President Trump recently issued a new travel ban, impacting travel from almost 20 different countries. In a memorandum, he stressed the dangers than people rom these 20 countries pose to the United States.

The Daily Wire has the story:

The memorandum directs to “fully restrict and limit” travel from Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Partial travel restrictions will be placed on Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.

The directive is set to take effect on Monday.

In his memorandum, President Trump stressed the need to ensure that aliens “do not bear hostile attitudes” toward America. He also stressed that aliens should not “advocate for, aid, or support designated foreign terrorists.”

President Trump also shed light on why these specific countries were targeted:

Trump’s order says that the targeted countries have failed to build adequate “information-sharing and identity-management procedures” and that immigration from some of the countries can increase the risk of terrorism in the United States.

“Nationals of some countries also pose significant risks of overstaying their visas in the United States, which increases burdens on immigration and law enforcement components of the United States, and often exacerbates other risks related to national security and public safety,” the memorandum says.

This order is reminiscent of the travel ban passed during President Trump’s first term. Just like last time, this travel ban will likely be met with significant backlash.

Let’s pray about this travel ban. Let’s pray it would protect our nation, and let’s pray for wisdom and protection for President Trump as he continues to work to bolster our national security.

Please do give wisdom and discernment to our President and government officials, YHVH. We ask that You deal with our enemies within and without, because a travel ban does not take care of the threat entirely. We depend on You to guard and keep us as Your children. We trust that nothing outside the scope and timing of Your Sovereign will, will be allowed.

Lord Jehovah Nissi, You have revealed that you will protect and guide us. Reveal your plans and purposes for our nation so that we promote justice and righteousness throughout the world. Help us to protect life and dignity of all people and never take unjust advantage of weaker nations. We thank and praise you for your goodness to us. Amen
