Purim, Blood Moons, and President Eisenhower: The Striking Connection
Antisemitism is the oldest hatred on the planet, and sadly, it’s not going away. For decades, however, many believed it had vanished. Unfortunately, this irrational antipathy was always lurking just beneath the surface–cold and deadly, like a massive iceberg lying in wait.
Who is praying on the wall?
The October 7, 2023, attacks in Israel brought antisemitism to the forefront when at least 1,200 Israelis were murdered, and more than 250 people were taken hostage. Consequently, many historians describe October 7 as the deadliest attack on the Jews since the Holocaust.
While the evidence of rape, torture, mutilation, and barbaric murders was horrible enough, perhaps the most shocking result of that dreadful day was the rabid antisemitism that squirmed its way out of the shadows. Like a snake hiding in a deep, dark crevice, this Satanic hatred slithered through social media, popular podcasts, and into the minds of influential people. Antisemitism continues to grow as lies replace truth and well-documented historical facts are thrown out like useless garbage.
Two Blood Moons Tell a Story
As the Jewish holiday known as Purim arrives this year on March 2-3, 2026, it’s more crucial than ever that intercessors are armed with the truth. This holiday commemorates the time when an evil, antisemitic man named Haman plotted to exterminate all the Jews in Persia. Each year, as this holiday is celebrated, the Scroll of Esther is read aloud, and Jewish people are reminded that God delivered them from the enemies who wanted their existence wiped out.
This year, a total lunar eclipse will coincide with Purim (check out the details here). A total lunar eclipse is also referred to as a blood moon because the moon turns a dramatic reddish-copper color during totality. Interestingly enough, there was a total lunar eclipse (blood moon) which coincided with Purim in 2025 as well. Thus, for two years in a row, blood moons have appeared on a holiday that embodies the story of a brave Jewish woman who stood up for her people so they wouldn’t be wiped out.
The Iran–Persia Connection
It’s important to note that modern-day Iran was once known as Persia. Several months after the Purim blood moon of 2025, the United States launched large-scale attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities known as Operation Midnight Hammer. Moreover, several days before the 2026 blood moon on Purim, Operation Roaring Lion unleashed the largest strike mission in the history of the Israeli Air Force in order to target “Persia’s” ballistic missile launchers.
Some would say that the blood moons falling on Purim are a coincidence. Yet with the recent military actions against the Iranian regime, and the deaths of many high-ranking officials, biblical scholars point out that the “Hamans” of modern times are seeing their own evil scripts being flipped. Thus, these plotters have ended up in the very gallows they had erected for the Jewish people.
Additionally, since October 7, 2023, Jewish blood has been spilled throughout the world as the spirit of Haman unleashes its fury. From violent protests, death threats, and mass murder, to hateful voices repeating the same lies that Hitler spewed from the demonic realm, it’s all the same evil plot. Satan has hated the Jewish people since the Garden of Eden, and his goal is to keep God’s promises of restoration from being fulfilled.
President Eisenhower: A Powerful Witness to History
During the season of Purim, one particular American president comes to mind because of his incredible foresight when it came to bearing witness to the devastation and brutality of the Holocaust.
“The things I saw beggar description…I made the visit deliberately in order to be in a position to give firsthand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations to merely propaganda.”
Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe, wrote the above statement in a letter to Army Chief of Staff George C. Marshall in April 1945. Eisenhower personally toured Ohrdruf and Buchenwald Concentration Camps shortly before Germany surrendered during World War 2. After looking upon the sheer horrors of the camps, he understood that the atrocities of the Holocaust must be thoroughly documented, so they couldn’t be denied in the future.
Eisenhower declared, “The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick. In one room, where they were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said he would get sick if he did so.”
The overwhelming experience of viewing such carnage shook this calm and steady commander to the core, but it ignited a great sense of moral responsibility within his heart.
Documenting the Undeniable Truth
Eisenhower ensured that the “conditions of indescribable horror” were recorded, chronicled, and preserved through photographs and newsreels. Additionally, tours were arranged for reporters, dignitaries, members of Congress, and world leaders so they too could bear witness to history.
Troops were encouraged to view the camps as well, so they could testify to the savagery and inhumanity on display. German civilians from nearby towns were forced to tour the area so they couldn’t later claim ignorance of what happened there. The U.S. Army created a documentary titled Nazi Concentration Camps that was shown at the Nuremberg Trials and used as official evidence against Nazi leaders and collaborators.
After the war, newsreel footage from the concentration camps was viewed by the public so Americans could see for themselves that the Jewish people were starved, thrown in mass graves, gassed, tortured, and treated like animals. Major publications such as the New York Times and Life Magazine featured graphic images, warning viewers that the photos were shocking, but necessary in order for the world to understand the horrific nature of the crimes.
Eisenhower’s goal in this meticulous documentation was to make sure that no one could say that the Holocaust was exaggerated. An undeniable historical record was not just essential; it was a matter of life and death. Hatred for the Jews had already claimed upwards of six million lives. After the horrors of the Holocaust, the Jewish people vowed Never Again. President Eisenhower’s bold actions showed that he, too, made a vow to keep history from repeating itself.
