As the State Department is reorganizing, senior officials are sharing shocking revelations about just what the department had become.

“They couldn’t tell you how many people worked here,” the official said. “It’s sort of scary as a taxpayer and as a public servant to think that we don’t even know how many employees we have. This is a national security agency, you know. Who are these people?”

The department had dozens of different offices handling human resources, and when a new employee was hired, they were accepting faxed records on their past work with other agencies.
“It’s crazy that a department that’s tasked with so many critical diplomatic, national security functions, with a $50 billion plus budget is running its affairs that way,” an official said.
The investigation found three separate offices dealing with sanctions, two handling arms control issues.
These issues are only part of a much larger picture of waste and inefficiency. IFA reported earlier this month that the State Department ended a program that was using taxpayer money to pay underperforming diplomats.
This news comes as Secretary Rubio and other top-ranking officials have been working hard to reform the State Department. The team reportedly hopes to leave the department with 3,000 fewer employees. Fox notes that these officials are avoiding firing employees from critical areas, instead focusing on “people that are doing these sort of like wasteful, sort of mindboggling functions.”
Despite the surgical nature of these cuts, many have still taken issue. Photos of sobbing former employees surfaced earlier this week, and over 130 former senior officials reportedly signed an open letter expressing concern that the staff cuts could make U.S. foreign policy less effective.
As these cuts and changes continue, let’s continue to pray. Let’s pray for a streamlined, efficient State Department that will use taxpayer money well and not lose its effectiveness.

Father God you have gifted each one of us for the work you would have us to do. Let this be a time in our Nation for your people to seek you first in ALL our ways. Open new doors of opportunity for those who previously chose to seek their security in a government job. May they know the joy of loving and serving you.
We have new foreign policy named Donald J. Trump, aided by Marco Rubio and other brilliant people.
We don’t need those paper pushers getting full pensions on our extorted dime, nor should we be paying for their free lunches, working from home scam, and happy hours.
The article doesn’t mention this, but aren’t they given a severance pay? That would take care of them until they can find another job.
Staff cuts could make U.S. foreign policy less effective as per the article. As a hard worker now retired, I believe the less workers the better the agency. In the real world, when a worker is let go another worker picks up the slack. Gov’t workers should be able to do the same. Some workers are in just for the paycheck and more than likely are just filling a spot. I know it’s hard to lose a position, but cuts must happen and gov’t offices are not exempt. Gov’t efficiency was one of many reasons we voted for President Trump!
I have true compassion on those who may be effected by these cuts, but I also know that it might be the grace of God upon them – calling them into relationship with Him – calling them to a more consecrated life if they do know Him. I have no compassion on those whose tears are insincere – mourning the loss of their “personal pork barrel”, received for doing nothing of merit. Lord, You know who is who and what is what. I am thankful for this move to “cut the fat” from our federal government – a healthy diet requires it!
Lord Jesus, I am SO grateful that we have an Administration that is dedicated to eliminating waste from our governmental agencies. I pray that You provide Secretary Rubio with guidance and wisdom in what he is doing in trimming away excess in the State Department and inappropriate use of taxpayer funds. Thank You Jesus.

We will pray for new job opportunities for these fired employees. However, this is the reality of bloating a system, creating jobs that are of no value, and hiring to expand the need for more funding. It has to end.

I am sorry for those losing their jobs, but people all over this country are suffering through this and more due to the democrats socialist agenda and their greed. We need honest and godly people in our government. Too many in our government think we the people work for them the deep state, democrats, and rinos. I pray and trust that God will take care of this.

This is a very difficult position to be in and I understand what it means in a family, having been there, but a necessary work to be done. Father give our leaders wisdom as we move forward and minister peace and provision to those effected. We need You.
Lord help us to be better steward, s we live in a fast pace environment where younger people haven’t learned to budget correctly and the government hasn’t been stable open and close door’s that will bring your blessings as we learn self discipline once more in your holy name Lord Jesus amen!
Prayers that Secretary Rubio and family are kept safe and all the employees of this department as waste and abuse is cut. The tax payers are exhausted with foolish policies and practices. Praying that it continues to get cleaned up!
