I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us. (1 Peter 2:12)

Recently it was reported that 50 Pro-Life Groups Unite to Provide Baby Items for Migrant Moms and Children at the Border. Abby Johnson, whose story was portrayed in the recent hit movie, Unplanned, was one of the organizers of this initiative. Putting their prayers into action, these pro-lifers are not just speaking out on the value of life and compassionate care; they are taking action to minister aid to those who need it most.

“I encourage us as a movement to not just be against abortion. Let’s be a movement that is FOR more than we are against,” Johnson wrote. “Let’s be a movement that reaches out to those who need our physical and emotional assistance…whether those people are walking into an abortion clinic, at the border, or are homeless.”

Johnson’s initiative should serve as a model of how believers have the opportunity to do more than simply expose corruption or speak out on moral issues. We have the opportunity to do good. As we continue to see anti-God messages spread and liberals criticizing and mocking those who stand for conservative values, actions such as this are powerful demonstrations of a higher Kingdom. Even as voices try to drown out the life-giving message of the Gospel, we can turn the tide by helping those victimized and caught in the web of political maneuvering and greed-driven agendas. Our acts of compassion are not simply gestures; they are powerful weapons that carry supernatural power (see Ps 112:5, Luke 6:38).

Let’s pray for the Lord to reveal more ways in which we as believers can demonstrate the Gospel we proclaim and the love we profess. Our spiritual adversary can do little against those who give generously from a pure heart. Let’s pray that the empty words from the left will be drowned out by increasing reports of those being uplifted, strengthened, and encouraged by the generous deeds of Kingdom ambassadors.  May we consider how our simple acts of kindness can change perceptions and draw attention to the goodness of God. May our actions be louder than our words and our generosity be greater than our complaint.

All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing. (Prv 21:26)

I agree our actions of love, compassion and generosity of meeting the needs in our communities will show the powerful love of Christ. His love changes things.

Someone on Facebook posted this blog and said this of it: “Abby Johnson is anti gospel and anti Abortion Abolitionism. She needs prayer and to repent. But no one should support her or her movie #unplanned. Are you willing to do some reading. Here’s 3 articles with screenshots, video and more exposing her sinful activity. Don’t be deceived. – Mason Goodknight

But, I’m part of this prayer page, and you say differently. I still haven’t seen the movie, because I don’t know who’s right and who’s wrong.

Dear Brittany, You don’t know who’s right and who’s wrong. That is true. But pay close attention to this: You must learn to discern good and evil. You absolutely MUST! Without that ability (which is a gift of God to those who seek to obey Him) you will be lost in a world of deception. If you develop that discernment you will be a mature child of God. Our first mother, Eve, in the Garden of Eden, did not ‘know who’s right and who’s wrong’, and as a result the whole human race fell into disobedience and sin. How can you tell which is which? Here’s a hint: If God said it, that’s where Right is found. If someone who slanders God or God’s children said it, that is a big red flag labelled “Wrong !” The Internet, and Facebook in particular, is the habitat of many of God’s children, but also the den of many serpents. It is up to you to discern the difference. And if you ask God for guidance, He will lead you into all Truth.
Right now you don’t know if Abby is a sinner saved by grace and transformed into a channel of God’s blessing, or if she is a wicked woman filled with “sinful activity”. You can’t count on Facebook to help you. But if you pray and ask God to give you discernment and wisdom, and then watch the movie (to see what it is that you are judging), God will hear your prayer, honor your trust in Him, and reveal to you “who’s right and who’s wrong”. Because that is important to Him, also !

Father in heaven, I plead the blood of Jesus over our nation’s leaders. Forgive our sins as a nation and heal our land. Give our leaders in government federal, state and local levels Your wisdom and a heart for true morals and values. I pray that Christians would be strong in faith and courageous to rise up in intercessory prayer and in deeds to help as God leads and directs. Thank you ABBA Father for hearing and answering our prayers. Amen

Whoever sacrifices a thank offering glorifies Me and makes a way; I will show him the salvation of God. God, thank You for Your amazing grace at work among the believers. Help us fill our hearts with everything good, lovely, and holy. God we give You praise and thanks. There’s nothing as wonderful as walking in the light with You. Amen. We dwell on things that are good, true, and beautiful.

Wow, it’s taken me 4 or 5 times reviewing this, and am FINALLy realizing that the focus (and, therefore the RELEVANCE) is on the BABIES’/CHILDREN’S needs. Anyway, I’ve prayed & reprayed this issue for God’s will, and especially where ending abortion is concerned (albeit indirectly). Thanks, Abby Johnson, and, of course, to all those 50 pro-life groups for this loving, obedience-inspired and courageous initiative! God bless and Godspeed.

Yes!! Death is swallowed up in victory! I love it! There’s not just a war of words going on, its a war of conflicting Kingdoms. We are more than conquerors through Christ. Love is the most powerful weapon we have. Love never fails. Love covers a multitude of sins.
Jesus came full of Grace and Truth. Truth alone can be a bitter pill to swallow. Grace opens hearts. When people see a clear contrast between Love-in-action and hate-in-action it will be clearer which side they want to be on. I believe unified movements of love-in-action like this will turn the tide and become the tipping point for revival for our country and beyond. So glad to be hearing this inspirational story. May the entire Body of Christ be spurred to such powerful action. It even sounds like fun. Who ever heard of a fun war?
