Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar recently highlighted the danger that a two-state solution would pose to Israel, cautioning against the establishment of a Palestinian state.

“A two-state solution? A Palestinian state in the heart of Israel would indeed be a solution—for those who seek to eliminate us. We will not let this happen,” Sa’ar said during a briefing in Jerusalem.

He argued that creating a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with its capital in eastern Jerusalem, would endanger Israel’s major population centers and leave the country with “indefensible” boundaries.

Sa’ar highlighted the geographical realities that Israel, a nation about the size of New Jersey, faces. He said that other nations like France or Canada could establish a Palestinian state if they wanted to, asserting that they “have enough territory.” For Israel, however, a Palestinian state is out of the question.

For those of us who know the biblical truth about Israel, this is an answer to our prayers. We know who that land belongs to, and we know the consequences of dividing it. Although Israel may have been more open to compromise in the past, it’s encouraging to know that its leaders are fully committed to defending and retaining the land God gave them.

As war continues in the Middle East, let’s pray for Israel. Let’s thank God for raising up Israeli leaders for such a time as this, and let’s pray his chosen nation is victorious in its fight!
