Pinocchio’s nose grew longer every time he told a lie, but the Left tells so many that we quickly lose count. Though we can’t rely on protruding noses to detect lies, we can always count on the Holy Spirit to guide us in all matters of truth and deception.

Go Woke Go Broke

The first lie told by the Left this week highlights how woke messages are turning one of America’s favorite sports into a wayward social justice sounding board. ESPN reports, “The NFL is continuing its on-field social justice messaging for the sixth straight season.” Moreover, “all 32 teams will feature an end zone message of their choice at each home game throughout the season, selecting from four options: ‘End Racism,’ ‘Stop Hate,’ ‘Choose Love,’ or ‘Inspire Change.’ Once again, ‘It Takes All of Us’ will be stenciled in the opposite end zone for all games. The only change from 2024 is that ‘Inspire Change’ replaces ‘Vote.’”

Reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, will jumpstart the football season by featuring “Choose Love” at their opening game against the Dallas Cowboys on September 4, 2025.

NFL Ignores the Public

Apparently, the NFL doesn’t care that Americans are fed up with divisive messaging and DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) virtue signaling. From the Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light disaster to the recent backlash over male cheerleaders performing at NFL games, everyday citizens are shouting from the rooftops that they are sick of woke activism.

Outkick, a sports media outlet that exposes the destructive nature of woke culture, explains why the NFL continues with its divisive rhetoric, despite the fact that many Americans are turned off by it.

“There’s no organized effort to stop watching, ratings are the highest they’ve ever been, and profits continue to explode. There’s no consequence for anything the NFL does…Why does none of this seem to matter to NFL fans? Simple: there’s no alternative to watching it, and a huge percentage of NFL fans are addicted to gambling on it. The NFL has no competition, which is why, as games become increasingly boring and dominated by defense, ratings have continued to increase. Watching football all day on Sunday is a tradition, made even more important by the rapid proliferation of sports betting, whether through yearly fantasy, props, prize picks, outright gambling, or daily fantasy. Viewers and fans have no alternative to what’s become a vital part of their lives from September-January.”

The NFL claims it’s promoting unity by displaying “socially responsible” messages on the field. Anna Isaacson, the NFL’s senior vice president of social responsibility, stated, “For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America’s most popular sport. This is an honor and responsibility that the league takes seriously, which is why we actively invest in off-field programs and on-field initiatives that promote unity.”

The Left’s idea of unity is better defined as calculated division designed to create more anger and discord. The truth is that the Left’s woke messages are part of a concerted effort to control and alienate everyday Americans. Certainly, there should be consequences for the NFL’s woke behavior, but if citizens don’t join together and send their own message, the virtue signaling will only get worse. Isn’t it time to stand up in unity against the NFL’s liberal agenda?

Turning “Dreamers” into Voters

The next lie told by the Left this week revolves around the Left’s lofty goal of turning illegal aliens into future voters. Former Texas representative Beto O’Rourke spoke at a “The People vs The Power Grab” rally in Ft Worth, where he vowed, “We absolutely failed to live up to the expectations that we set, so next time we win power, we’re going to drive that car like we stole it. We’re going to legalize every Dreamer, every Dreamer’s parents, every hardworking American doing backbreaking work that makes this country so g-d-mn great in the first place, even greater as US citizens.”

Turning illegal immigrants into citizens is extremely important to Leftists who hope to take power back through votes. The Federalist explains, “Given the chance, Democrats will choose voter registration over deportation…Legalizing millions of illegal aliens would reshape the electorate overnight. States like Texas could flip blue, while congressional toss-ups like New York Rep. Mike Lawler’s district could disappear for Republicans– not because voters changed their minds, but because Democrats imported and legalized new ones.”

Disingenuous Democrats

Leftists like O’Rourke claim they are on the same side as conservatives when it comes to upholding immigration law. “We all agree we should know who’s coming into this country. We all agree that we should be able to protect our families from violent criminals.” But his words are nothing more than lies because Leftist leaders have refused to follow sound immigration policies. Additionally, their support of sanctuary cities and opposition to ICE enforcement shows their loyalty lies in protecting illegal immigrants more than America’s citizens.

The truth is that the Left wants to secure votes so they can reshape the political landscape of the nation. They aren’t interested in democracy or keeping Americans safe and prosperous. They must not be allowed to defy immigration laws for the sake of keeping Democrats in power indefinitely.

Fact-Checking the Fact-Checkers

The third lie told by the Left this week goes all the way back to 2020, when Washington Post “fact-checker” Glenn Kessler said it was “doubtful” that the Coronavirus was released from a lab. Much to the Left’s dismay, the fact-checking of this liberal journalist has come back to haunt him because now he’s saying, “I screwed up.” Five years later, he freely admits, “Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect.”

The Washington Post was among the first mainstream outlets to reject the lab leak theory, labeling it as a “conspiracy theory that was already debunked.” Nonetheless, Kessler wasn’t too concerned about his incorrect fact check, insisting that out of the 3,000 fact checks that he wrote or edited, “there might be a dozen bad apples there.”

The Bias Behind Fact-Checking

What Kessler fails to admit is that his “very bad apple” added fuel to the fire during the COVID pandemic, where censorship became synonymous with Leftism. Anyone presenting evidence contrary to the accepted narrative was flagged as anti-science and pro-conspiracy. The truth is that fact checkers aren’t objective truth seekers, but rather opinionated writers who offer their own biased answers.

Kessler’s record on fact-checking is far from stellar. Kessler elevated the “Russiagate” hoax on several occasions. Additionally, last June, he “dismissed videos of then-President Joe Biden appearing confused as ‘misleading,’ saying the clips used ‘deceptive framing.’” Of course, this particular fact-check didn’t fool anyone who had witnessed President Biden’s poor cognitive performance on countless occasions.

The Left wants you to believe that when a fact is “checked,” this means it’s a settled truth. The only thing settled, however, is that every person interested in truth should do their own research instead of relying on biased opinions from woke journalists. Even Pinocchio would agree about this!

Lord Jesus, we are bombarded by lies and woke messages everywhere we turn. We ask for Your help to discern the truth so we can expose deception.
