March is halfway over, and the midterms are getting closer and closer. With such an important election on the horizon, many states have taken action to change and protect their elections.

The Epoch Times has a list of all the states that have made changes, as well as what exactly they changed.

According to the Times, 38 states have made changes, with many of those changes being positive. For example, a number of states passed or updated voter ID laws, including red states like Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Meanwhile, other states have changed the rules to make voting less secure. For example, California changed its laws to allow for main-in ballot to be received up to seven days after election day, replacing the state’s existing three-day deadline. Others like Washington expanded existing automatic voter registration, potentially opening the door to even more voter fraud.

In addition to the above 12, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia also changed their laws. This year’s midterms promise to be uniquely important. If Republicans lose Congress, President Trump will likely be severely impeded for the rest of his time in office. If they win, however, or expand their majority, it could make it even easier to pass certain bills that have stagnated in both chambers over the past year.
