Charlie Kirk: A Legacy of Faith
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God, Hebrews 11:8-10.

Living By Faith
Hebrews 11, aptly coined as “The Hall of Faith” by biblical scholars, has been likened to the Hall of Fame, which showcases only the best, most dedicated athletes. The honorary “Hall of Faith,” however, is reserved only for those who exemplified extraordinary faith in God.
This inspiring chapter of the Bible was written to provide encouraging examples of real people living out their faith. Each verse is a powerful reminder that Christians must persevere through all things, whether it be persecution, temptation, violence, mocking, torture, or even death.
As Christians and intercessors, many of us have read the verses of Hebrews 11, and it strikes a deep part of our hearts as we realize that we, too, must live our lives with unwavering faith. But sometimes, this is easier said than done.
Mourning the Death of Charlie Kirk
The tragic murder of beloved conservative speaker and talk show host Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, has prompted many intercessors to step back and ask, “Why, Lord?”
Why would an amazing man of God be struck down in the prime of his youth?
Why would this warrior for truth be murdered in cold blood while witnessing to hundreds of young people who needed to hear the gospel?
Rather than ask why, let us look at who Charlie Kirk was and how he will go down in history as a man who knew that “without faith it is impossible to please God.”
What Does Faith Look Like?
In the Christian world, it’s common to say, “Keep the faith,” “Have faith,” or “Be faithful,” but what does this actually look like?
Charlie Kirk’s final moments show us a vivid picture of what all these phrases mean. In his last seconds on earth, Charlie was witnessing to a crowd of young people who were hungry for truth. He had done this many times before and had often encountered hostility and hate. He was well aware that death threats had been made against him in the past. He knew that his very presence stirred a wide range of emotions in people from curious enthusiasm to outright rage. But he showed up anyway. He had already counted the cost, and Jesus was worth it.
By faith, Noah, being warned by God concerning events yet unseen in reverent fear, constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this, he condemned the world and became an heir of righteousness that comes by faith, Hebrews 11:7.
Noah counted the cost. He knew he would be mocked for building the ark. He knew he would be seen by many as a raving lunatic. Nevertheless, his reverent fear and respect for God compelled him to be obedient.
Charlie Kirk was seen by many on the Left as a misogynist, a Nazi, a bigot, and a hater for the simple reason that he wasn’t afraid to call out sin and lawlessness. In his love and reverence for God’s Word, Charlie built his own ark called Turning Point USA. He tackled the tough issues from gender ideology and abortion to critical race theory and immigration. Most recently, he addressed the infiltration of Marxism and Islam into American society through a series of podcasts and shows. Practically everything Charlie covered was controversial, but only to those who did not understand what obedience to God means.
To Charlie, obedience meant standing up for the unborn.
It meant protecting children from gender mutilation.
It required that he speak the truth in love about biblical marriage, biological reality, and the dangers of liberalism.
Tear Down That Wall
By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days, Hebrews 11:30.
Charlie Kirk’s mission was certainly about bringing down walls. By faith, he spoke at colleges all over the country seeking to tear down divisive ideologies that were destroying our nation’s youth. On the day of his death, he was trying to bring down those walls as the faces of both the concerned and the confused looked to him for direction. Every single time Charlie set foot on a college campus, his faith followed, and the spiritual trumpets were blasting as he became a voice for truth.
And yes, Charlie would pay the ultimate price for his faithfulness–his very own life would be taken.
When it comes to the faithful heroes mentioned in the “Hall of Faith,” we are told in Hebrews 11:35-40 that some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
As we look back on Charlie’s life and even his death, we can see that he wasn’t afraid to take up his cross and follow Jesus. He saw the promises of God from afar and decided to take that magnificent leap of faith.
The Month of Repentance
It’s important to note that Charlie lost his life during the biblical month of Elul. This is an appointed time on the biblical calendar known as the Days of Repentance. The shofar (trumpet) is blown during Elul, and each blast is a reminder to wake up, turn to God, and repent. After Elul ends, the High Holy Days are ushered in, starting with the Feast of Trumpets, followed by the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles.
As our nation witnesses the brutal reality of assassination culture, we must cry out for repentance from those who harbor feelings of deep hate. Without repentance, our nation’s wounds cannot be healed, and we will sink deeper into sin. The murder of Charlie Kirk should compel us all to drop to our knees in prayer as we ask for God’s mercy.
Charlie the Trumpet
Charlie Kirk was like a trumpet in so many ways. He called the nation’s youth to repentance, urging them to wake up and see the truth. More importantly, he urged them to open their hearts to Jesus.
Pastor Jack Hibbs, founder and senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in Southern California, paid tribute to Charlie by saying, “Whenever Charlie debated anyone, no matter how mean, ugly, or abusive they were to him, Charlie always shared the gospel of Jesus Christ, the doctrine of the Cross, and the Hope of eternal life.” Hibbs called Charlie’s death a “glorious graduation into the presence of Jesus Christ.” He added, “It is now up to us to carry on the love, the defense, and the courage that Charlie had in proclaiming Christ in America.”
Charlie Kirk was once asked by a commentator how he would want to be remembered if he died. He answered, “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith.”
Charlie will certainly be remembered for his resolute, firm faith.
Let’s Pray with Bold Faith
As we mourn the loss of an inspiring, loyal patriot, we too must have faith!
By faith, we declare that Jesus will wrap his loving, protective arms around Charlie’s family and friends, providing for every need and comforting them in the most difficult moments. We believe that a wall of protection will be formed around these precious people.
By faith, we declare that Charlie’s legacy will not be forgotten. In fact, his mantle will be taken up by strong, Christian men and women who are willing to stand in the gap for America’s youth and declare the gospel on campuses across America.
By faith, we KNOW that Charlie resides with the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, in the glorious abode of heaven, where there is no pain, no tears, but only eternal peace.
By faith, we believe that Jesus will give his angels charge over our homes, churches, schools, government buildings, and public venues. We believe these angels will do battle against the dark forces that have come against our nation.
By faith, we know that Jesus and the Holy Spirit will give us the courage we need to continue spreading the truth and the gospel. We will not be afraid. We will not be silenced.
Intercessors, let’s join the “Hall of Faith” by living our lives with a contagious faith that spreads to others. Even if we encounter discouragement, trials, and persecution, let us finish the race well, just as Charlie did.
One day, may we all hear these wonderful words from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Heavenly Father,
We come to You with heavy hearts for Erika as she grieves the loss of her husband Charlie. Cover her with Your peace, comfort, and strength in this time of sorrow. Let her feel Your nearness in every moment of pain and every breath of uncertainty.
Lord, we thank You for Charlie’s life, his courage, his message, and his mission for Jesus and for America. We ask that his work would not end here, but that the seeds he planted would grow stronger and bear even greater fruit for Your Kingdom.
Raise up others to carry the torch he held high, and let Erika be surrounded by love, support, and a renewed sense of purpose. May Your light shine through this tragedy, turning mourning into testimony, and loss into legacy.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray,
Amen.
Amen 🙏🏻✝️🕊️
Thank you that was beautiful article on Charlie Kirk. I believe our Lord is turning this evil that happened to Charlie into good for His purposes. It feels like we as a country are turning the corner for the good. May it continue and may many give their lives to Jesus. In His holy name I pray.
The voice of the Lord will not be diminished, it will exponentially increase! When Jesus took His disciples to Caesarea Philippi, He declared that the “gates of hell” would not prevail against His anointed. His word will never fail.
Father by Your faithfulness, place a mighty hedge of protection around Erika Kirk and their children as they rest in Your comfort and perfect peace. In Jesus’ mighty, authoritative name- Amen
