I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 4 minutes

There is a sound that must be heard in this coming year if we are to overcome the principalities at work over nations and the demonic strongholds that are choking the life out of God’s people. This sound will cause every living thing to succumb to the presence of the Lord and make room for the King of Glory to come in. In our corporate worship we must come out of the river of delights and into the holy of holies where kingdoms rise and fall and all of creation responds.

Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”
(Revelation 5:11-12 ESV)

John saw this reality when he was taken up to the throne room to witness what happens when creation acknowledges and worships the holiness and sovereignty of the King. The domino effect of this kind of worship has profound implications. Singing the song of the Lamb and declaring His absolute right to rule and reign compels the angelic host to mirror this worship, calling on all of creation to answer.

And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped. (Revelation 5:13-14)

Humility of heart in full submission to the Holy One opens doors that nothing else can. When we dare to enter the holy place, dead to our own needs and desires, giving our very lives for His sake alone, the heavenly host can’t help but respond. When they hear the sound of pure hearts fully submitted to the Name above all others, they add their voices to the chorus and, as a result, ALL of creation submits. Every created thing yields to the Holy One and NO ONE is left standing!

Heaven is calling the Church to come up higher in our worship to revere His holiness and fully yield to the weight of His glory. It is here where the Fear of the Lord is accessed and released with such force and power that nothing can stand in its wake. No power of the devil or manipulation of man can withstand the presence of a Holy God! Where praise in the outer courts elicits exuberant expression and often brings personal gratification, worship in the holy place gives it all up. There is no pursuit for a response or expectation of a blessing. Our only aim is to present ourselves on the altar of sacrifice, giving worship to the Spotless Lamb of God who willingly gave us what we never deserved.

Worship should never be about us. It should always be about HIM. May we not settle for worship that positions us like baby birds in our nest crying out for Mama bird to come feed us. Though our childlike faith may be sincere and our hunger commendable, our goal must always be to seek His face and not His hand of blessing, provision, or supernatural manifestation. Perhaps our biggest breakthrough yet awaits us as we surrender in worship to the pursuit of a Holy God

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness (in holy attire), tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. (1 Chronicles 16:29-30 ESV)

In this coming season, we cannot depend on our SPIRITUAL ARMOR to save the day. It is not the strength of our warrior’s cry that will win the battle. If we are to overcome the pervading evil in our day as the body of Christ, we must put on HOLY GARMENTS in order to access legitimate power from the throne. THIS is where we will receive the authority needed to overcome every stronghold and demonic principality that is warring against us.

The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments. (Psalm 110:2-3 ESV)

We must learn how to clothe ourselves in holiness and array ourselves in purity before the Lord, not only personally, but corporately. Compromise in the Church and mixing the holy and profane nullify our place in the courts of heaven. The spirit of religion is trying hard to convince us that holiness is either unattainable or unreasonable. The enemy wants nothing more than to blind us to the power of holiness and the anointing it brings to decimate his plans.

God declared to His prophet Ezekiel that other nations would know that He is God when He manifested His holiness through them (see Ezekiel 20:41-42, 28:22-25). “It is not for YOUR sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but FOR THE SAKE OF MY HOLY NAME, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.” (Ezekiel 36:22-23)

Jesus said His Father seeks those who worship in spirit and in truth. This can only happen when we pursue holiness as a mantle of overcoming victory instead of a yoke of guilt and condemnation. Let us prayerfully consider how to adjust our worship services to make room for His holiness. May we learn how to be still in His presence and allow Him to invade our gatherings and consume our agendas. Let us come with clean hands and pure hearts in order to seek His presence more than to receive our blessings.

When we sing the song of the Lamb and corporately embrace the Fear of the Lord, it will compel the heavenly host to join in the chorus, and very force of darkness, every curse and hex of witchcraft, and every demon in hell will have to bow to the King who, alone, is worthy of it all.

My spirit bears witness with your every word,Wanda! As a worshiper of Yeshua HaMashiach,I long for the sound of Heaven in our corporate worship! We need our robe of His righteousness, garments of praise, and our whole being bowing before The Holy God YHWH in humility and holy awe! When seeking Him in all our ways, seeking His face, His Kabod will fall! His enemies will flee from His weighty manifested Presence! Lamb of God,Holy One of Israel I worship and adore You!

Amen to worshiping God in holiness, and not mixing the holy and profane.

When David and all Israel attempted to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem without regard for God’s revealed instructions for transporting it, they thought they were worshiping God in sincerity and truth. Yet their worship was not acceptable to Him, and one well-intentioned individual ended up being struck dead (1 Chronicles 13).