When the World Denies the Holocaust
Even with all the documentation, the countless testimonies of Holocaust survivors, and evidence in major museums such as Yad Vashem and the United States Holocaust Museum, there are still those today who deny that the Holocaust happened or minimize the atrocities that occurred. On social media, this phenomenon is becoming all too common, as podcasters and influencers try to convince people that the Holocaust is nothing more than a tool of the Jews to gain sympathy and draw attention away from their plans to dominate the world. The widespread growth of Islam in America and Europe is also influencing many to believe that the Holocaust is a massive propaganda scheme. This is just one of the many ways that antisemitism manifests.
The spirit of Haman is alive and well when we hear influencers like Nick Fuentes say, “America doesn’t give a f*** about the Holocaust.” It echoes through the words of political commentator Tucker Carlson, who insists that those who love and support Israel have been seized by a “brain virus.” Antisemitism’s rallying cry can be heard from those who say that Iran (Persia) is harmless, and the world should leave Israel to defend itself against the widespread decrees of death.
While there are entire websites dedicated to debunking the Holocaust, the truth of the matter is that those who hate Israel and the Jews aren’t simply warring against the Jews–they are warring against God and His prophetic plan of restoration for the Jewish people.
Do Not Bow Down to Antisemitism
The story of Purim bears a striking resemblance to what’s happening between modern-day Iran (Persia) and Israel. Iran’s leaders have hurled threats of annihilation against the Jewish people for decades. Empowered by their enemies, they promise “Death to Israel.” But as the spirit of Haman is released, so is the spirit of Esther and Mordecai.
Mordechai the Jew would not bow down to Haman the antisemite. This very act of not paying homage to Haman unleashed a fury so great that a decree to destroy the Jews was created.
Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom. Their laws are different from those of every other people, and they do not keep the king’s laws, so that it is not to the king’s profit to tolerate them. If it pleases the king, let it be decreed that they be destroyed, Esther 3:8-9.
If one were to cite all the enemies of the Jewish people, the list would be quite long. But whether it’s Josef Stalin, Ayatollah Khamenei, Adolf Hitler, Hamas, or the latest Holocaust denier, it’s the same spirit of Haman that demands that the world bow down to antisemitism.
In this day and age, it’s common for people to bow down to just about anything. Why? Because oftentimes there’s risk involved if one does not go along with the narrative. Unfortunately, the narrative of mainstream media, academia, global organizations, and rogue nations is that the Jewish people are the enemy.
When Queen Esther spoke up for her people, the Jews, there was a huge amount of risk–her very life was on the line. Mordecai reminded her: For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14
As followers of Jesus Christ (whose lineage is Jewish), we too are in a royal position for “such a time as this.” We are not powerless against the spirit of Haman, but rather we have been granted authority by our Father in heaven to intercede for and speak up for our Jewish brethren. Like Corrie ten Boom, who endured the harsh conditions of a concentration camp for her stand against antisemitism, we too may have to pay a price when we speak out against Haman.
Haman wanted Mordecai the Jew to bow down to him. But in the end, Haman found himself groveling at the feet of Queen Esther, who was also a Jew. Oh, how the tables turned as Haman’s antisemitic actions backfired.
God Will Preserve Israel
The Word of God is clear. When it comes to the Jewish people (Israel), they will never be completely destroyed by those who hate them. Jeremiah 31:35-36, KJV clearly states,
Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar…If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.
This means that the existence of the Jewish people (the nation of Israel) is as permanent as the natural order of the earth.
Olivier Melnick writes in his book, Antisemitism in the End Times, that, “With or without us, God’s plan will come to fruition, and the Jewish people will play a key role in the final chapter of mankind. As those who are on God’s team, we should desire to be actively on the side of God’s chosen people all the way to the end, looking forward to the day when all things will be reversed for the Jews, as promised by the prophet Zechariah.”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days, ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you,” Zechariah 8:23.
Intercessors, we are living in that “such a time as this” moment. Now, more than ever, we must look to the examples of those who have stood in the gap for the Jewish people, such as President Eisenhower, Corrie ten Boom, President Trump, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and countless others. It’s time to “take hold of the robe of a Jew” and walk beside them, knowing that God’s plans WILL come to fruition.
Lord Jesus, as the spirit of antisemitism rises, we too shall rise and stand up for the Jewish people. Ultimately, we know that the “Hamans” of this world must bow down to God.
We are living in unprecedented times, but we know that these times are in God’s hands. How are you praying for Israel and the Jewish people?

This is a wonderful article, Angela. Thank you for writing it. Very true in so many aspects. “Those who curse the Jews will be cursed and those who bless the Jews will be blessed.” God’s words to Abraham. This still holds true today. God bless them as God’s people. God bless you, too, Angela.
I was surprised to read in para 8 above:
” Satan has hated the Jewish people since the Garden of Eden…”
Was that a misprint or are we crediting ‘it’ with omniscience? The evil one is a creature not a god.
Wonderful article. i am sharing it widely
