An online publication recently mentioned there is a subreddit group of witches that are casting spells on President Trump nightly. The news should not come as a surprise. If you recall 2017, reports emerged that witches were placing spells against President Trump; however, these efforts were and have been unsuccessful because intercessors have been praying. If witches can commit nightly to cast spells and hexes on leaders in our nation, then how much more should we continue to intercede?

The contents of that article were disheartening. One thing that stood out to me is that these witches are committed to cursing our President. As Christians, we must have an even greater commitment because of what is at stake and who we serve. Witches are unified in their pursuit to curse our President and leaders who promote righteousness, whether governmental or spiritual, but for too long, the church has been at war with itself. We must be united in Christ.

Whenever you begin your prayer during spiritual warfare, ask God to cover you, search your heart, and repent if prompted. Remember that we pray from a position of victory (1 Corinthians 15:57). Know your identity in Christ. You are redeemed. You are an overcomer by the blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11). You have been given authority (Luke 10:19).

Our President Needs Our Intercession

Psalm 91 is one of the more well-known chapters in the Bible. It contains many promises of protection for God’s people. Here’s how we can pray for him.

• Pray that President Trump will seek and trust the Lord, who is his ultimate Protector (Psalm 91:1). 
• Pray for President Trump to receive rest and be sustained by God (Psalm 91:2). 
• Pray for deliverance from every scheme, hidden trap, and hexes of his enemies (Psalm 91:3-4).
• Pray that President Trump will be bold and courageous, trusting in the Lord, whatever comes his way (Psalm 91:5-7).
• Pray that any attempts against him will be met with God’s justice (Psalm 91:8). 
• Pray that he will not be overtaken by harm and that his home and family will be safe from disaster (Psalm 91:9-10).
• Pray angels will cover, and go before him, delivering him from evil (Psalm 91:11-13).
• Pray that as President Trump calls upon God, He will manifest His Presence to him. That God will deliver, honor, and with a long life show him His salvation. (Psalm 91:14-16).

Most witches will say they don’t use spells to cause harm, but for “good,” but to actively seek spells of misfortune upon a person is evil. Witchcraft is about power, manipulation, and ultimately control (1 Kings 21:25). 

Here are other ways to pray for President Trump.

The mainstream media is obsessing over our President’s health. I consider this likened to witchcraft. They want to spread a bad report, instilling fear, just as the ten spies who came back from Jericho spoke of the giants, causing Israel to fear possessing what God promised them. But we choose to believe the Lord’s report.

• The scriptures from the Old and New Testaments are filled with healing scriptures. Declare God’s Word over President Trump. 
• Pray that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
• Ask God to bless his travel, both locally and to other states or countries (Deut. 28:6).

Witchcraft influences those under its spell. Ahab and all the false prophets were under Jezebel’s influence. Simon the sorcerer influenced many in his city (Acts 8:9-10). 

• Pray for President Trump to have a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
• Pray that every curse against him will not land (Proverbs 26:2). 

When Balaam saw that God would not allow him to curse Israel, he gave King Balak bad counsel to cause the people to sin against God. 

• Pray that those who would give President Trump bad counsel may be exposed, removed, and that it will be rejected (Proverbs 15:22)

Bless and Do Not Curse

Christians do not “pray” for misfortune or judgment on others. That is cursing, and that is the same thing witches do. Jesus rebuked James and John for wanting to call down fire on the Samaritans (Luke 9:56). 

After the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk, who was also being targeted by witchcraft, I went to the Lord in prayer. I was not only heartbroken, but I was also angry at the thought of witches celebrating. God reminded me of Jesus’ prayer, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” I repented of my anger and surrendered it to God.

Jesus prayed and asked forgiveness for the ones who crucified and reviled him while on the cross. Stephen, the first martyr of the New Testament, would pray for forgiveness for his killers while being stoned to death (Acts 7:60). 

But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you (Luke 6:27-28).

We do not repay evil with evil, but we overcome evil with good. Witches are lost and need Jesus. We have the same enemy, Satan. The only difference is that they have no idea that the craft they put their hope in will cost them their soul.

• Pray that witches will see that all power really belongs to God (Psalm 62:11). 
• Pray they will repent, and turn away from darkness, and encounter the true Light of the World, Jesus Christ (John 8:12).

 Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed (Acts 19:18-20)

Combatting the Curses

We are at war, but our battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). This is a spiritual battle, and the Lord has given us spiritual weapons to fight it (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).

• The Word of God is powerful and never returns void. Decree, declare, and prophesy it. Remind yourself and meditate on His promises. It is a living two-edged sword.
• Magnify the name of Jesus Christ. You can do this in prayer, worship, or when you share Jesus with others. Make His name greater than any bad reports, rumors, or issues. Our problems might be great, but our God is even greater. 
• Use the blood of Jesus; it’s by his blood we have overcome. It cleanses, redeems, and protects us. It will never lose its power. Speak scriptures about His blood and apply them to your intercession. His blood is our most effective weapon. 
• The Word of your testimony. Jesus did His part at the cross. It is finished. However, the testimony is our part. We cannot be silent any longer.
• Fast and Pray. Jesus said that “this kind” will not come out but by fasting and prayer. It’s not about the food, though we abstain when we fast; it’s about denying our flesh and humbling ourselves. There are times when fasting is necessary. 
• Let praise be a weapon. Judah goes first into battle. Lift your voice and give God the glory, not just in the midst of your battles, but at all times. It confuses the enemy. There is no one like our God. 
• Invite God into the midst of our circumstances through worship. Place your eyes where they rightfully belong, on Him. It is a lifestyle of intimate devotion to the Lord. Worship is giving God the honor, glory, and reverence He is due, and it can shift an atmosphere.
• Give thanks at all times. As we thank God for what He does, even in the midst of our difficulties, our faith is stirred to believe for the impossible. If God has done it before, He can surely do it again. 
• Take communion as you feel led by the Lord. Jesus said As often as you do this, you show the Lord’s death until he comes. It doesn’t have to be once a month. It is a beautiful and powerful reminder that without the death of Jesus, there would have been no redemption and no resurrection. We partake in the blessings and appropriate His victory when we take communion.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 says we should intercede for all in authority. Pray for our President, national and state leaders, for ministries, and spiritual leaders. Anyone who is making an impact for God’s kingdom is susceptible to attacks, including you and me. The call to intercede has never been more critical than it is now.