In a series of messages titled “The Enemies We Face”, Derek Prince, one of the founders of Intercessors for America, made the following comments about worship, and particularly about the use of music in worship:
“He (Satan) has very definite purposes. He has two main ambitions: to dominate the whole human race…and his second purpose is to receive worship…And when you really analyze everything that Satan does, his ultimate purpose is to receive the worship of the whole human race.”
“Sorcery also operates through music…very probably, Lucifer was in charge of the music of heaven.”
“I think it’s important to know that Satan (as he is now) knows a lot about music. And he uses music to captivate people.”
Derek shared that in a conference he attended in 1979, a powerful prophecy was given in which God said, in part, that “He was declaring total war on witchcraft. And He said the reason is this: because witchcraft has millions of men bound whom I need in My end-time army.”
In a message titled “Protection From Deception”, he said: “Only the spirit can focus directly on God. Much of the music that we have in the church today appeals to the soul, stimulates the soul. It’s very much the same kind of music as is used in the world to stimulate the soul…Having lived five years in Africa, I’m aware that certain repetitive themes and rhythms can deaden your sensitivity if you sit under that long enough, especially when it’s very loud. You lose the capacity to discern. And in Africa those rhythms are used to call up demons.”

When Christians use rock music in any form to worship God, regardless of the words they use, they are in fact giving worship to Satan, because rock music is demonic in its origin and nature. The presumed sincerity of the worshipers cannot nullify what is actually taking place.

Paul said: “…the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.” (1 Corinthians 10:20, 21)

A mixture of the holy and the profane is heard in nearly every worship video that is being posted on this newsfeed on a daily basis, because almost without exception, these videos include rock music in some form. If we are to engage in worship that will move heaven and earth, we must not presume that we offer acceptable worship to God, however well-intentioned we may be, when we are in fact mixing His worship with worship of Satan.

God bless you.

Jack – Though I appreciate your conviction for purity and holiness, I simply don’t agree with your assessment concerning drum beats. I have 2 music degrees and have been a worship leader my whole life. I don’t believe that any beat is more holy than another. I believe what makes it acceptable to the Lord is the spirit of the MUSICIAN – not the sound itself. I’ve seen many times where the drums are one of the most powerful instruments in worship when played by an anointed minstrel. I’ve heard some offbeat and out-of-tune musicians usher in the holiness of God simply because of the purity of their heart, not the skill of their hands. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you for your response, Wanda. Please let me say respectfully that I believe there are many Christians who have academic degrees in music, and even years of experience in leading worship, who have been spiritually deceived about the demonic origin and influence of rock music.
You say you don’t believe that any beat is more holy than another. But are you not aware that there are beats that are in fact UN-holy? Satan is aware of this. Do you suppose that the loud, repetitive themes and rhythms used in Africa (and by pagan idolaters all over the world) to call up demons may be used in worship of the living God? This is exactly the kind of music that is mimicked by rock, as was immediately recognized by a former pagan idolater when he heard Christian rock music being listened to by missionary kids (as related in a letter quoted in my comments on your November 26 article “Are You Listening To A Religious Spirit?”). Also, leaders of the formerly persecuted church in Russia recognized Christian rock as “music from hell,” and wrote to American Christians asking us not to send any more Christian rock bands to their country because of the harm they had already done (as also shared in my comments on your November 26 article).
While I am in no position to judge your motives or question your sincerity, I must tell you in love that you have been deceived, and no amount of sincerity or good intentions can prevent the spiritual harm that such deception is silently inflicting on multitudes of Christians.
      God bless you.

Thank you, Jack. There have been times that guitars licks in worship music disturbed me. I wondered if I was wrong, or if it was others no discernment.

LORD, our Holy God, I thank you for Jack’s boldness and conviction to state the truth. You alone are God and we pray that we will worship You in spirit, truth and purity! I ask that those who are not able to discern the spirit behind the music will be able to in the future, as some drum beats and certain chords may invite the unholy into out worship. Please pour out discernment on Your people! I don’t ask this to shame anyone, but to make sure our worship of You is pure and holy. We love You LORD. May we truly worship You in spirit and truth. Purify our hearts! May Your name be glorified by us all. I pray that we are not deceived, but walk in Your ways as we are led by Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus loving and protective name we pray, amen!

Dear Lord; we gather this day to pray for our President and his family. Place a hedge of protection around them, grant them Your strength to stand up to the slings and arrows of the enemy. May they always know that You Lord God are with them always, guide their path to success. Help our President save this; Your country Father from the evil ones that would change it.

Bless those in the government with You in their heart this day. Wake up Your saints across this land that they may join in the search for the truth in all the enemy is doing to bring down Your country, America and Israel. We pray for Your peace across this land Lord.

Thank you Jesus! In Your Holy Name we pray, Amen

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

1. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Wanda,

Spot-on!

The past several months we’ve been studying Luke and how Jesus operated as our High Priest, according to the Order of Melchezedek, as the Son of Man. Paul speaks directly Melchezedek in Hebrews.

Prior to Luke, we studied the OT priesthood, from its beginning through to John the Baptist. Your article is rich!
