I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray that our allies in NATO would work with us to defend the Strait of Hormuz. We ask You to break all Iranian blockades in this region!

As Operation Epic Fury progresses, gas prices have skyrocketed. The main reason for this is that Iran has effectively closed down the Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint in global oil trade. Recently, however, President Trump called on NATO to defend the Strait, warning that the organization may face a “very bad” future if it refuses.

From Fox News:

“It’s only appropriate that people who are the beneficiaries of the strait will help to make sure that nothing bad happens there,” Trump told The Financial Times in an interview Sunday. “If there’s no response, or if it’s a negative response, I think it will be very bad for the future of NATO.”

Trump echoed those remarks in a press gaggle aboard Air Force One on Sunday night, returning to Washington, D.C., from a weekend at Mar-a-Lago, saying it would “be nice to have other countries police that with us, and we’ll help – we’ll work militarily.”

Trump is looking for NATO allies’ assistance in securing the oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz for the rest of the world. Trump administration officials have been repeating throughout the choking of the strait that the U.S. under Trump is a net exporter of oil and gets only a fraction of its oil from the Middle East – unlike the rest of the world, including NATO allies.

Despite his threat of a “very bad … future,” the President is reportedly optimistic that NATO will help. He told reporters, “We are talking to other countries about working with us about the policing of the strait, and I think we’re getting a good response.”

President Trump has been laser-focused on holiday NATO accountable during his second term. Earlier, he pressured the organization into spending 5% of GDP in defense spending, as Fox notes. This call to defend the Strait of Hormuz is just another way that the President is working to hold large international organizations accountable.

Let’s pray for the protection of the Strait, as well as for an end to Iranian aggression!

Hopefully, the nations comprising NATO will be willing to engage in protecting the Strait of Hormuz. I give President Trump credit in trying to get the NATO nations to help out with doing this. Lord Jesus, I pray that You will make a way for this effort to take place soon. This war needs to end ASAP. Keeping this Strait open is vital to the global economy. May Your will prevail in this endeavor. Thank You Jesus.

Father, I ask that those countries with interests in that area would understand how the world has changed, and, therefore, provide security protection for ships passing through that strait. The U.N. should declare that the strait does not belong to any country at its narrowest point, but rather is international waters. Finally, Father, we ask that You to halt the evil intentions of this Iranian regime. Stop Russia and China from supplying this regime with money and weapons. Bring a rapid resolution to the problem of shipping through this strait. May all ships pass peacably. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
