As conflict continues overseas, many in the states are still calling for the passage of the SAVE Act, legislation that would protect our elections. And recently, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a controversial Senate candidate, vowed to drop out of his race if the SAVE Act is passed.

“The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I’m committed to helping President Trump get it done,” Paxton wrote in a post on X. “I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act.”

He also blasted Cornyn as “a coward.”

“John Cornyn is a coward who has refused to support abolishing the filibuster to pass this bill,” he wrote. “Now, Fake News reporters and the establishment are trying to destroy me with misinformation.”

In his post, Attorney General Paxton touted his loyalty to the President, highlighting how he fought “the stolen 2020 election” and stood “with him in NY in the face of lawfare.” He stressed that he is “determined to help him get this done.”

In Tuesday’s primary, both Attorney General Paxton and Senator John Cornyn failed to secure their party’s nomination for the Senate race, securing 41 and 42 percent of the vote respectively. The two will now advance to a May 26 runoff that will determine which Republican will fight for Texas’ available Senate seat.

On Wednesday, President Trump announced on Truth Social he would soon endorse one of the candidates, calling on the other to “DROP OUT OF THE RACE” following his endorsement. The Attorney General, however, said he wouldn’t drop out if he did not receive an enforcement, a sentiment that frustrated the President.

This year’s midterms promise to be contentious and critical. It’s important that our leaders pass the SAVE Act to secure one of the most important elections of our lifetime. Let’s ask God to intervene!
