Oil Prices Spike — Should We Be Worried?
As Operation Epic Fury continues in the Middle East, oil prices have started to rise, with barrels at their highest price since 2022. Amid the chaos, President Trump is encouraging people not to panic.

From the Daily Wire:
Global benchmark Brent crude rose as high as $118 per barrel Monday morning before retreating to around $104, more than $10 above Friday’s close. It marked the first time Brent has surpassed $100 per barrel since the fall of 2022.
The operation against Iran and the regime’s response have disrupted oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said on Sunday night that the oil prices would drop as soon as Iran’s nuclear capabilities were completely destroyed.
“Short term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace. ONLY FOOLS WOULD THINK DIFFERENTLY!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In conjunction with oil prices, the Daily Wire also notes that the national average price for gas rose to $3.47 per gallon on Monday. Last week, this price sat at a comfortable $2.99.
Prices have spiked due to military action in the Middle East. Iran recently launched attacks on regional oil facilities, such as a Saudi Arabian refinery that produces around 550,000 barrels a day. The Islamic nation has also worked to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for the world’s oil. President Trump has suggested using the Navy to escort tankers through the Strait in an effort to counter this.
Rising prices have caused many to sour on Operation Epic Fury in recent days, accusing President Trump of breaking his campaign promise to lower prices. However, it’s important that we not panic. As the President said, these prices are only temporary. The long term stability that will come from our success in Iran may very well be worth the temporary pain.
Let’s pray for peace, stability, and an American victory in Iran!
