The New York Post has the story:
House Republicans narrowly passed a bill Thursday to cut $9.4 billion worth of federal spending, effectively codifying several actions by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The so-called rescissions package axes approximately $8.3 billion previously allocated to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) andĀ $1.1 billion to the Corporation for Public BroadcastingĀ (CPB), whichĀ partiallyĀ finances National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
The 214-212 vote sends the measure to the Senate, where it will only need a simple majority to advance to President Trumpās desk.
Reportedly, four Republicans voted against the measure, while six lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, didnāt vote.
Notably, two Republicans, Representatives Nick LaLota of New York and Don Bacon of Nebraska, initially opposed the legislation but ultimately flipped to support it.
Democrats staunchly opposed the opposition. Representative Hakeem Jeffries reportedly brandished an Elmo doll, accusing Republicans of seeking to cut childrenās television. Speaker Johnson, meanwhile, stressed that the legislation is about ensuring āthat every dollar spent by the federal government is used efficiently and effectively.ā
This is an answer to our prayers. For months, the valuable work of DOGE has been stifled by slow-to-act lawmakers. Letās pray that these cuts are the first of many, and letās continue to pray for wise and effective stewardship in our federal government.

Yes! Lord, now we pray that they’d codify the remaining 900 billion DOGE found since this is only 10%. We pray for a bigger majority come midterms.
Yes!!!!!!
Thank you, Father. I think this might be a good thing for our country. May our lawmakers practice cutting expenditures now so we as a nation will survive.
Thank You Father God for this great news! It is You Who has the power, and You Who gets the glory! We ask, but You do all the work!
