A taxpayer-funded Texas waterpark is facing mounting backlash after promoting a Muslim-only event complete with Islamic dress requirements and religious guidelines. Critics are now questioning whether a city-owned public facility can legally host an event that appears to exclude non-Muslims from participation.

From Daily Mail:

Epic Waters in Grand Prairie, Texas drew outrage this week as it released fliers for the June 1 event, which will demand a ‘modest dress code’ and serve only Halal-slaughtered meat.

Posters for the event say it will be ‘for Muslims only’ to create a ‘family-friendly environment’, with tickets starting at $55 each.

The waterpark’s website notes that men and women will not be separated during the event, but attendees are told to ‘uphold Islamic etiquette’ by ‘lowering the gaze’ throughout the day.

The event, organized by the East Plano Islamic Center, also instructs attendees to follow Islamic standards of modesty in both behavior and attire. Suggested swimwear for women reportedly includes full-body coverings and head-to-toe bathing attire consistent with Islamic customs. The taxpayer-funded waterpark, which opened in 2017, was built using $88 million generated through local sales taxes approved by Grand Prairie voters.

Conservative commentators and activists quickly condemned the event online, arguing that a publicly funded facility should not be permitted to host gatherings that appear to discriminate based on religion. Radio host Dana Loesch questioned how a city-owned venue could legally exclude non-Muslims, while others pointed out the outrage that would likely follow if any other religious group were similarly barred from a public event.

The controversy has reignited broader concerns about religious favoritism, equal access to public facilities, and the growing tension surrounding Islamic domination in American public life. As of now, Epic Waters and the East Plano Islamic Center have not publicly responded to the criticism.

As Islam continues its oppressive march across America, we should pray for wisdom and discernment for local leaders as they navigate issues involving religious freedom, equal treatment, and public accountability. America was founded on religious liberty and Christian truth — not government preference for one faith over another — and believers should remain vigilant in defending fairness, truth, and constitutional principles.

Pray for wisdom, fairness, and truth as communities navigate growing cultural and religious tensions.
