Positive Update: List of Missing People From Texas Floods Shrinks From 97 Down to Three
From The Daily Signal: Kerr County, Texas officials reported Saturday that of the nearly 100 people listed as missing at last count since deadly flash flooding overtook Texas on July 4, only three people are now missing, according to Fox News. The rest previously thought to have been missing have been found safe.
Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.
This sudden decline comes during the third week of searching—a positive result, considering that after the natural disaster occurred, the list of unaccounted individuals rose to 160 in Kerr County alone.
“We are profoundly grateful to the more than 1,000 local, state, and federal authorities who have worked tirelessly in the wake of the devastating flood that struck our community,” Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said in a statement on Saturday.

“This remarkable progress reflects countless hours of coordinated search and rescue operations, careful investigative work, and an unwavering commitment to bringing clarity and hope to families during an unimaginably difficult time.”
As of Sunday, the death toll in Kerr County has reached 107 victims, including 70 adults and 37 children.
Ever since the Guadalupe River rose 26 feet, the devastating Texas floods have killed 135 people. The violent inundation hit the Texas Hill Country very early on the morning of Independence Day, sweeping vacation cabins and youth camps away.
Camp Mystic, a Christian camp for young girls, alone reported the tragic death of 27 girls and camp counselors amid the floods.
Media commentators and Democrat lawmakers took advantage of this tragedy to attack President Donald Trump and his administration, claiming federal agencies were not able to act in time due to the cuts in funding and personnel in the National Weather Service.
“MAGA and [right-wing] media seem very upset today as a chorus of us experts discuss the impact of cuts to weather forecasting,” wrote CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem on X, reported Daily Signal columnist Jarrett Stepman.
The Department of Homeland Security responded to these accusations on X, showing the National Weather Service timeline in responding to the rising flood danger, reassuring, “The National Weather Service provided over 12 hours of advance notice via the Flood Watch and over 3 hours of lead time for Flash Flood Warnings, with escalated alerts as the storm intensified.”
“To every member of law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency management, and supporting agencies—thank you,” Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly said. “Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion have brought comfort and answers to so many.”
“Our thoughts remain with the families still awaiting news, and we will continue to stand with them as efforts persist,” Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring Jr. added.

Lord, we rejoice that the number of missing/unaccounted for dropped so drastically. We still ask that number go down to zero, for the sake of those left behind – may those 3 be found. My heart breaks for the loss of life, but I know we can trust You to bring good out of what the enemy meant for evil. I was also heartbroken and angry that so many tried to use it as a political tool. From the very first news briefing from local officials in Kerrville that we watched – some of the journalists were not only mud slinging and trying to place blame, but were also obnoxious and rude. I believe it was the mayor who rightfully threatened to bring in his wife, a schoolteacher, to teach the journalists some lessons in proper behavior and decorum. Please continue to shame, delegitimize, and take away the platforms of those who claim to inform the public when all they really do is spread their own lies and propaganda to a gullible and naive populace.
The lost of life of loved ones in such a tragedy as this is beyond heart breaking. Only ones faith in the reality of eternal life can help in comforting those who have lost a loved one especially a child. Some day parent will be reunited with their child if all have trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
But pointing the finger at the NWS or the government does not serve any purpose but to belittle that loss. Looking into what caused this amount of rain to fall in such a short time seems to be what needs to be investigated. Was it the hand of God OR was there man made involvement. That is what must be searched.
LORD, please bless the left behind with Your comfort and assurance they will one day be reunited. And in the time between now and then, please grow their faith. As for those who helped in this tragedy and witnessed the chaos up close, the peace of Christ. I ask this and so much more in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Father, thank You for our weather service. This service provides warnings of difficult weather, which may or may not transpire. They do their best to “forecast” by the information our satellites and other weather forecasting equipment provide. Bless them. Lord, every camper or group camp should have on site a “weather” radio for emergency purposes. Father, I pray that Camp Mystic will now have one of those in their offices. No blame is cast upon them, Lord. Show them the way to go from here. Some rules may need to change for the safety of all who utilize that camp. And Father of peace, let the blaming stop. Tragedies occur . We must look to You in them. Grant comfort and closure to every person involved, from victims to families to rescuers to government officials. May Your peace fall upon all. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
This tragedy in Texas weighed heavily on the hearts of many around the United States and beyond. It was certainly answered prayer for the news of missing now down to three. From my perspective, this July 4 flooding became a Romans 8:28 time.
Dear Abba Father,
Thank You for bringing Your comfort and help through the many brave and compassionate individuals who have tirelessly risked their own lives and even lost them to save others. Thank You for moving on the hearts of many to help heal all these families who have lost loved ones in this massive flooding. Lord, help us to continue to keep our eyes on You for our strength, for our protection, for our comfort. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
