On May 21, 2020, the Atlantic reported that the CDC was over counting the number of cases of individuals with the coronavirus:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is conflating the results of two different types of coronavirus tests, distorting several important metrics and providing the country with an inaccurate picture of the state of the pandemic. We’ve learned that the CDC is making, at best, a debilitating mistake: combining test results that diagnose current coronavirus infections with test results that measure whether someone has ever had the virus. The upshot is that the government’s disease-fighting agency is overstating the country’s ability to test people who are sick with COVID-19. The agency confirmed to The Atlantic on Wednesday that it is mixing the results of viral and antibody tests, even though the two tests reveal different information and are used for different reasons. . . .
Several states—including Pennsylvania, the site of one of the country’s largest outbreaks, as well as Texas, Georgia, and Vermont—are blending the data in the same way. Virginia likewise mixed viral and antibody test results until last week, but it reversed course and the governor apologized for the practice after it was covered by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and The Atlantic. Maine similarly separated its data on Wednesday; Vermont authorities claimed they didn’t even know they were doing this.
Apparently the CDC is still co-mingling these results. . . .

A report released Thursday from the Government Accountability Office levied criticism at the CDC for combining active cases of the coronavirus and positive antibody tests, which may give a misleading view of nationwide testing and spread. . . .

The report also criticized the C.D.C.’s counting of coronavirus tests, which combines tests for an active infection and those that detect antibodies. This practice inflates the percentage of Americans that appear to have been tested and gives an unreliable picture of the way the virus is spreading around the country, according to the new report. After the C.D.C. was criticized last month for combining the two types of tests in its reports, the agency promised to separate them. But as of June 9, it had still not resolved the issue, the office reported.
The CDC’s method of reporting the number of active cases is totally flawed. It is fraudulent. The CDC counts individuals who show that they had the China coronavirus in their counts of individuals who are identified currently with the virus. This data is then used by states to determine whether to open our shut down their economies.

I agree, misleading title. Could be CDC FRAUD: Exaggerating Covid-19 cases to keep U.S. economic closed.
I have been following the CDC Provisional Death Counts on their website for months. Initially the columns were very clear regarding cause of death, eg. Covid or Pneumonia, or Influenza. But recently the column titles are mixed using words like “with or without Covid”. Not an accurate way to identify the cause of death making it impossible to see if cases have flattened or if they have spiked. We are praying for truth in the written and broadcast media since so many Americans believe what they are hearing from those sources.
To IFA Staff: I so appreciate all IFA does and have found your articles so helpful. I have recently been trying to send articles to my adult children that will give them a different lens through which to view the news. This is a good article in that it really does draw from many different sources, both right and left,to substantiate what is presented.
UNFORTUNATELY, THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE IS INACCURATE. It probably should have said CDC Fraud: Exaggerates China Covid-19 cases to keep U.S. Economy Closed, but instead is misleading as to it’s content because it sounds as though it is accusing China of something. Father God,
You are the Great Physician, the true Healer. We pray for true healing on America. We pray that the truth behind this virus be revealed, that the evil hiding behind the fear created from the covid would be fully revealed. Lord we pray that the truth would be swiftly made known to all so that medical tyranny is halted. We pray that those who have and will benefit from the pandemic will also be named. And Father, we pray that the media would report what is honest and accurate and what represents Your Truth.
This pandemic seems to be a battle against more than a contagious disease. Help us all be willing and able to be part of the army of God, to fight this spiritual battle against darkness and evil. In Jesus precious name we humbly ask this.

Father, God, we ask You to expose this issue on National Television and make the CDC revise the numbers for ALL America and the States so that the TRUTH will be seen and known. Break these lies and deceptions that are trying to break this Nation. Spirit of TRUTH speak, Spirit of TRUTH flood this country taking down every lie of the enemy. I hope and pray that the silent majority wake up and seek the truth and see how big government is using the Coronavirus to control its citizens and take away our freedom!

Once again, bad science. God, please lead us in truth and in Jesus name we ask that You completely destroy covid 19 from the face of the earth.
Also, not sure if this is happening in other places, but deaths that have nothing to do with covid are being stated as the cause being covid. Within our church we specifically know of at least two people who died of other issues that the state stamped covid on. It is speculated that more money comes to those places who have more covid deaths, not sure if that is accurate or not.
You mean like counting death from every cause, even auto accidents and using that information to incite more fear, more economic despair for someone’s ultimate goal of control just like Communist China?
Oh Lord, our God, please open the eyes of the blind and reveal to all of us your will in this difficult season! Make Your Truth known to those who make decisions and bless them with Your Wisdom to bring this pandemic to an end. I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen

Lord, please reveal truth and uncover all distortions regarding Covid. Lord, we pray that You will have mercy on this world and our nation. May we see our need for Jesus! May we see our sin, turn from it and fall on the grace and mercy of The Cross. Lord, please hear us and move Your hand! Align our hearts and wills with Yours. Help us to obey and abide in You just as Jesus has done! May the Holy Spirit work in our hearts that many will come and receive Jesus Christ! Lord, will there be revival?
