On Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton failed to show up for his scheduled deposition before the House Oversight Committee, placing himself under contempt of Congress.

At 10:07 a.m. today, House Oversight Committee counsel initiated the deposition of former President William J. Clinton, noting for the record that he was not present. Exhibit materials included prior communications from Clinton’s attorney, David Kendall, acknowledging receipt of the original subpoena in August and a follow-up letter from Chairman Comer on December 15, 2025, warning that failure to appear could trigger contempt of Congress proceedings. As of 10:10 a.m., Clinton’s seat remained empty.
Chairman James Comer added: “It’s a shame President Clinton failed to appear in accordance with our duly authorized congressional subpoena. The Oversight Committee will now initiate contempt of Congress proceedings against the former president for defying the law.”
The bipartisan subpoenas—issued to both Clintons in August 2025—followed a July 2025 vote by the House Oversight Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement to expand the Epstein investigation and direct the issuance of subpoenas. Chairman Comer later clarified that the full Oversight Committee approved the move, stating: “This wasn’t something that I just issued as chairman of the committee. This was voted on by the entire committee in a unanimous vote.”
Bill Clinton had previously offered to provide a written statement instead of a live testimony, an offer that was extended to other officials such as James Comey and Robert Mueller. Chairman Comer, however, stressed the need for testimony, highlighting how Epstein visited the White House 17 times under the Clinton administration, and how the former president had flown on the sex trafficker’s plane “somewhere around 27 times.”
The Clintons formerly made a post on X slamming the Oversight Committee’s subpoenas, asserting that other witnesses were treated differently. Neither showed up for their depositions this week, and contempt proceedings are set to begin next week.
Even as the Clintons refuse to testify, let’s pray for the full truth about Epstein to come out, and let’s pray for justice!

Lord, we pray for justice to be done. For individuals who have done wrong to admit their wrong, to confess their sin, and to cry out to You for forgiveness and restoration and salvation.
Teach us Lord, to pray, to plead, for Your Will to be done as it is NOW being done in Heaven. You, Lord, reign supreme and You see the end from the beginning. Your loving justice is being meted out NOW. Show us how to be channels of that loving justice as we stand in the gap to pray for our government. Help us realize our very own shortcomings to grasp hold of the reality that we too need to own our own waywardness and repent likewise.
Thank You, Lord, for the Cross. Thank You, Lord, for Your blessings to be called Your children and to live at such a time as this.
Oh, Lord, we seek to see more people saved. We long to rejoice at their salvation
