As the shutdown continues, more and more airports are seeing shortages in air traffic controllers. As the crisis continues, the Trump administration is warning that Americans may experience flight delays.

U.S. airports reported more than 20 incidents of air traffic controller shortages on Saturday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said, in the latest sign of the government shutdown’s impact.
Some 13,000 air traffic controllers and about 50,000 Transportation Security Administration officers must work even if they are not being paid during the shutdown, which started on October 1 as lawmakers deadlocked over the federal budget.
The Trump administration has warned that flight disruptions will increase as controllers miss their first full paycheck on Tuesday.
Secretary Duffy told Fox News on Sunday that the Federal Aviation Administration had 22 “triggers” that indicated shortages of air traffic controllers. The Secretary called this “a sign that the controllers are wearing thin.”
The Daily Wire notes there were reportedly 5,300 flight delays on Saturday and over 2,500 delays by noon on Sunday. And with no end in sight for the government shutdown, Secretary Duffy says there will likely be more controller shortages, leading to more flight delays and cancellations.
According to the Daily Wire, today would be air traffic controllers’ “first pay period solely for work in October.” With the shutdown, however, controllers won’t be paid, meaning many will look for other options. Secretary Duffy noted that many are taking second jobs and looking for other sources of income. This has left the industry and airports across the nation in the lurch, exasperating shortages that already existed before the shutdown.
As the shutdown continues, more and more industries and more and more families are struggling. Let’s pray for a swift, God-honoring end to this crisis!

I’ve been in aviation for 26 years. Not a long time but long enough to know and have seen a LOT. Some things are reported. Most are not. I have made comments on EWR airport and the massive shortage at that airport. It’s been that way for years. Long before the shutdown. Prayer Warriors are always praying for safe air transportation. The prayers are needed. I love my President and he is doing a great job. It will take so much “unwinding” for our Airports. It is the main mode of transportation. Reports of “people wearing thin” makes people apprehensive. These people are still flying and it’s the Airport employees who have to deal with the fear of people and de-escalate situations. So continue to pray and report positive!
In Jesus’s name! I speak Jesus over the shutdown. I speak jesus over all that is happening involving the shutdown, I ask in Jesus name that all things will come according to your will, and those who will be affected and are already affected that you will allow your provisions to take care of their families, Father God, this nation needs so much help. Please put your mighty power over each situation and help those in need and help us thank you, Jesus.

Let the shutdown end today . Let the evildoers involved , repent and let the Righteousness of God spring forth. We Decree , the Government shutdown ends today and let the people rejoice.

Almighty God, I pray that the real truth behind the government shutdown will be unquestionably revealed. You know how to solve this problem and we trust You to reveal it to us. In Jesus name. Amen.
God of the Universe, the God who turns the necks of Kings, who raises up one and puts down another, I ask You to speak to each of those who have the authority to bring the appropriate resolution to this stalemate. My Father and King, let Your voice be heard in the ears of every one of who is blockading this bill passage. Help them all to find the middle ground which satisfies both sides. In it all, may all that is good and right, just and righteous prevail. For those who won’t hear of compromise, displace them. In Jesus’ Name and for God’s glory, Amen.
