I don’t believe that I could ever write enough about the importance of your partnership with Intercessors for America. Whether you are a part of a prayer ministry, state group, or whatever you do, it matters. Though IFA focuses on interceding for the government and our nation’s leaders, news is constantly flowing. There will never be a shortage of things we can pray for. I recently learned of a miraculous answer to prayer that came on the heels of a state prayer call.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, IFA Alabama Co-State Leader Sally Reynolds was on a weekly call with the Southeastern AL intercessors, as well as IFA Regional Director Lisa Townsend, as they gathered for their weekly time of intercession. Lisa encouraged the group to pray for the specific needs of their state. Sally and the team included safety for Alabama as a primary target.  So, they prayed for several things, including infrastructure with Psalm 121:7-8 in mind. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

We prayed, “Lord, release your protection over Alabama, guard our communities, our schools, our roads, our first responders, our military bases, and every household. Let your peace rest on this state,” Sally said. 

Three days after this time of prayer, March 14, 2026. It had been reported that an underwater explosive device had been found in Big Creek Lake when contractors spotted it. The J.R Converse Reservoir Dam is the primary source of drinking water for the people of Mobile. The bomb was placed at the base of the dam. It was safely retrieved and moved to another location, where it was detonated. Though answers have yet to be revealed, Director Bud McCrory of MAWSS (Mobile Area Water and Sewer System) was grateful for the speed at which law enforcement, divers, and contractors handled the situation. 

We, too, are thankful this was caught beforehand, and we thank the Lord for answering and allowing for a smooth recovery that averted disaster. Local media reported this was an unprecedented threat to Alabama’s infrastructure. But God was speaking to the Intercessors to cover the infrastructure in prayer, and they obeyed. These are the spoils of our intercession. 

Sally shared a similar answer to prayer on an evening prayer call days before. One of the AL intercessors said, “We really need to pray for rain. At that time, Mobile, AL, was ten inches below normal. We had fire bans in Mobile due to a severe drought. This gentleman led the prayer, and we all agreed. The very next day, Fox weather popped up on my phone, the climate patterns had changed, and we would experience some relief with rain. It rained all over the state. With every answer to prayer, I just feel like the Lord is telling us to pray more,” Sally said. 

A Call to Arms for Intercessors

Sally believes this threat against their infrastructure was not only a wake-up call for Alabama, but for the entire nation to intercede for your state’s safety.  “This is a message to all states to check their infrastructure. We know, and we have been warned about the CCP targeting isolated infrastructure critical to our country. Our infrastructure needs intercessors. There are many places in our nation where we are susceptible to attack,” Sally said. 

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving (Colossians 4:2 AMP). 

Within three days, a major crisis was averted because the intercessors were listening and praying. That is something we can apply as we pray. Intercession involves our partnership with the Lord. We listen, and he directs us on how to pray. When we align with Him, we strike the mark in prayer. We must continue to keep our prayer shields up and ready to unite and cover as the Lord instructs us to pray.

Don’t lose heart, intercessors, or be distracted by what you see or hear. Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord, and most importantly, keep praying. 

Father, we thank You for protecting the people of Mobile from this threat. Thank You for thwarting the enemy’s plans through faithful intercessors. We agree in prayer. Release Your protection over my city, guard our communities, schools, military bases, first responders, and families. Cover us under the shadow of Your wings. We wait for Your instruction. Speak, Lord, we are listening. Help us to be faithful to stand in the gap for our state and be faithful watchmen on the walls for our cities, in Jesus’ name, amen.
