Kirk’s faith was an incredibly important part of his life, and it’s a part that many have been focusing on in the wake of his death. In a recent CBN article, his faith story is laid out in its entirety, from when he first accepted Christ in fifth grade to when he met Him in Heaven.

From CBN:

“I heard a hot gospel,” Kirk said in a podcast in 2024. “And so I realized the stakes in 5th grade. I’m a sinner, I’m selfish, I’m broken and only thanks to Jesus’s perfect sacrifice, coming and living a perfect life that I get something I do not earn but has been given to me, this free gift of eternal life.”

Another important decision around that time came when his parents left a liberal version of the Presbyterian Church, something he discussed with CBN News six years ago.

“When I was 12 or 13 years old, my parents made the decision, as I and many others started to realize, it became much more about political doctrine and social relativism and theology second,” Kirk explained. “My parents took me out of that church. It was a great decision.”

Kirk’s parents’ decision to switch churches is likely what made him the strong, outspoken believer he was in recent years. At a time when Christianity for many has been watered down, Kirk was an unashamed champion of conservative, biblical values.

In an interview with CBN, Kirk explained that, while forming Turning Point USA after high school, his faith reached a turning point of its own. When he “started to experience real adversity,” Kirk said he chose to become “more essentially unapologetic about my Christianity.” When given the choice to choose between his faith or the secular world, he chose to “reaffirm [his] faith.”

According to Pastor Rob McCoy, Kirk’s pastor who also spoke to CBN, the conservative influencer’s faith changed forever when he first traveled to Israel in 2018. According to CBN, Kirk became “unapologetic for Christ” after his trip to the Holy Land.

Though Kirk’s death was a great tragedy, it appears to have inspired many, especially young people, to stand boldly for Christ. The Enemy thought he could silence Kirk by killing him but, in reality, he only made this Christian martyr into a lighthouse, guiding scores of lost sheep to the risen King and Savior. Praise God!
