I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for those who are serving the nation's citizens as first responders. As they seek to help, we pray that You would send your Presence with them, that they would not despair, but put their trust in You.

On Saturday, Richmond Police Chief Will Smith was overcome with emotion detailing one of the worst acts of violence carried out in the city during the previous night’s rioting, ostensibly over the death of George Floyd.

According to Smith, rioters set fire to an occupied multi-family residence with a child inside, then repeatedly blocked firefighters’ access to the scene.

Thankfully, officers found a way to secure access and saved the family, including the child.

“One incident that is particularly poignant, that truly illustrates the seriousness of the issues we’re facing,” Smith told reporters. “Protesters intentionally set a fire to an occupied building on [West] Broad Street. This is not the only occupied building that has been set fire to in the last two days.”

“They prohibited us from getting on scene,” the police chief continued. “We had to force our way to make a clear path for the fire department.”

“Protesters intercepted that fire apparatus several blocks away with vehicles and blocked that fire department’s access to the structure fire,” Smith said. “Inside that home was a child.”

“Officers were able to –,” Smith attempted to continue, though he was overcome with emotion, “help those people out of the house.”

“We were able to get the fire department there safely,” the emotional police chief added.

“When you take a legitimate issue and hijack it for unknown reasons, that is unacceptable to me,” Smith stated firmly, “it’s unacceptable to the Richmond Police Department, unacceptable to the city of Richmond.”

Protests began popping up across the nation on Tuesday over the death of Floyd, a black man who died after a police officer had his knee on the 46-year-old’s neck for over eight minutes during an arrest, as shown in viral video footage.

The rest of the story here in the Richmond area: There was a peaceful march and demonstration on June 2 including some city and state officials and Richmond’s mayor. This came about because Mayor Stoney met with a very angry crowd earlier in the day and listened to them, and he promised changes. There was also a peaceful march in Chesterfield County June 3 with prayer. Lord, may Your Spirit reign in our area, bringing more understanding, unity, peace and change in the coming days and beyond!

Father, We pray for the senseless killing taking place right now. We pray that the protestors would realize what they are creating and accomodating and not be proud of it. We pray that they would grow weary of being accompanied by looters and violent types..that the cities would begin to say okay..we know yur feelings. It is time to go home now…And then get the looters. We pray that that owners of businesses and building would be blessed eventually and also reimbursed and taken care of ..by God if no one helps them. Help us not to grow weary but to walk and pray or drive and pray as a regular habit.

Joy, agree with you. I’ve been saying that these protests are not good. They should have been stopped as soon as the riots and looting started. They say they have the right to protest. Well, people have the right to live in peace and safety, and own a business where people shop. I myself would not have continued to march. Too much loss and grief. Nothing gained.

Unbeknownst to many, there are demonic forces (“spiritual powers of darkness in high places” – according to the Bible) that are exerting their influence on those inciting rage and violence. See scripture below.

Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms.[a] For they are a powerful class of demon-gods[b] and evil spirits that hold[c] this dark world in bondage. (Ephesians 6:12 The Passion Translation)
Therefore, since the battle is spiritual, our weapons must also be spiritual. And for this purpose, God has given us HIS armor. His WORD, the “Sword of the Spirit,” (Ephesians 6:17) is the most powerful weapon we can wield against the enemy. Let us DECLARE with our mouth His Word!
This battle against injustice must be fought on our knees, while others march the streets, peacefully demanding JUSTICE and EQUALITY.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Arise, O God, and scatter Your enemies!

I have referred to this activity as a revolt and demonic. Jesus taught not to repay evil with evil. As we hear of more of these stories, our hearts will break, because they break the heart of God. Hear the cries and prayers of your saints Lord. We lift them up to You. Give us refreshing NOW. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
