Our military may have captured Nicolás Maduro, but the fight is far from over. Just like with America’s deep state, the corruption in Venezuela is far bigger than one man, and Maduro’s loyalists and inner circle are working behind the scenes to ensure the survival of their regime.

Plain-clothes gunmen deployed by Venezuela’s leaders are walking the streets and stopping vehicles as they crack down on dissent and pro-American sentiment in the wake of the capture of dictator Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces.
The paramilitary members, known as Colectivos, were out in full force on Tuesday as the pro-Maduro regime seeks to maintain control of the country following the surprise U.S. strikes over the weekend, The Guardian reported. Men armed with rifles set up checkpoints in the capital city of Caracas, where they stopped drivers to search their vehicles, phones, and personal belongings, looking for any evidence of support for the United States capturing Maduro, according to The Telegraph.
Police, meanwhile, were instructed to “immediately begin the national search and capture of everyone involved in the promotion or support for the armed attack by the United States.”
The situation in the nation is tense. 14 journalists were detained on Monday, though all but one were later released. Two people in Western Venezuela were arrested for celebrating Maduro’s capture. One resident of Caracas said “fear” pervades the nation, telling The Guardian, “You never know what might happen, they might attack people.”
These crackdowns were likely organized by Maduro’s inner circle, who have been fighting to control the situation ever since their leader’s capture. Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has taken over as president of Venezuela, and the Daily Wire notes that those familiar with the situation insist she’s no better than Maduro. In fact, a separate Daily Wire article notes she was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the European Union in 2018 for being a member of Maduro’s inner circle and undermining democracy.
That same Daily Wire article also highlights Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, known as one of the most powerful men in Venezuela. He urged Venezuelans to remain calm after Saturday’s attack, reportedly calling the U.S. a “criminal and terrorist” state. He was also sanctioned by the Treasury in 2018 over his extensive corruption.
Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez also wields a great deal of power. The four-star general vowed to resist U.S. troops, characterizing Saturday’s attack as “criminal military aggression by the government of the United States of North America.” He too was sanctioned by the Treasury in 2018 over his ties to Maduro.
Finally, the last member of Maduro’s inner circle the Daily Wire warns about is Jorge Rodriguez, brother of Delcy Rodriguez and president of the National Assembly. The Daily Wire calls him “a key strategist and figure in ensuring Maduro remained in power.” He and his sister also reportedly have strong ties to the economic elite. Like the other members of Maduro’s inner circle, Jorge Rodriguez was sanctioned in 2018 over his ties to Maduro.
Uprooting corruption in Venezuela may seem like a near-impossible task, but nothing is impossible to our God. Let’s pray for freedom to spread in Venezuela and for an end to socialist oppression!

In 2001 I went to Venezuela and taught University students in person and later continued online. All but one were disgusted with the Chavez regime. Most were thinking of leaving Venezuela and maybe they did. I lost contact with most of them after I retired. I pray that all of them are well and they will be able to see their country liberated from the pro-socialist miserable situation that only enrich the ones in power.
Dear Lord, I pray for peace to prevail in Caracas and the rest of Venezuela. I pray that the evil leadership of Venezuela is uprooted and replaced with righteous leadership in Jesus name. Amen.
Heavenly Father we commit to your wisdom, care and guidance the situation in Venezuela. The evil which is entrenched is far greater than just Nicolas Madura and his wife. Only you can root it out by exposing and dismantling the corrupt individuals who continue to threaten the people of Venezuela.

May the leaders of the U.S. provide them with accurate information on the process going forward that they may understand what is and will happen so they can move forward and rebuild their country. The problem with overthrowing a government is that we can get drawn into a decades-lasting military presence, as in Iraq and Afghanistan, we can install a regime willing to crush allies of the former government, or we can do what Trump did here, allow the government to stay in place and work out deals with those people. This military action had to be done because China and Russia were in the process of taking over Lain America (thanks to Biden), and that was a direct threat to our national security. Anyone who doubts that should imagine what it would be like to have Russian, Chinese and Iranian secret police set up headquarters in all American cities. The democrats are the party of treason and have been colluding with our enemies for decades. For money and (temporary) power. There is, I am certain, a special place in the Lake of Fire for them all but the immediate issue at hand is how to control Venezuela through its thuggish government. Tremendous skill is needed…but more importantly, God’s favor.
Whether I thank you that Donald Trump is patiently waiting to see how things shake out among these so-called leaders in Venezuela. Wise as a serpent but general as a dove. I thank you that you will give him the next move. He should make in this particular part of the chess game. I thank you for his gifted intellect that you gave to him and are now using on the world scene in order to set people free in order that they might use the free will that you gave freely to them. Venezuela still has other beasts like Diosdado Cabello and Vladmir Padrino with the Military still running the country. There has to be new elections that are free and fair once this corruption has been fully removed.
Thank you God for the people of Venezuela and their safety as they weather the storm after the chaos in their country. I pray for the safety of the people in south Florida who are celebrating relief from a communist state of Venezuela. Let your mercy be with the families and give them wisdom to continue to pray for their sisters and brothers that are still in Venezuela.
I pray for continued support and angelic protection over each cabinet member and President Trump and that there will be no harmful retaliation against the administration. Keep President Trump focusing on God and to receive wisdom from godly counsel only. I pray that all of this chaos over the left blaming President Trump will be over and the that we will see that the people should be protected and get freedom to live again. Praying for Venezuela, but also praying for the US and President Trump. As Venezuela is it’s own country, are we overstepping by arresting the President and his wife of Venezuela? I do pray that justice be done, but also for revival for the Venezuelan people as a whole. In Jesus Name’ Amen.
Lord, uproot evil. Tear down. Then, rebuild through revival and restoration of righteousness and justice. Restore Christianity to Venezuela that people would truly be free, especially those who are bent on totalitarianism. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

Father, we pray protection over Venezuelans during this transition of power. Give them strength to continue the good fight. Replace corrupt leaders with godly leaders in Venezuela. Replace communism with freedom to worship you as Lord and Savior and to prosper in all areas in the lives of Venezuelans. I also pray, Lord, that You would root out all evil and corruption in the government of Venezuela. As You led the Israelites out of Egypt and bondage, I pray YOU will led the Venezuelan people out of bondage to this evil government. You Lord appoint kings and rulers, I pray You will send good men who love and honor You will be appointed to lead this contry that the people may live in safety and harmony.
