Holy Spirit Fire Poured Out at Valley Forge Rededication Event
At the leading of David Kubal and the American Spiritual Heritage Project, Holy Spirit burned in my spirit to Recount, Reclaim, and Rededicate Valley Forge back to our Lord. I knew it was coming, but I didn’t know when. At the beginning of June, I had the privilege of meeting one of the pastoral staff members and his lovely wife from the Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge. I felt the urging of Holy Spirit to set a date and move forward.
Post a prayer for your state!
Pastor Larry and his wife shared with me that portions of the movie A Great Awakening that featured Oxford University were actually filmed on-site inside the chapel. They planned to have a showing of the film on the church grounds on Saturday, June 27, 2026. I felt impressed to hold the rededication on that date and connect the rededication with their event.
A significant factor in making this happen depended upon my dear friend and spiritual mentor, Matt Hammack, and his beautiful family. Matt has an Elijah anointing. He, his family, another anointed family, the Kusters, and my best friend, Amy Jo Herring, and several others have prayer-walked with me every time I have asked them to do so. We started two years ago, praying over the downtown and other significant locations in our local community, as this has been a site for much witchcraft activity.
When Matt, his family, and the Kusters were available, I knew we had to jump on the opportunity. Betsy West, Regional Field Leader for IFA, graciously sent out an email blast, and within a short period of time, my inbox was overflowing with responses expressing interest. According to the responses I received, there were expected to be about forty to fifty people in attendance, with approximately forty people staying to participate in the viewing of A Great Awakening.
As the days drew closer, the weather forecast became less than favorable. I received several emails asking if the event would be rescheduled due to the weather. I felt strongly that we needed to have the event, rain or shine.
To my pleasant surprise, nearly seventy people came out to participate in the rededication event, even in the rain. We had originally planned to hold the event on the grounds of the Washington Memorial Chapel. We were denied permission, however, as the chapel and the chapel grounds are privately owned. Instead, we were encouraged to gather at the obelisk across the street, which is part of the Valley Forge National Historical public park.
Initially, I was fretting over this, as I truly felt led to pray where General George Washington had knelt to appeal to Heaven. In His divine providence, the Lord led us to the site where it was meant to be all along. I had prayed that we would be spiritually hidden in plain sight, and that location truly was the perfect setting, down lower than the road and ground level.
Valley Forge stands as the site of the turning point in the Revolutionary War. I am sure we can all see in our mind’s eye the image of General George Washington kneeling to pray, appealing to Heaven. His troops were starving and suffering in the bitter cold winter of 1777–1778, many of whom lacked even the most basic necessities, including clothing and shoes.
As we gathered, there was a crying out for the desperate need for repentance and forgiveness, as well as a cleansing and healing of the land through the prayer proclamations. There was also a cry for mercy and aid, asking our mighty Savior to bring a turning point in the spiritual war, just as happened in the Revolutionary War. There was praise and thanksgiving, a recognition of our lowly place, and a humbling of ourselves before the Lord. The response to the prayer proclamations was weeping, shouts of “Amen,” and agreement.
We could sense that the Holy Spirit was there, filling our hearts with a passion to see the revival we so desperately need to heal this nation and turn us back to the one true God at this sacred ground, where His Spirit poured out and brought the turning point leading to victory in the Revolutionary War. Before the prayer proclamations, we had an opening prayer and a time of silence to check our hearts before the Lord, making sure we did not have any open doors through which the evil one could enter as we engaged in spiritual battle for that territory.
Matt shared that he had discerned that while George Washington and our Founding Fathers did tremendous good, they were, in fact, fallible and sinners, just as we all are. He highlighted the significant impact of the Freemasons on certain of our founders, as well as the vows made and the worship of false gods associated with the Freemasons. He explained that this idol worship has brought curses upon this land and invited principalities to execute those curses.
He cited Deuteronomy 5:8–10, which explains the curses that extend to the third and fourth generations of those who worship false gods, but also the blessings upon those who love the true and living God and keep His commandments.
Matt did not discredit the amazing things that God performed through Washington, but rather addressed the curses that have been poured out on this land due to the association with the false gods of the Freemasons. He prayed for the breaking of the curses over this land, for the casting out of demons, and for the eviction of the evil principalities.
As we prayed and interceded, a precious intercessor highlighted that, as evil is cast out, if we do not fill the void with the Holy Spirit, the enemy can return with seven times the evil, as described in Matthew 12:43–45. She explained that the rain was a prophetic cleansing of evil from the land. She encouraged us that we need to keep going, keep praying, keep interceding, and keep doing the Lord’s work with Him; that this is not a one-and-done event, but an ongoing journey and process for the saving of this nation.
