered with a sneer, appealing to a low common denominator of resentment….

“Without saying so — for this Trump was cautious and prudent — he began to mobilize a white community to match the long existing ‘black community,’ thus turning the strategy of identity against itself,” Harvey Mansfield writes. “It was now Trump voters who were encouraged to think themselves marginalized.”

Hillary Clinton’s tin ear sealed her doom. Speaking to miners in West Virginia who would lose their jobs, she thrust her knife deep into the heart: “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.” She later apologized to the miners who had already taken her measure, and her cold insensitivity became emblematic of Democratic identity politics and extended beyond the miners to all those who had lost their jobs when factories fled in hot pursuit of cheap labor abroad. Her tin ear recalled in paraphrase Shylock’s speech in the “Merchant of Venice,” with the word “Jew” replaced by “worker” in the Rust Belt who tipped the election and who could say: “If you prick us, do we not bleed?”…. Dear Heavenly Father..Division is not of You for You are a Father of Unity, a Father of relationships. You demonstrate the greatest relationship of all within the Unity of One.. of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This relationship also is for Your children of all colors, ethnicities, and nations.

As a nation we have fallen short of Your glory and I pray we are humbled as a nation and seek Your forgiveness for our collective disobedience and sins. For some, politics has become a god and laws created to feed their own gluttony; notions and counter education have hatched that satisfy itchy ears and given rise to a secular religion of a culture of death. This should not be. Many of Your children feel helpless and weary as they try to be a Daniel and live in this counter and troubling society. But…..
“You God, are our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. Therefore we will not fear; even though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Thought the waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling………. You Lord are still in the midst of her, she will not be moved; You Lord shall help her just at the break of dawn. ………You will be exalted among the nations, You will be exalted in the earth! For You oh Lord are with us, You are our refuge” From Psalm 46

As a nation I pray for Revival, beginning with myself to repent and seek You Lord in a deeper way, for a personal revival as an example of Your Love and grace in my own life in this broken and fallen world. There are many who do not know you because of the pull of darkness of this culture of death so prevalent in our media, and Hollywood, in songs, the news and politics. But You Lord are mightier and the Light always dispels the darkness. We praise You Lord above all things and we trust You will know the right time to act…have mercy on us for our nations transgressions and pour Your Spirit upon our nation so the Light can be seen, people can repent and seek Your face and the healing of our land can occur. In the precious name of Jesus..Amen

Most loving Father, all glory, honor and praise belongs to You. Father, for your glory deliver this nation as she was dedicated to You upon her founding. Ensure her purpose is fulfilled to Your glory. We have done much in our laws and actions that would give You due cause to turn Your eyes away from us, but we ask for Your mercy and for Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John:3:8b. Father we lock the door to the work of the devil within this nation and believe for Your healing power to heal all that dishonors Your Holy Name. Amen.

Praying with you for unity in our nation. It is to bad that it takes a catastrophe such as Harvey to get people to work together for the common good of the people.
Father may conviction come upon your people so we can see ourselves as you see us. May we cry out to you in repentance, confessing our sins, so that you will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and heal our land.

OF THE PEOPLE – BY THE PEOPLE – FOR THE PEOPLE
FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

Heavenly Father, I lift this nation up before You as I pray for our leaders as well as all who are in authority. May The Holy Spirit convict the hearts of not only our leaders Lord but of each and every person that has breath. It is Your goodness Father God that desires that NONE should perish but rather that ALL would come to repentance. Open eyes, change hearts like only You can Lord. In Christ alone is our hope found.
In Jesus Name I pray
Amen

Lord cause a spirit of sorrow and shame to sweep the nation leading to remorse unto salvation and a turning back and turning to You Father God.
Strategize prayer warriors who will grasp the hem of Your garment never ceasing to call on You to bring repentance and revival.
They will say unto You, I will not let You go unless You bless me in Jesus’s Name.

If you want peace, then follow scripture: pray for the peace of Jerusalem both natural and the Spiritual Jerusalem that come down out of heaven: Ps 122:6-9

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God I will seek thy good.

Father, You are the Almighty, Great I AM. May your grace and mercies abound drawing this generation to you. Forgive me, forgive us for working, striving in our own independence, strength. Let us recognize eternal results and success are the harvest of Your ways. Praises to you who is in us. Your name will be exalted.

We lift the Mellennials up to You Lord, we are ashamed that we the parents and grandparents of the younger generation have been such a Bad example. It i s our luekwarm faith that has divorce in the church at 50%, we have sought after the American dream far more than a godly home life. Be a good parent to the young Lord, lead them and guide them in your ways. Deliver them from the Evil One, cause them to know right from wrong. May your Holy Spirit fall on them Lord, and may they know your salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.
