Iran Threatens U.S. As Negotiations Continue
As nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran continue, the Islamic nation recently partially closed a vital strait on Tuesday, shutting down one of the world’s most important oil choke points.
Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.
From CNBC:
Iran partially closed the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, state media reported, citing “security precautions” as Tehran’s Revolutionary Guard conducts military drills in the waterway.
It comes as the U.S. and Iran hold talks in the Swiss city of Geneva, seeking to resolve an ongoing dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program.
It marks the first time Iran has shut parts of the Strait of Hormuz, a major international waterway that links crude producers in the Middle East with key markets across the globe, since U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Tehran with military action in January.
According to CNBC, the Strait of Hormuz, located between Oman and Iran, is “one of the world’s most important oil choke points.” Around 13 million barrels of crude oil passed through the strait every day in 2025.
While these military drills could be innocuous, they are likely part of a larger strategy to intimidate the United States. According to the Daily Caller, Russia and China, outspoken enemies of the U.S., deployed naval vessels to join in these drills in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, President Trump has previously threatened to attack Iran if a nuclear agreement is not reached. Will all of this taken into account, it seems like Iran’s goal in closing the strait and carrying out military drills was to intimidate and threaten the U.S.
Negotiations appear to be progressing, with CNBC noting that Iran and the U.S. reached an understanding of the “guiding principles” during recent talk. However, this progress does not mean a deal with be made soon, as there is still more work to be done.
As negotiations continue, let’s pray for a favorable outcome. Let’s also pray that any attempt from Iran to harm the U.S. would fail!

So, are you implying that Iran has warships surrounding the USA? However, the reality is that the USA has warships surrounding Iran. Therefore, the threat comes from the USA. Why the distortion?