A sister shared a powerful dream of warning that this nation had forgotten Jesus and that the Lord was angry because of it. As a result of the dream, this dear woman, her family, and representatives from all fifty states wept before the Lord at the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, where they repented on behalf of our nation for forgetting Jesus. She explained that the Rededicate 250 event (May 17, 2026) on the National Mall was initially going to be an all-faith rededication. However, at the urging of the Lord to hold the time of prayer and repentance in front of the Liberty Bell on May 12, 2026, we saw this nation rededicated to God in Jesus’ name, a true confirmation of answered prayer.
We heard from a Daughter of the American Revolution as she repented for the obelisk, an ancient Egyptian symbol honoring false gods, around which we had gathered. The Daughters of the American Revolution erected the 50-foot obelisk in 1901. It is the only known gravesite at Valley Forge and marks the burial site of Lt. John Waterman.
We were standing on holy ground. She prayed, thanking the Lord for the people who laid down their lives so that we could be free. She declared that we come out from under the banner of death and come under the banner of God’s love. As she prayed, the rain poured down heavily as a sign of Almighty God’s blessing and grace. She declared that where we stood was a gate of Heaven. She prayed for that Great Awakening, asking the Lord to let it rain on America.
We had a dear sister share the story of the white stone verdict, citing Revelation 2:17:
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”
She spoke of the First Nations people, and the first stone she was led to bring was for them. She also cited Hebrews 12:23–24:
“To the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”
The second stone represented Ephesians 1:7–8:
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.”
She sought forgiveness for the stealing of over one million acres of land from the Lenape people through the evil walking purchase and prayed for the healing of the land from the shedding of innocent blood.
There was a declaration and a prayer that the Quakers would quake again. Prayers were lifted up for unity in the Body of Christ and for an awakening of the sleeping Bride. Prayers of repentance were offered for the hijacking of the Episcopal denomination, as well as many other denominations, for falling so far from the things of the Lord and turning toward the things of man.
A dear sister shared that the Lord showed her there would be a spiritual famine, but that at the chapel near the Liberty Bell, which was once a school for the deaf, the Word of the Lord would once again go forth audibly and visually from that place. This is connected with a beautiful testimony shared earlier, in which there was repentance and weeping at the Liberty Bell. It is also the site of 24-hour worship that takes place during the Days of Awe. That period of time exists between Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).
As George Whitefield shared the gospel in the open air, so we were urged to do likewise. It was expressed that we need to be openly sharing the gospel quickly and effectively.
A dear sister from Zimbabwe declared that the hearts of the fathers would be turned to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers. Saint after saint shared their testimonies, prayers, and declarations of how the Lord is pouring out upon this land, asking Him to forgive us and heal our land. Testimonies were shared of how the Lord spoke to them that the rain would pour out spiritually, along with the physical rain, as a prophetic manifestation of this.
We were reminded that we are the Bride of Christ. Our Lord promises to never leave us nor forsake us. A powerful prayer was lifted for the parents and grandparents not to be old wineskins, but to be a part of the glory river. This powerful man of God prayed over the young people in attendance to be raised up to see greater things than the generations before them had seen. A declaration was made that Philadelphia was the site of the birth of our nation and is going to be the site of the rebirth of this nation.
We opened with the song, Awaken Us Today, from the movie A Great Awakening. During our time of prayer, there were moments when we broke out into singing Onward, Christian Soldiers and Revive Us Again.
Prayer was lifted up in repentance, and for the canceling of Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro’s refusal to be a part of the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. By the time we arrived home that evening, we discovered that Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman had secured private funds to ensure that the Commonwealth would be represented during America’s 250th Anniversary celebration. A real-time answer to prayer! Praise the Lord!
Before we closed, in his Elijah anointing, Matt prayed a powerful commissioning over us for the Lord to pour out the mantles needed at this time in history. He prayed against the deception that has fallen upon this land and the Church. He prayed for spiritual discernment to fall upon us. Prayers were lifted for divine connections and for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to be poured out.
We closed our time of rededication with a shofar blast and a Joshua march around the obelisk seven times, with a mighty shout on the seventh time around. How can I best describe the Rededication event at Valley Forge on June 27, 2026? It was an atmosphere-shifting, principality-destroying, demonic-evicting, healing of our land, Holy Spirit-led time of prayer and intercession. I thank God for every precious soul that joined us on this spiritually significant day in history.
In Malachi 4:1–6, it says:
The Great Day of God
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly, will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.
“But to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” says the Lord of hosts.
“Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
