Is MAGA Divided on Israel?
While Republicans still overwhelmingly support Israel, polls and social media reveal that some on the American Right are turning against the Jewish nation.
Who is praying on the wall?
From CBN:
“Everything they’re doing is demonic,” podcaster Candace Owens recently said. “I want nothing to do with it. I will never support Israel into the future after what they’ve done to these children, the starvation campaign. I don’t care.”
Others like Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson want America out of Israel’s affairs. Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of MAGA’s biggest voices in Congress, has called what’s happening in Gaza “genocide.”
Poll numbers also seem to suggest a slight drop in Israeli support among the GOP. Fifteen years ago in 2010, Republican support for Israel stood at 85 percent. Today it’s still strong, yet down to 75 percent. The more alarming statistic among Republicans today is that 37 percent have a negative view of the Jewish State. That’s up 10 percent from just 2022 when it was 27 percent.
Disdain for Israel and its prevalence in American politics is even more common among younger conservatives. CBN notes that, while 72% of Republicans overall still believe America should militarily support Israel, only 32% of Gen Z Republicans agree. Many of these younger conservatives have found America’s unwavering support for Israel and President Trump’s America first agenda to be incompatible.
Further exacerbating this division is social media. Julian Becerra, a conservative influencer on TikTok, said in a comment to CBN that young people are using social media to “hear the different opposing views.” Becerra claims, “They’re starting to make up their mind and not just have that blind support for [Israel].”
Meanwhile, Brilyn Hollyhand, a 19-year-old working for the RNC, says the division is overblown. Hollyhand reportedly credited this anti-Israel sentiment to “a fringe that has gotten really loud,” claiming that they’re beliefs don’t “represent the vast majority of MAGA that I talk to specifically on college campuses.”
As intercessors, we know that support for Israel isn’t just good, it’s a requirement. God said he would bless those who bless Israel. Let’s pray for those on the fringes of the Right to understand this truth, and let’s pray for our leaders to continue blessing Israel!
What do you think of the anti-Israel sentiment on the Right? Share your prayers for these young conservatives and for Israel below.

Father, realizing that much if not all of this anti-Semitism is demonic. So we look to you for protection of your people, from the physical, emotional, social, financial and spiritual wars waged against them. Help them to realize you Jesus as their true Prince of Peace. Silence lying lips of media and politicians. Instead we ask that those with positions of great influence and authority use it to support, encourage and work for the welfare of Israel.
Heavenly Father, thank you for exposing all of the darkness in our country and world, continuing to root out the liars in news media and leftists who perpetuate Marxism, communism, anti-Semitism ideals which are a “dead end.” All of the things which have been done in secret will be brought out into the light to be judged by God who is moving in this earth to bring about redemption and reformation. Thanks be to God. God blesses those who bless Israel. In Jesus Holy Name. Amen and Amen.
YHVH, I tend to agree with Hollyhand. Somehow, people have come to believe that whoever shouts the loudest is right and wins. However, as we know from Your Word to Elijah, You, the omnipotent God, often speak in a still, small voice that can shake the heavens and the earth! Magnify the voices that proclaim Truth in this day, especially in regard to Israel – for the sake of Your Holy Name!! Please turn down the volume of the “fringes”!
It is time to quit looking at all the “numbers”, the predictions of doom and gloomy, quit burying our heads in the sand and crying about everything wrong in this world. WE, as children of THE MOST HIGH GOD must take our seat of authority over all of these things and KNOW that we have the victory! Continuing prayer from the position of victory, praising God for the work He is doing even if we don’t see or think He’s doing anything is our way of keeping the door open for Him to be doing His work!
Lord Jesus, I pray for ALL Americans, Re[publican or Democrat, who are living in deception of being anti-Semetic. We need to support Israel as our ally, no matter how satan is deceiving the way that people think. These people are symptomatic of what happens when you don’t have Jesus Christ at the center of your life, Please, Lord, bring these people to a saving relationship with You. Thank You Jesus.
I would like Intercessors for America to operationally define “support of Israel.” Is it money, weapons, American advisors which often lead to American troops???
It would seem that those, especially in the younger brackets, who are turning against Israel simply are not in God’s Word and/or do not believe God. Therefore, they, just like the Demos, are susceptible to fall for anything.
We in USA will stand with Israel all the days of our lives and trust the Lord to fight with us and go before us to reestablish borders and take back Gaza from the enemies. What a horrific joke that has been:”Land for peace.”. We have repented for all the nations including Israel who came up with that devious plan. And having been forgiven we push forward spiritually and the Israelis physically to get through these dire straits and take back what the enemy stole. It’s Your land for Your people and purposes Father. So be it in Jesus name. Prepare a platform throughout Israel for Jesus Christ and His righteousness to be shared. Let Your love prevail Father.
Instead of standing with Israel just so that you can be blessed – which often comes across as doing it for your own sake – why not stand with Israel for God’s holy name’s sake?
If more Christian Zionists would emphasize this biblical aspect and priority when speaking about His nation, Israel, I would think that more believers who are sitting on the fence, or even opposed to Israel, would get a clue that this is their King Messiah’s nation whom He has chosen for His glory!
For example: aliyah Isaiah 43: 5-7, 21; aliyah and salvation Ezekiel 36:21-36; the land Jeremiah 32:41-44; the IDF Isaiah 41:10-16; Ezekiel 36:10; Jerusalem Isaiah 62:1-7; Zech. 8:1-8.
There are many more verses which focus all that God is doing in and with Israel for His name’s sake so that by praying for and standing with Israel we are asking for our Father in heaven’s name to be sanctified – in line with the first request in Messiah Yeshua’s model prayer (Luke 11:2).
Finallly, as the Psalms say, Israel’s existence is for God’s glory and so that the nations will know He is Lord (Psa. 115:1-3)..
