This November, Virginia will elect a new attorney general. And, according to leaked text messages, one candidate, Democrat Jay Jones, has fantasized about murdering Republicans.

In text messages obtained first by National Review, Jones says to another lawmaker that he would use two bullets to murder then-GOP House Speaker Todd Gilbert.

“Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, Hitler and Pol Pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” Jones texted to Del. Carrie Coyner (R). “Spoiler: put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know and he receives both bullets every time.”

Earlier in the text messages, Jones expressed that he would attend the funerals of Republican lawmakers in Virginia “to [urinate] on their graves.”

In the texts, Jones also called Gilbert and his wife evil, accusing them of “breeding little fascists.” He also claimed to want Gilbert’s children to die, writing, “Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.

Jones has reportedly not denied sending the messages, which were sent on August 8, 2022. He stated he regrets the messages and accused his opponent in the election, current Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares, of “dropping smears through Trump-controlled media organizations to assault his character.”

These revelation comes at a shocking point in American history. Across the nation, we are seeing more and more Democrat lawmakers and officials label Republican lawmakers and civilians alike as fascists and Nazis. This hostility even led to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative influencer who was labeled a fascist by his killer.
