EDITOR’S NOTE: When the Big Beautiful Bill was signed, many of us rejoiced over its provision defunding Planned Parenthood. Now, however, that’s been put on hold.
A judge has temporarily prevented President Donald Trump from revoking Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, after both chambers of Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act defunding the abortion giant and the president signed it into law.

Obama-appointee U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani’s temporary restraining order lasts just two weeks. It directs the Department of Health and Human Services to “take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed” to Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood sued the Trump administration on Monday due to the provision in the reconciliation package which cuts taxpayer funding to groups “primarily engaged in family planning services, reproductive health, and related medical care” that provide abortions.
“The Trump Administration is ending the forced use of federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion—a commonsense position that the overwhelming majority of Americans agree with,” a White House official told The Daily Signal.
The restraining order holds that “defendants, their agents, employees, appointees, successors, and anyone acting in concert or participation with Defendants are hereby enjoined from enforcing, retroactively enforcing, or otherwise applying” the Medicaid funding provision of the bill.
The ruling allows the administration to enforce the provision against other providers.
The defunding Planned Parenthood provision of the bill was hailed as a monumental win for the pro-life movement because Planned Parenthood receives more than one-third of its overall funding from the U.S. government through grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements. That translates to about $2 million per day, which taxpayers are on the hook for. Furthermore, taxpayer funding for the organization has been on an upward trajectory for about the past dozen years, having increased by 50% since 2013.
Planned Parenthood is also a major provider of hormones for so-called transgender transitions in the country, which means defunding it is also combating the organization’s efforts in that regard as well.

Father God,We come before You as intercessors for our nation, for the unborn, and for the hearts of those deceived by the lies of this world. Lord, You knit each life together in the womb, and no life is hidden from You (Psalm 139:13–16). We cry out for mercy—for the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16–17) has defiled our land.
We cry out for the innocent. We cry out for the sanctity of marriage and family, which You established in the beginning (Genesis 2:24). The enemy has sown confusion and rebellion against Your design, but we declare that what You have called holy will not be redefined by man. Strengthen the covenant of marriage and restore purity in this generation.
God, open the eyes of those who have been blinded by culture. Remove the veil from their hearts (2 Corinthians 3:14–16). Replace deception with truth, and shame with grace. We pray for every mother and father considering abortion right now—Lord, interrupt their plans with Your presence. Give them dreams, send believers into their path, speak to them in ways they cannot ignore.
We ask You to silence the voice of the accuser and raise up a remnant who will not bow to fear or compromise. Give us the boldness to speak truth in love, to protect life, to defend the voiceless, and to proclaim the Gospel that brings true freedom.
Heal our land, Lord. Heal the wounds of women and men who carry regret. Heal the children who never had a chance. And let revival begin with repentance in our own hearts.
We pray for the complete dismantling of every system, organization, and agenda that stands in opposition to Your design for life. We pray specifically that Planned Parenthood would be exposed for every hidden deed done in darkness (Ephesians 5:11), and that its influence would fall like the walls of Jericho—by Your hand, not ours.
But God, we also ask for a miracle of redemption. That the workers within those walls, even the decision-makers, would have Saul-to-Paul moments. That their hearts would break, and they would encounter Your mercy so deeply they would become voices for life.
Bring healing to every woman who’s walked through their doors, believing lies. Wrap them in Your grace. Bring justice for every child lost, and raise up bold voices to speak life with love and authority. Strengthen pregnancy centers, counselors, and ministries offering truth and help.

Scott, your prayer moved me…each and every request, amen! This year I read my ESV translation in the order of the Hebrew Bible, which concludes with 2 Chronicles. Your prayer for healing resonates deeply with me as I spent much time studying Solomon’s prayer and the LORD’s response. HE answered EVERTHING Solomon prayed for in His indescribable way…and continues to!
…If Your people go out to battle…and they pray to You…hear from Heaven and maintain their cause…. As Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from Heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. We are battling and, we are praying, may the Lord hear and maintain our cause….may HE fill us with His Glory.

Planned Parenthood is evil and yes we do pray for all involved in Planned Parenthood will repent. I cannot ask The Lord to bless Planned Parenthood.

Without any malice at all, I pray that you would permit that judge to experience the atrocious pain similar to the pain that a precious little baby feels as he/she is aborted in the hope that understanding would enlighten her mind and help her to realize the truth. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Dear Jesus I pray that this judge will feel the guilt of her actions. May you allow this law will be enforced the way it was intended. I detest having to pay for such an atrocious cruel act of abortion or transgender mutilizations. Please have your way so America can prosper. Please forgive us for allowing this to go on for so long. I am reminded how little I know but how greatly willing You are to show me. Planned Parenthood is an enemy and Indira Talwani, posing as a justice, has declared herself the same. I pray You are protecting the unborn just as You did for Israel, those in danger are totally dependent on You. On this day, Tammuz 13, 5785, I am praying:

So now a district judge thinks she has authority over my tax dollars? FATHER GOD I bind the demonic spirit on these evil judges that believe they have power and authority over Americans’ tax dollar uses! This cannot be legal. This bill became LAW through both legislative chambers. Amazing. This is not an executive order, but a bill that was enacted by our legislators in both houses. Judges are to uphold laws, not change them or order others to break them. I am at a loss for words. They are bound and determined to kill babies and twist and bend gender at the taxpayers expense it seems! This is absolute evil! Praying for these people and for justice.
