From Just the News:
Trump has been sending tariff rate cards out to countries this week that have not reached a trade deal with the United States. The letters have largely been going out to seven countries at a time.
The president argued that Canada has not done enough to help with the illegal flow of fentanyl that has been smuggled into the U.S. through the northern border. The U.S. is facing an opioid epidemic, and fentanyl is considered one of the most dangerous opioids in the country.
Just the News notes that the U.S. previously imposed a tariff of 25% on Canada. These new tariffs, barring any changes brought about by Canada, will go into effect on August 1.
As negotiations with Canada and other countries continue, let’s pray. Let’s pray for productive talks, for cooperation, and for godly wisdom for all leaders involved!
